  1. This model is Creative's preemptive strike against a future iPod Video. 3.7" VGA-resolution display.
  2. you might have some kind of ad-blocker / anti-virus sofware that is blocking clicks to "linksynergy.com", "click.linksynergy.com", "linkshare.com", etc...
  3. New 40% off coupon released: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=11747
  4. There were 2 rebates: $15: http://ak.Buy.com/buy_assets/retail/pdfs/05Q2/0627-0703st_15buyreb.pdf and $10: http://ak.Buy.com/buy_assets/retail/pdfs/05Q2/0620-0831st_10ctg.pdf
  5. You might see the limited-config $750 off $1499 coupon before October. I checked the expired coupon archive and there was one in both May and June in addition to the few they did last month, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it back at least once per month.
  6. Should've posted yesterday. Buy.com has it for $127.99 + shipping but they had a free shipping coupon that expired last night. It probably would have worked on the case.
  7. Another reason why we are the #1 deal site. Useful and valuable comments like this.
  8. no deal here - just posting a thread to get our charity donation up to an even $180 before midnight ET :) :) :) http://www.gottadeal.com/total.gif
  9. I don't think they've ever actually got them in stock yet, so it's more like a preorder. But today is the last day for the free shipping coupon. Otherwise since it's not in stock they won't give you free shipping.
  10. that's what i thought. it's nice having the power supply built in. just plug it in the wall
  11. Belkin has had this sale very often. Their MSRP prices are usually so high that by the time you add shipping to the 50%-off price, it's basically what you can get it for at Buy.com, etc... although there are probably still some deals to be had.
  12. That may be true, but keep in mind that we had well over 3,000 people register for the forum last year during BF to read or post on the Black Friday board (which was open to registered members only). If they just wanted the information about that ads, that was on the BF site and didn't require any registration, so that tells us that people like the pre-BF conversation on here as well as the actual ads.
  13. Excellent ideas from everyone. We had been planning on a very fun contest anyway, so we'll see how we can work it to encourage new members to post, while not excluding all of you old timers from participating. As for having them post an "introduce yourself" thread, by the time the BF site opens, we expect to upgrade this forum to vBulletin 3.5 assuming it has gone final by then (they just released the first release candidate (RC) version yesterday). One of the add-ons available for vB is the ability to automatically create a welcome thread (in an "Introductions" subforum or something) for each new user. That could also be an option, although I wonder how many would actually bother to post in those threads unless they are forced to do so before accessing the BF board, which we wouldn't really want to do.
  14. How much do they want for the Port Replicator Notebook Expansion Dock?
  15. Yep. The old 1.25GHz should go down to $449 to make up the 256MB RAM difference. The old 1.42GHz should be down at $499 because the 256MB, Bluetooth and WiFi are worth about $100.
  16. The previous versions are now on sale at Amazon. 1.25GHz is $479 shipped: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0006HU2IM 1.42GHz is $549 shipped: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0006HU2ZU
  17. Still taking suggestions... Black Friday is now less than 4 months away.
  18. Just a reminder that this one expires tomorrow at 5:59am CT. With Dell's fiscal quarter ending, it could very well be 3 months before we get another one like this that is good on pretty much any configuration. For those of you like BigNate who want an extremely loaded system, this is the coupon to use - you'll save much more than the $750 off coupons that are usually considered the hottest.
  19. Yes, I'd imagine Amazon will have these (as well as discounts/rebates on the 2 older models) sometime today or tomorrow.
  20. It uses a slot loading drive, so I have no idea how easy/what models you could replace it with. Of course you could also use a USB 2.0/FireWire external DVD burner which could also be used with any of your other PCs.
  21. Yep. The 256MB of RAM on the first versions was not good. 512MB is really all you need on a system like this. Because of the relatively slow 1.4GHz G4, any advantage of having more than 512MB is minimal. As a comparison, MacConnection sells the previous 1.42GHz version with the BT and WiFi upgrade for $673 after $40 rebate, and that doesn't even have the extra 256MB of RAM.
  22. Yes, they all still have the Radeon 9200, which works fine on my 2001FP, so I'd think it would be fine on the 2005FPW, but you might want to do a Google search to make sure nobody has any problems with it. The $599 version is very nice, I don't think it's worth the extra $100 for the SuperDrive, and that could be a possibly DIY upgrade down the road.
  23. The middle version is probably the best value now. The $499 version is basically the same as it was except it just got an extra 256MB of RAM, but the $599 version got an extra 256MB, plus WiFi and Bluetooth.
