dakotadenise Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 We already know we are getting the kids the Wii as the big Santa gift this year. I remember the frantic searches last year - should I be buying it now, or will waiting be ok?? We won't need any of the "hot" new games, the kids already have their fav's picked out.
cashandra Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I seriously highly doubt it. I think everyone that wanted one really bad has finally come by one. Shoot, my mother in law got us one last year for Christmas and she didn't wait in no line. She actually ordered it out of a catalog!
neile457 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 no, they are all over the place. Also, I am seeing deals on them with extra stuff free.
Ravenseye Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I would like to think that there will be a lot of them out there, but, it has been shorted over the last three Christmases. Why would this year be any different? I'm not trying to panic you, but I'd feel safer if you got it now and were able to stock up on accessories as the holiday gets nearer. You know they're gonna have killer deals on the extra controllers, games and other bits and pieces that will go with it. :) -Mike
momlori Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 You can always get it now and if you find a better price return it depending on the policies where you buy it
Venusaur Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 No, some stores are actually having a hard time getting rid of their stock of Wiis, so they give you a free gift card with its purchase.
arci122 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Our local Walmart has 15 on the shelf right now. Will be some new craze this year.
julz0420 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Yeah I agree w/ the other posters. I think the Wii will be readily available at Christmas.
Brad Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Like others have said, there is really no reason to wait. There won't be a price drop before the holidays. The best you can hope for on BF would be a free game or accessory with purchase, but you can even get that kind of deal now at places like Walmart: http://www.walmart.com/product_id=10726532
dakotadenise Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 Thanks all! Brad - that walmart deal was what was making me wonder if that's as good as i'm going to get and if I should go ahead and get it now! Think i will get it!
neile457 Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Here it is for $225 from Dell.comhttp://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Games/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A0764619
TheLegend Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Like others have said, there is really no reason to wait. There won't be a price drop before the holidays. Wiis are available in good quantities though, they spent all this past year opening new fab plants to increase the supply.
jamieva Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Not to hijack this thread but will the PS3 be a deal come BF? Or is the $299 price drop all we get?
TheLegend Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Not to hijack this thread but will the PS3 be a deal come BF? Or is the $299 price drop all we get?$299 is for the new PS3 slim. Couldn't say what there would be for BF. The past it's usually been the bundles where the deals are. BTW.... Microsoft has just announced a price drop on the XBox 360 Elite to match the PS3 Slim at $299. Which makes me believe Nintendo will need to drop the price for the Wii (wishfully thinking to $199.)
jellybean051901 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 LAst year we sat by a huge pile of them all night at Walmart. Nobody seemed to be desperate for them. If anything Wii Active will be hard to find
citrixgirl Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 hubby and i got a used one off of ebay for 225 cane with 6 games too.. so we are good but i doont think it will be as hard to get.
KaS Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I don't think so. I think everyone pretty much has one by now.
wx4svr Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I agree with KaS... I think they are out there now. I think Wii Fit will be hot again, but not the console itself.
emilygracesmom Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I'm not so sure that even the Wii Fit will be that hard to come by. I've been to Target and Walmart both this weekend and they both have several in stock.
BFNinja Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 It might be. Nintendo is planning a $50 price drop at the end of this month.
Scanner420 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 M'eh........I think the Wii will be easy....Wii Fit and Wii Active will be harder to get.
kgm520 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I saw today that even TRU has dropped their price to $200.
wx4svr Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Hey everyone... just to throw out some Wii News - -The price HAS been dropped to $199.99 in most stores. -Wii Fit Plus will be coming out SOON! (WOOT!) -Wii Sport Resort + Wii Motion Plus = Awesome and also coming soon.
mscrapper Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Wii sport Resort with Motion Plus is tons of fun. The whole family likes that one.
