We were visiting family in St. Louis last weekend and my DH ran to a friends house for a while and when he came back he said one of the radio stations was playing Christmas music 24/7 already! :eyepoppin Okay, I love Christmas, I mean, I REALLY love it, but playing Christmas music before Halloween? This is a little too extreme, even for me. So, if you're in the area and need a little holiday spirit, tune into 101.1.

On XM it's only two weeks and a day til they (normally) kick off their holiday channels.

I'd be really surprised if we didn't start hearing it in malls and stores soon as well...they're going to pull out every stop to get you panicked about the shopping season.

Hallmark was playing Christmas music this weekend. They had their ornament debut this past weekend. I haven't been in this week so I am not sure if they are still playing it.

I LOVE Christmas music!! I could listen to it all year long, but I don't. Every year there is a festival here in Oct. and I usually buy 2 new Christmas CD's. I have been listening to those already.

The station is converting from a music station to an ESPN station. The ESPN deal is running long to complete so they are playing holiday music until the FCC filings are approved. It is my understanding they were caught off guard and this was the cheapest, easiest solution.

Thanks for the information. I was beginning to think that someone at the station had lost their minds!!

I checked Time Warner's music channel "sounds of the seasons" last night but they are still playing Halloween music. It should start November 1st though! I can't wait! :holiday08

As a music teacher, I have been listening to it since September. Frankly, I am sick of it and can't wait to hear something else. Ok, I love it the last week of school before the holidays.....the kids even seem a little kinder, gentler, more giving.

I'm not sure about music, but DH actually said he wanted to watch Home Alone tonight. That's always my first clue that he's ready for Christmas. XMas isn't really the point of the whole story, but it usually seems to only get watched around Christmas here. Of course he is a store manager with a retail company, so he's already hearing Christmas this and Christmas that. Plus I've started really talking about BF this week.

I got my Christmas cds out last week and started listening to them at home by myself (or my DH would make fun of me too). I wanted to start playing them at work ( I work in child care with 2 year olds) but my co-teacher says not until after Halloween:(

i listen to Christmas music any time of the year if the mood strikes, but this is to early for stores and stations in my opinion

Actually I wouldn't mind if they snuck a carol in every now and then all year long, some of them are so pretty, but I do admit, going down the aisles with the Halloween costumes and listening to I'm dreaming of a White Christmas or Here Comes Santa Claus is a little disconcerting! :g_shrug:

I know, I tuned into Movin 101.1 and Jingle Bell rock was playing. I thought it was some special request or somebody messing with us, then Little Drummer Boy played. I was like

I know Movin 101.1 will be a sports channel starting January- I had no idea they would change the format to all Christmas music so soon though :cheesy:

I'm anxious to hear Christmas music already! :D Unfortunately our radio station here doesnt start playing it 24/7 until Thanksgiving Day. Think I'm going to have to start work on my Christmas music playlist for my ipod. LOL

I was singing "it's beginning to look a lot like christmas" the other day, but only because it was snowing LOL

There's a gadget you can install on Windows Vista desktops that plays christmas music. I installed it today, but prolly won't play it for a while.
