  1. The Walmart PJs and movies for sure. The PJs always run small, so my kids get maybe two wears out of them before they shrink and pill. I bet we have 50 movies still in plastic that we've never watched but I bought because they were cheap. Last year I had to keep reminding myself not to buy them!
  2. Exactly. I had people saying I should donate it and others asking how I could sleep at night. I listed it for over the price I paid, but much less than eBay or Amazon. I stood in line for a couple of hours to get it. I ended up selling it for less that I originally asked, but still made a little bit extra. Then people were saying I should donate the money..they have no idea what I do with extra money I get..maybe I already do!
  3. I managed to snag one at Walmart last week. It was $14.98, and when I checked eBay there were some going for $35. I'm gonna sit on mine a couple of weeks and try to turn a profit on eBay. I managed to get a Hatchimal last year and listed it on Facebook and got REAMED by some people. They were shocked that I'd try to sell it for more than I paid..sorry, don't like it? Don't buy it
  4. I've bought an Under Armour sweatshirt for the 22 year old Exchange son and a shirt off the clearance rack at Hibbitt's Sports for the husband.
  5. I have the PW pots and pans. I love them. I typically use silicone or wood utensils and haven't had any scratching. I've had mine about a year. I love the fact that they're dishwashwer safe.
  6. I have the cookware and I love it!
  7. I was a stay at home mom for many years, but my husband took a vacation day to stay home so I could shop. I now work at a college, and the college is closed as part of Thanksgiving break Hubs still takes the day to stay home with the kids though.
  8. My mother in law was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and will be undergoing treatments so I'm in charge of the meal for 25ish people 2 Turkeys- one smoked Mashed potatoes Noodles Cranberry-wild rice stuffing Broccoli-rice casserole Corn and bacon casserole mac and cheese Brussels sprot, quinoa and cranberry salad Rolls Bourbon cranberry sauce Pumpkin Roll Pecan Pie Caramel apple cheesecake
  9. My aunt is a department manager for Walmart. She said last week they had a managers meeting and were told to plan schedules the same as last year (6pm, 8pm, etc) The District Manager acted surprised as he was told everything would be happening on Friday. Their schedule was put out, "subject to change". Also, she said they no longer get Holiday Pay for working. So if you call in sick, you only get 1 point, vs more since it is just your regular hourly rate. If it's just one point on their record, what's stopping anyone from calling in?
  10. I got the fitbit, and got a confirmation email.
  11. I went to my Walmart this morning. The ad they had in store was all of 4 pages, not 8 like online. They had NO tv's. I ended up having to pull up the ad from GD to the correct sale prices on items for two other people at the checkout as well. Everyone I talked to in the store had no idea there even WAS a sale, let alone have any helpful information.

I told her chameleons don't make good pets....until my MIL said she had one as a girl and loved it!

    Odd Gift Requests

I love this thread! My 9 year old daughter asked for Nutella, easy cheeze in a can and whipped cream in a can. And a chameleon. She's getting three of the four
  14. I called my local Hometown Sears store, and the owner told me that many Hometown stores will open on Wednesday before Thanksgiving from 5-8 with all Black Friday sales availalble
  15. I did too. I figure by the 15 day time limit for returns is up, I'll know if there is a better deal elsewhere.
  16. We go to my In-Laws on Thanksgiving, but have it with my mom's family the weekend before. As far as Christmas goes, we do the In-Laws the weekend before, and my parents just some random day. Christmas Day is for MY family, at MY house Other holidays we will celebrate at other times as well. With big families, sometimes it is the only way to get together.
  17. Yay!! We're needing a new dishwasher, so I was really glad to see this! Most of these deals will be online too, yes? Our local Sears is one of those super small, appliance only stores.
  18. We go to my husband's parents on Thanksgiving day. Menu will probably be roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, noodles, a vegetable of some sort and rolls. I'll make bourbon cranberry sauce, caramel pecan pie, chocolate pie, pecan pie cheesecake and pumpkin roll.
  19. I'm sorry for you and your children. My parents divorced when I was 16, and I remember it being weird at first. In time, we grew to create new memories and traditions and I hope the same for you all. I like the idea of dinner in the crockpot and taking in a movie on Christmas Eve. Drive through some lights on the way home, too!
  20. Thanks for taking the time to post!
  21. My most memorable is taking my exchange student son with us BF shopping. He is Swiss and had never even heard of BF. We shopped all night and as we got home, after the sun was up he looked at me and said "Mom. You are insane. I love you...goodnight" I miss that guy.
  22. Was your daughter in a children's hospital? Maybe make a special visit and do an activity with kids that are still there? Make ornaments or decorate cookies?
  23. Great! Thanks! I'll check it out tomorrow. I've got to go back for a couple things.
  24. Olney, Illinois (Southeastern part of the state) had their deals in store. Just got back with Disney Infinity for $37. There weren't any on the shelf, but I asked and they had two in the back!My store doesn't have the right Nerf Rebelle gun though.
