BGndr
My aunt works for a local Walmart and was told that this year, they will be going to a ticket system similar to BestBuy. Her store is a small one in Southeastern Illinois, and I figure if that small of a store is going to the ticket system maybe they all are? Have any of you heard anything like this? Brad
Haven't heard anything, but it wouldn't be surprising after the death/lawsuit last year.
civiclover88
Actually, the Wal-mart I went to last year implemented a ticket system for the most sought after stuff. I was a great change of pace from years past at Wal-mart.
wx4svr
Sounds like an awesome idea... I can pick up a ticket, go to Starbucks in the warm and wait. :)
berry1014
The walmart near me has done tickets for the big electronic items for a few years now.
tinkrbel
hmmm..that might give me an incentive to go there...i think they're warranties are cheaper than other places.
staviles
I would hope so...we camped out for 2 days and it was still ridiculous having to fight the mob to get the stuff we wanted...a ticketing system would be just perfect and give me a couple extra hours sleep in the tent after they get handed out :)
Gporter34
I asked at our WM and as of right now, they say they have no plans for the use of a "ticket system". It certainly would make things easier and safer. WM is always a zoo on BF.
musicalkarasel
In the past, they have always left it up to the individual walmart stores. I plan on calling the manager of the store that I plan to go to closer to BF. Although the store I go to is a madhouse on that day, we don't have a camp out situation, and tickets are fairly unnecessary because they always have a lot of things left over. tinkrbel
I've only stepped foot into a WM once on blackfriday and that was years ago and sometime around noon so things had pretty much settled down. I'm not sure what to be expecting, will have to ask at the store sometime.
sdigman
I am really glad to hear this if it is true. Last year I wanted that Leapster system for my daughter and the games. I was shoved to the ground by someone and they tried walking on me . To make matters worse there was a child about 9 or 10 years old in that pile. guilliam
Sounds like an awesome idea... I can pick up a ticket, go to Starbucks in the warm and wait. :)Our Walmart used the ticket system last year, but even with the ticket you had to stay in line. PentiumMMX
It'd be nice if the local Wal-Mart would do this. However, they probably won't do it; their manager isn't that great from what I've heard from former employees.
jellybean051901
I hope so. Of course this is the year I am not after anything big. Figures.
Hummin Bird
this would be such a good idea. I dont normally do walmart on black friday because a few years ago I got my leg broken in a walmart mob, so i avoid at all cost.
BFNinja
I hope that this is true because it would make things a lot safer. It doesn’t make sense to keep things the way they are especially after what happened last year.
jadedmomof2
It'd be nice, since it looks like this year I'll be going after a tv. A laptop would be nice too.

EYGLE
I would think that walmart legal eagles have put a very strict policy together for this day. They received all that publicity about that death last year..the lawsuit that followed. I think we will see some new policy's at the big W. msivy
because i have a terrible temper, a fast mouth and don't like crowds as it is. i'm excited to participate but fearful i'll snap and be mean if someone gets the last t.v. ticket in front of me or something. i hope i can get in line in time. i just read up on what happened last year though and that sounds waaaaay worse than my crappy temper. sounds fine to me. and i'm gonna freeze my face off in the snow because i'm from vegas and this is my first year in a cold and snowy climate in almost 20 years. starbeck96
I really hope they do use the ticket system this year because I usually get at our walmart about an hour and a half before they open. Then some people come right at time to open and come from the side and cut in front of everyone..(We live in a small town). So I hope they do use the ticket system so I don't have to worry about the idiots cutting line this year.
