MonsterMutts
I hope it's ok to post here but I was wondering if I was the only one to feel this way... So Chicago Bears tickets went on sale and I was all set. Seriously fast internet, account logged in, fingers excercised..... I get the tickets page, then the " what is this word " page ( I could hardly read it )and then the Sorry - SOL page. It did give me a link to " Get tickets " and it was to a sight that has to be a scalper. My issue was it took all of 20 seconds to get this page and when I went to the " get tickets " sight they already had over 850 Bears tickets.... Now Ticketmaster claims to be an up and up sight but I guess I'm not seeing exactly how.
freesia39
Usually if you don't get the word right, you get a few more tries to get the word correct. Did you start at Ticketmaster.com and search, or the Chicago Bears website? Or somewhere else? Now, I'm more annoyed with Ticketmaster's "convenience" fee... MonsterMutts
I had about three pages open ( on ticketmaster).... Whata loser I know.... and two of the three I got wrong but they all came up - no longer available. I guess my beef is how are normal folks supposed to get a couple tickets when there are sights that can buy over 850 tickets in such a short amount of time. The filling of the word is doing nothing to slow anyone else down. Maybe I should just join the season ticket waiting list and stop complaining :)
stationchief
Seems surprising how in about a minute they'd be sold out. Perhaps they had a pre-sale or something. But I know what'cha mean. There's scalping software out there that lets you get around that word image thing, among other ways to snatch hundreds of tickets in a very short amount of time. Seems incredibly unfair to us little people who just want a single ticket to one show.
Xfeg
On a geeky side note the word thing is called a captcha.
katiesmommy01
i'm really good at getting tickets to things (so good that my friends have me get theirs all the time)...so here's how you need to do it...firstly, i bet they had a presale (sometimes its a fan club/etc sale), some tickets are withheld and released at a later date. Don't buy online!!! waste of time and you cannot pick your seat location. Find out the number to the ticket office for the location you want, call ahead of time and ask about how it works for the day of the sale. Usually i've found that you can call 10min before tickets go on sale and be put on a phone que...then you get really close tickets before anyone else can. Since it's too late to do that (i'm assuming that you couldnt get tickets and it's all sold out?)...the best idea is to wait until the week of the game, around that time the ticket brokers get nervous and just want to unload their unsold tickets (often they are out of state and no-where near the venue), additionally people who bought tickets earlier have things come up and cannot attend, and will sell their tickets on craigslist for less than they paid. If you go to the venue right before the game starts you can snag tix for nothing from the local brokers/scalpers. good luck!
sas377
In my experience you can only have one Ticketmaster window open. What happens is each captcha seems to change to the new one when you open that window. I think it's a security thing so people can't by more than the limit at the same time. But it doesn't matter since scalping sites seem to get every ticket anyway! I refuse to buy through Ticketmaster due to the fees and the pathetic seats I am usually offered! MonsterMutts
Thanks everyone! I had three windows open for the three games I could make and I thought just maybe I could get lucky enough to go to one :) Captcha huh..... My learning something new for the day!!! Katiesmommy I will try it your way the next time. Thanks for the advice!
guilliam
I know it's not the same, but stubhub.com is a legit site to buy tickets from other people, but I'm sure they have a markup.

Seems incredibly unfair to us little people who just want a single ticket to one show. i had this issue before... really it boils down to a couple of things... per ticketmaster, i have been told that they open up a certain amount of certain seats for the presale, for the regular sale, and later in the sale. meaning that pre sale does not mean better tickets supposedly. there are also people out there who create programs to get around the captchas and limits.
