I think if you look closely at the seller's feedback it would be a good start. If they sell a lot of them and haven't had anyone claim they were fakes, it's a pretty good bet that they are legit. If someone was selling fakes, I would think they would have been caught by now.

Well the $49 upgrade also includes an upgrade to the Intel PRO 3945 WiFi, which they charge $29 for by itself. Don't know if that would make a difference to 99% of the people who would use a laptop like this though. Both the standard WiFi and the upgraded one support .11b/g, so unless you are going to use .11a, there probably isn't a reason.

I've been seeing "one day only" everywhere that I've seen the deal so I assume it is only for today. I think it's a very nice deal for anyone looking for a laptop. The 1GB ram and 80GB HD is very nice considering the usual is 512MB/60GB for these deals. I'd suggest upgrading the LCD for $100, and getting one of the 2 video card upgrades, but other than that (and maybe the WiFi/Bluetooth) I don't know if I'd upgrade anything else.

Reviews seem to be very positive. I think it's one of the older models.

I actually bought one of these for my sister. Don't know how much she has used it since.

Target.com has some fairly new coupons. Obviously the 10% off will save you at least the same if not a lot more as the other coupons, so I don't know why they bothered with those unless you can only use the 10% off once, but here they are. I think by group it means the different user groups like "registered users", "moderators", "users with 100 posts", etc... I think you can belong to more than one group for things like special "perks", etc.... but right now we don't have any of those set up.
