Mommy2Four Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I am really stumped on what to get my DD for Christmas. She's 2.5. What did your kids love at that age? What are you buying your kids that age?
kimpooh19 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 My kids love anything by Fisher Price.:) What about some DVD's?
amy0807 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Yep, Fisher Price makes a lot of great things for that age. Also the big wooden puzzles are great and blocks. My oldest DD loved coloring at that age, too.
pottsie66 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Last year my youngest daughter was 2.5 and she loved doing anything mommy did. She enjoyed (and still does) playing with her pretend kitchen and vacuum cleaner. She also LOVES her pink Fisher Price Little People castle. She still plays with it EVERY day!!! Of course she has graduated from the little people to Polly Pockets that now live in the castle.

amy0807 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Samisma, I love the ice cream set. That is too cute!
kbabral Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 At that age my dd (now 4) loved anything fisher price. But her favorite thing that year was all the little people sets. They really are fantastic toys!
samisma Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Samisma, I love the ice cream set. That is too cute! thanks! her teachers actually recommended it :) there are other things i'm looking for, but haven't found yet. like big lacing beads (that she can't choke on), and remember the old wooden pictures you'd thread a shoelace through? but i don't think they make that stuff anymore.

love2beurwifey Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 My daughter is turning 2 on December 21st and 4 days later it will be Christmas. I have no idea what to get her either. I was considering a doll with the stroller, pack n play, and highchair but it says for ages 3 and up. Has anyone seen one for her age. My niece will be turning 3 on Christmas day and I will be getting her the luv n learn doll house because she loves playing with my other nieces house when she comes over. I would like to get her a kitchen but right now we don't have the space for it.
leah_steven Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 thanks! her teachers actually recommended it :) there are other things i'm looking for, but haven't found yet. like big lacing beads (that she can't choke on), and remember the old wooden pictures you'd thread a shoelace through? but i don't think they make that stuff anymore. I have some I acutally found at big lots for around $3!! Check with them, they are very large and could not be choked on.

Mommy2Four Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 Thanks everyone! Yep, I highly recommend the Little People sets my kids love them, we have most of them.
littlesdcen Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I bought my nephew the elmo live doll. I hope he liked it.
queenofshopping Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Play kitchen! Play kitchen! OMG that was the highlight of my very young life! Possibly the greatest gift I've ever received!
abentley Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 My sGD 2 is getting the Rose Petal Cottage, dinette set and tea set from me/us. My Dh just looks at me like I am nuts, but I LOVE to shop for her.
fluffkin79 Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 My girls - 3 and 5 years old - really want a play kitchen. I don't want the bulk or the scattered food and dishes. They can play with grandma's when we visit. They really liked (and still do like) little people sets, dollhouses, dolls and strollers. Instead of the play kitchen they will be getting a playdoh play kitchen, $12.xx at Kmart http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-22465-Play-Doh-Makin-Kitchen/dp/B0001NE76O and a playdoh icecream shop, $10 at Walmart this morning http://www.amazon.com/Play-Doh-Magic-Swirl-Cream-Shoppe/dp/B00160HTYI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1227912906&sr=1-1
lakj98 Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 My DS is 2 1/2. He is getting Spike the Dinosaur, Biscuit the dog, vtech kids digital camera (so he will hopefully leave mine alone), Fisher Price amazing color copier (he loves to draw), bath blizzard (makes lots of bubbles in the bath), air hogs zero gravity r/c car (my DS8 is getting this and the little one always wants what his older brother has), lucky ducks game...I can't remember what else he is getting. He LOVES to play with the play kitchen. he plays with it every day. We already have two from my DD5 so I will not be buying him another one, but it is a wonderful gift idea.
