Hey Brad! On THIS side of Tennessee (the pretty side, in my opinion), the TV channels have been talking about how WONDERFUL your site is and I've seen the addy given at least 3 times! You guys rock! June

Aaron, the Disney Store in the mall here in Knoxville is opening at 5:00 AM on BF. Was told they would have good sales, but they would not give me hints!

Normally teach middle school and we have classes today and tomorrow, but on medical leave due to surgery, so no work. I do have a basketball tournament Monday and Tuesday night, and starting at 9:00 AM Friday and Saturday mornning! 24 games total that I have to score this week. Luckily, I have always gotten what I wanted and been through by 8:00 AM! And the tourney pays good money, to pay for my treasures! Thank goodness Doc didn't say I couldn't sit at basketball games for three weeks, only that I couldn't work for 3 weeks! (Course, I didn't ask him....)

Brad PMed me two weeks ago and said I won a T-Shirt, but it hasn't showed yet. Hoping it will be here by Wednesday so that I can wear it over turtleneck friday morning! June

Who all is getting the Little People Playsets from Wal Mart?
kjunea replied to Miranda1313's topic in 2005
Our walmart has had NO "Little People" sets on their shelves for over a month! I've been watching and NOTHING! I want the Garage set too, but also want the Noahs Ark for a present for a niece. Don't know if I want to face the crowd just to get it. May try online before going to get inline at BB. June -
I've gone by myself for about 10 years now. My mom is not able to walk far distances and she says she would just slow me down! I am usually out and finished by 9:30 AM. Now, I have never gone a few hours early to get in line like I am doing this year, but "I have always believed in the kindness of strangers..." Never had a problem, even when 6 months pregnant! Be nice to people and they are nice to you... even when standing in line at Circuit City for 45 minutes! June

Yes, they really had the toys 50% of THEIR price, which is more expensive than WalMart or TRU. Half off is good price, but they get special sets from Fisher Price that you can't buy anywhere else or are several sets put together. June

Hey Brad... I noticed the cingular was one of your "partner" sites. If I pay my bill online (which I always do) by linking through your site, will you get a little cha-ching? I would be happy to do that. It's the least I could do to help out! June

Tanger Outlet in Pigeon Forge "officially" opens at 8:00. Some stores open earlier. In past years, Old Navy opened at midnight and stayed open until closing on Sunday (yuck! if you worked there!). Tommy Hilfiger opened at 6:00. Most didn't open until 8:00 am (including where I worked for 3 years, Disney Outlet). If you weren't in the parking lot by 7:00, you probably didn't get a place to park. They would tell people to park at theatres, churches, and bus them to us! June

The Tanger Outlet in Pigeon Forge has some stores that open early like that, namely Old Navy. In years past, they have opened at Midnight on BF and stayed open around the clock until the outlets closed on Sunday night! They had great sales though..... Hoodies for $10, etc. But talk about crowded! That whole shopping center gets full by 6:00 am. I used to work at a Disney Outlet there and I would show up at 5:00 AM and leave by 11:00 AM. They would provide lunch for everyone for the whole weekend, because no one could leave and find a place to park when you returned! It's a madhouse! (But fun! and lots of deals!) Do I dare go there on BF? NO WAY!!! I'll stick to the chaos at Best Buy and Walmart any day! June

the worse year at Target was when they gave out little matchbox cars to the first 250 people that had coupons on them or something, and lots of people cut line, fights broke out, etc. over little CARS!!! Yikes!! And yet, I still go. This will be my 30th BF, since I started going with my mom when I was 15! June

Penneys has a little Quad runner for $49.99 right now in their Christmas Catalog. It comes in boys and girls models. I ordered it this week for my almost 3 year old, but am still looking at getting the Jeep on BF at Walmart for him and canceling that order. The Penneys order is backordered until 12/01 right now. And there was a code for free shipping if you ordered $75.00 when I ordered it, so I ordered the helmet and something else to make the difference. Everything was backordered, which was funny, but nothing was needed until Christmas anyway, so that is okay. hope that helps. June

