Definitely true. I did awesome online last year with the bulk at circuit city.Circuit city, best buy and radioshack(i think) all have thanksgiving day deals too. Some of the bigger items may not be available online BUT I think there were some tv's and laptops last year I just didn't need any then. Amazon had some amazing sales too, if I remember correctly they had a lot of the dvd's and video games cheaper than the stores and free shipping over $25. I've had some 3am starts at BestBuy and they weren't pleasant. Even if you are at the front of the line, nothing is guaranteed and some of the ppl ahead just want to sell their tickets to highest bidder Some ppl really enjoy the hunt etc, I'm more of a get in/get out person with as little hassle as possible so online really saves me stress and time. Plus, for ppl with families, it seems to be getting more hectic every year (pushing, rushing the doors, etc).I don't think I'll ever give it up, but I'm happy to wait in car or away from crazy mob to get into store a little later after bulk of stuff is bought online.

I'd be worried about in store pickup, BB only did it once, but other stores commonly send the purchase email followed by the out of stock/unavailable email. I don't think I'd gamble for something I really wanted.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009
tinkrbel replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I'm also looking out for the grills and deck boxes but they weren't very discounted last week maybe 30%. My brothers gril is falling apart and my father was complaining that his home depot BF special has horrible burners that need replacing again. I don't expect to get the grills though there's not many left in my area. -
Who has done some shopping for xmas already?
tinkrbel replied to cc1824's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I know there's stuff I bought after xmas stored in the house courtesy of target 90% off(jewelry boxes, towel sets+some little electronic gadgets in the already wrapped boxed),and just scored some leapfrog tags and the books for kid gifts under $10 for reading system and 3 books, think I did pretty well thanks to the target offline post. Plus I got lucky at walmart last week and got all my new (2 mo old) nephews gifts from family members(4 gifts) this year for under $25. Would have had birthday or xmas next year done too but mother enjoys being a party pooper when I'm getting excellent deals. She usually comes around and realizes it made sense to get stuff, but sometimes its too late. She made me promise I would only get 2 tag reading sets at 2.48 reg 49.99 then I get home and she remembers other gifts she needed and sends me looking for more :) -

just seems silly. i know they're just trying to do their jobs, but some cashiers act like their wage depended on you not buying stuff on sale for next to nothing :) got some more tag books for 0.80 today after holding up the line so cashier could take coupon to CS for approval. can't thank this thread enough got a few xmas gifts out of the way for myself and my aunt (which earns next to nothing).it's always nice to be able to get her gifts that are worth giving and still be well within her budget. -

Is it just me or is it upsetting when people look at you questioningly when given a valid coupon? the $10Q rang up no problem, but both cashiers looked at them and then me like i was crazy? my $4 coupons didn't scan at 1st kmart and cashier typed in code manually but at another they scanned with hand held scanner, my aunt came over yesterday and said her store doesnt take "copied" coupons, i'll find out later (if they have any books). ran out of coupons yesterday and will have to return and repurchase, didn't expect to do so well. while im at it will try walmart by work, the one i went to ysterday had a toy i bought for $4 last week at $13, talk about different clearance schedules:P -

also, here's the link I used for $4 coupon. i saved/printed attachment, coupon valid til 09/30/2009.Looking at the linked coupon pages that one is for $3 off (didn't look at expiration since would be using the $4). HTH, God knows I've saved loads thanks to the site in the last 2 years. http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=83517&t=1477329 -

THANK YOU. I must have gotten a little silly after getting the 2 green ones and scanned a new pink one. I got 3 pink which were mixed in:P Then dashed to two kmarts and a walmart for the books. Kmart had the books mentioned before at 4.80 and 4.88 which came out to .88 or .80 w/coupons. Walmart had a dora back to school for $10 and the madagascar 2 had a shelf tag of $7 but scanned $13.xx. I just got the dora since they're all gifts and the one girl loves dora. The other kids can make do with 3+free book in tag i think, unless my aunt finds the kung fu panda at her store -

i got 2 tags marked down to 12.48 at the same store i checked yesterday. cashier was looking at coupon in disbelief of the final price. none of the books on sale at target and none of the books at my kmart were on sale but they didnt have the titles mentioned earlier. may have my aunt check her kmart. kohls currently has a buy one get one half on toys if anyone needs to buy them now and i read om another site that some toys r us have the books at 8.99 but i only went to babies r us and they didnt have any tag stuff only baby leaps. -

kinda related question: whats the difference between all the reading systems? besides using their only their own cartridges. -
COMMENT ONLY: by the number of ACE guesses it will be anything but ACE to be first even if BRAD has the ACE AD.

Best Buy Black Friday Ticket System, FAQ and Sample Ticket
tinkrbel replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2009
I don't think I bought anything at BB last year. CC thanksgiving day was the biggest purchase overall. Got some cheap external hard drives at staples. I think BB only had blu rays which looked good and Amazon had better prices and free shipping. But this year I'm looking for a bigger TV and possibly a laptop will probably end up somewhere very early, can only hope there are fun people in line w/me:)
