  3. http://www.magazinepricesearch.com is a search engine of all the best deals.
  4. Ah, but they can always say that the envelope was empty or that your submission was "incomplete". http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/NO/no.gif
  5. Staples Easy Rebates are practically guaranteed though... All you have to do is fill out the form on their Web site, there is nothing to get mailed in. A month later (after the return policy is over) they cut you a check. Easy peasy. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileys/ok.gif
  6. Yep, that's how it works. Also, you can post deals you find and if Brad has an affiliation with the site, the site gets credit.

  10. I've never heard of them. I'd be leery of shopping anywhere that didn't have at least an ENTRY on ResellerRatings.com. Not to mention that their logo and tagline is a direct rip of Wal-Mart. I'd stay away. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Non-Smiling/run.gif
  11. Actually, it wasn't you at all... The guilty parties know who they are. You can't see the posts that I removed. Gadgets are really nice in Vista, BTW. And it's definitely more attractive than XP (and XP ran rings around Win98, WinME and Win2K). One thing they have to work out (hopefully in this service pack) is having all of the folders default to MY CHOICE of layout, rather than a layout based on the contents of the folder. Oh well. Until then, I'll just use UltraExplorer (http://www.mustangpeak.net/ultraexplorer.html). Heck, I might stick with UltraExplorer even if the service pack fixes the issue. I http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Love/hb1.gif UltraExplorer!
  12. Until recently, I had been using a 1.2Ghz laptop with 512 MB of RAM for listening to radio broadcasts over the 'net and watching online movies through Netflix. It did fine. I listen to Hannity and Rush Limbaugh too. :) If you are going with a laptop running Vista, just stick with at least 1GB of RAM for Vista Basic and 2GB for Home Premium. You'll be fine. However, those Toughbooks are extremely expensive. Like twice the price of a standard laptop. It might pay him to be more careful, or ask you to move it from room to room for him, LOL!

  14. I couldn't find a code for clothing, but they are having sales: Women's clothing: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/c_10153_12605_Clothing_Womens Men's clothing: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/c_10153_12605_Clothing_Mens And they do offer free shipping if you pick it up at your local Sears...
  15. On something in particular? They offer different discount codes depending on what you are buying, such as clothing, tires, appliances, etc.
  16. Two BFs ago, we bought a Olevia TV from OfficeDepot. Olevia took 5 months to pay the $200 rebate. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Rude/raspa.gif
  17. That bundles the graphics card in for $49 more. It's a better deal if you were planning on getting the graphics card anyway. That's the crazy thing about Dell... There's always another deal or "package" to look at. You can really go !
  18. I posted this on another thread today, but it's an appropriate answer for your question: I have to say that both my wife's and my computer are both running Vista Home Premium. Once you get used to it, it's not that bad. And some things are easier. The problem is they moved EVERYTHING!!! "My Documents" is called "Documents", the control panel program "Add/Remove Programs" is now called "Programs and Features", etc. At least in this stage of the game, if you can't find something, you can just Google for it, for instance, "Vista drive letter change" will bring up a list of articles. It's the way o' the future. Get used to it or get left behind with the people still using Win98. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/LOL/56k.gif Vista does run best with 2GB of ram, which this laptop comes with so you should be fine. A lot more eye-candy in Vista than in WinXP.
  19. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Threads/adminwatch2zc.gif Do not mention pirating software in this thread or elsewhere on Gottadeal. Next mention locks the thread. (2 posts removed)
  20. No, you shouldn't have a problem at all...

  22. Reviews: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3918&review=Dell+Vostro+1500 http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/dell-vostro-1500/4505-3121_7-32471370.html http://www.conita.com/Computers/Dell-Computers/271.html And I think this is about the best deal that Dell has right now. Just a few weeks ago, they had this same computer for $649. They usually pull out all the stops for the one-day-deals.
  23. I just looked around and more or less drives below 1GB aren't really offered at prices lower than what a 1GB would cost. The lowest I found while casually looking: Frys.com has a 1GB flash drive for $7.99 + $6.32 S/H after a $5 rebate. http://shop1.outpost.com/%7Bhx4eQKl6848EIqfJc0pOSg**.node2%7D/product/4855520 However, for sizes below 1 GB, prices are dirt-cheap on ebay. For instance, 128MB: http://computers.search.ebay.com/128mb-flash-drive_Drives-Controllers-Storage_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQcatrefZC12QQfromZR40QQsacatZ165 Do a search for 256MB or 512MB too, you might be able to get a larger drive for the same cost. Try to stay with brand-new retail-packaged drives...
  24. 1GB & 2GB seems to be the sweet spot for pricing these days. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Yes/thyes2.gif