Disney Outlets are located around some of the tourist areas. There is one in Rehobeth Beach, Delaware, San Marcos, Texas, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (where I used to work), Some place near DC in Virginia at a big shopping area, and the main warehouse in the middle of nowhere in South Carolina. I know the outlets in Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head are closed. There used to be outlets in Branson, MO and in Gulf Shores, ALA, but I'm not sure if they are open or closed. I worked for them part-time for 3 years (I'm a teacher really) just for the perks. I would get into the park free, park free, stay at the hotels for $25-100 a night (All-star cheapest price to Grand Floridian), discounts in parks on lots of stuff, get free tickets twice a year for my family, discounts on other tickets I bought, plus they have an outlet of things that we could buy that came from the parks. They would also sell "lost" items either 60 or 90 after being found if no one claimed. You would be amazed how many cameras, expensive sunglasses, babystrollers, etc that would go on sale! Since I was single at the time, I would go there 4-5 times a year for a long weekend! I called a friend that I worked with at the outlet last night since I haven't been by the outlet in a couple of months due to school starting back and being on medical leave at the moment. She said that as of Labor Day, they (and the catalog too) are not owned by Disney either. They are owned by the company that owns the Disney Stores and leases Disney's name. Disney has final say on the product that goes out into the stores, but not much else. They don't get the perks that we used to get either as much. They still get the free tickets, but the castmember doesn't get in free anymore, etc. She also said that they were keeping pretty mum on what was going to be on sale on BF. (We used to know about a month ahead of time, the managers more than that.) I went by the Disney Store and my friend that works there said they haven't been told either. I will keep my ear to the ground though. June

Disney Stores were sold and are not owned by Disney anymore. Disney Outlets are for the online/catalog merch and sometimes liquidates for Parks and ESPN/ABC, etc. June

And I remember when I used to cram all this planning into Thanksgiving Day AND cook the meal for 15 people! I'm almost through with hubby's gifts. Lots more to go for everyone else! This is my time of year! June

One of my best friends from College lived in Hawaii for over 10 years. Her hubby opened the WalMarts on the Big Island, Oahu and Kauai. She loved it! She would send me macadamia nuts and I would send her Martha White Cornmeal! You can take the girl out of Tennessee, but you can't take the Tennessee out of the girl! June

They ususally have a BF sale, at the regular store and any outlets you can find (I think there are only 4 or 5 outlets left). they ususally don't open until 8:00, so you can put them later on your list. Prices are good, outlet prices much better! I've seen 4 place settings of their Christmas dishes (they change the pattern every year) go for $25, cheap stuffed animals, etc. June <-- former Castmember

And Kohls!!! Don't forget Kohls! June

I'll pop over and check the supplies of my local target tomorrow. I've got a friend that works that and SWEARS she hasn't heard a thing. But then, she says they are keeping it very hush-hush! Since my Target is across the street from the WalMart, they are very, very competitive. She says the managers have seen the WalMart BF ad (from here, she thinks!) She's keeping her ears open! June

A LONG time ago, they used to have coffee and doughnuts for people. Haven't seen that in a couple of years though... June

I've always done the Penneys snowglobes or ornaments. Proffitts (a local store that was bought by Saks then just sold to Belz) always does a Cracker Jack giveaway. You get a box or bag of Cracker Jacks and the prize inside is a discount or a gift certificate or a piece of jewelry (diamond rings, bracelets, etc.) Great because you are hunger by the time they open up! Since Belz bought them, I don't know if they will still be doing it. Anxiously waiting to see! June

Plus you ended up with a bunch of free food pieces... Med fries, sm drink, small mcflurry, breakfast sandwich, large burger, or breakfast value meal. Heck, I gave most of them away, and still have some left. If you want to get rid of some of those game pieces... I teach at a rural school. McDonalds is a big treat for some of them! June
