While I'm happy they're reviving the tradition, I'm miffed they ruined my collection by skipping it last year and supposedly only making it available to their "best cardholders". This too shall pass.

No need to apologize, it's interesting to learn about other cultures/beliefs.

Its probably been right around 20 years now, It started off so simply just hitting KBtoys (around 5am open maybe?)for my cousins gifts and maybe RadioShack for a new game/control for my older brother to getting older kids toys and now mostly household/electronics for the home and a few gifts. So many things have changed since then from prep through to execution. In the early days my dad would go out and buy the paper for us and I'd sit and review it all while helping my mom with whatever prep work she needed while watching the Thanksgiving parade. We could leave the house 30 minutes before stores open to allow time for finding a parking spot and being at the door for opening, we could get everything we wanted in 1 mall from a couple of stores. By about 2001, I was finding the ads online in advance and buying the paper on my own, attaching my list of wants to the store ad while watching the parade and taking that with me for quick reference. A couple of years later I decided I wanted a new TV and got to BB on Thanksgiving night JUST managing to get one without a ticket. Since then I've spent most of Thanksgiving week online stalking the best deals before going out Thanksgiving/BF mostly missing the parade. Thankfully I have always been a deal shopper and never NEEDED to BF shop. I do BF for the deals available, between clearance deals year round and online availability I have needed to go out less and less each year. I may never stop BF shopping (even if they took away my JCP commemorative snow globe) but I will definitely be cutting the # of stores I hit and how early I get there.

I agree there seemed to be a delay...other then that AND having to remember not to switch between gmail accounts or getting the main gmail account setup correctly in youtube I should be fine.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2013
tinkrbel replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I saw lots of organizer/cute fabric boxes at 30% with school stuff today. It would be nice to get them at 50-70 but I have no idea when that was clearanced and closer store doesn't have any, -
Agree. I stay logged into my account (from home or work) and leave the BF/Monday deal page open and just refresh closer to the time I want something then just click "add to cart" and check out ASAP. then log out and into another acct or have another pc on standby if absolutely if needed:P I was able to get multiples of stuff last year (mostly from same pc). If you haven't been able to get ANYTHING I wonder if it's not your connection?

It's possible but I think it will have more to do with BF/Thanksgiving being closer to xmas than anything else.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2013
tinkrbel replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I was in yesterday afternoon and very underwhelmed. limited variety of bags and lunchboxes at 50% and the coupon binders I was looking for marked at 70% off and ringing not in system. I didn't even try to get one. tons of beat up fan boxes sitting under a clearance sign and not a single one was discounted. I had to request a manager at the service desk in order to use a manufacturer with coupon with a price match. My Target shopping days are coming to an end I fear.On the bright side, I have a new Walmart opening next year so maybe they'll take over. -
I think that's going to be YMMV. I had one cashier (at a store I rarely shop) tell me the coupons were for notions only but have never had issues at another store buying whatever we wanted including melting chocolate, however the explanation posted earlier would kind of void that ?
-
You said it. I avoided Thanksgiving dinner at Walmart last year and got my first item(Brave) before they kicked us out at 8 for the re-entry. Everything was picked over and all of the other movies I wanted never materialized probably because they'd put out early too. Thankfully a coworker got me the other must have movies at Sams I'll be getting my memberships next week for sams and costco already have bjs.
-
lol...my coworkers were playing the opposite game yesterday. completely berate one another then ask for a favor. it's so retarded because they do this multiple times a week and then still go out and spend $$$ on outrageous gifts for each other like they were REAL friends. I've put it down to I expect too much from people.
-
I kind of agree with that. I'm sure with people knowing I'm a coupon/saver now at work I'll get hassled for the best deal on this or that but quite frankly family/friends KNOW that BF is an each for themselves business UNLESS it's something A) not impossible to get and that I want whoever to have. For years I hit KBtoys with my mom for my cousins gifts from everyone on our side (us, aunt, grandma, etc). I still shop for all of my aunts gifts but she has very limited funds and it annoys me to no end to hear she spent $ on a cute box for some clearance open package underwear/hankies/socks nobody really wants when I could have spent less on something that would have been appreciated more, like a full pj set from Target clearance or a bluray.

last years data is still up but I'm not sure if he saves the prior years things. I will try and find a link from last year http://blackfridaycharts.com/

Whenever my back allows. We used to do it the weekend after Thanksgiving when we had a live tree now it all depends.
-
Never heard of this but my local Walmart has it for store pickup by 9/27 for $79.97 have you tried them?
-
Woohoo! I thought I recalled hearing he may not do it this year, glad I was wrong

from what I remember stock was very limited and disappeared quickly. We've never used anything but Pampers so thankfully I've never been at R Us on BF
