raycesmommy
I don't know if this is the right forum for this, so please move to correct one if it is not. I am looking to buy a new digital camera. I found that I like the Kodak Z712 IS as the reviews state it is a pretty great camera for the money. So I found a seller on Ebay that sells this camera in "Manufacturer Refurbished class "A" to BRAND NEW condition, in factory sealed box, unopened, everything is in the original manufactory status. This camera is in PERFECT condition! ". They have a bundled package that includes: Kodak Z712 7.1 MP digital camera w/ 50x Zoom. AA batteries (x2) AV cable USB cable Lens cap Printer dock cradle Neck strap Photo software CD-ROM User's manual Warranty Bonus1: NEW Retail Package 2GB SD Card w/ Case ($49.95 Value) Bonus2: Nice Soft Camera Case ($24.95) Bonus3: High Capacity Battery Charger w/ Rechargable Batteries ($24.95) Bonus4: Portable Mini Tripod ($14.95) Bonus5: Premium Lens Cleaning Kit ($19.95) My question is upon reviewing their feedback, they have had 12731 positives, 164 neutrals, and 37 negatives in the past month. I used the tool to read the negatives and they included comments about slow shipping, item not being as described, item arriving with visible wear and scratches, bad communication, and the list goes on and on. The seller almost always does a followup asking the person to call them direct though. I am unsure if I should trust this seller or not. I thought I would get opinions as to if you think you would proceed or not. The seller's handle is ebestdeal4u, and they have been a member since April 2001 and are a powerseller with a 392,801 feedback score for a percentage of 99.8%. Thanks in advance!! erose630
Tough call, 99.8% is pretty good - with that many transactions it's not shocking that he has a few negatives. If it was a great deal I'd probably go for it.
freesia39
if they're a power seller, you're probably allright. they have to do a lot of ... um... behind kissing to ebay to keep that.
guilliam
I, personally, would buy it if it was a good deal and what I wanted. But I would pay with paypal using a credit card to protect myself.
DaveL
Yep, if it is that good of a deal I would go for it. When you sell a lot you are bound to have a few negatives.

LonghornMomma
That's the equivalent of someone who has 344 feedbacks having 1 negative. Not too bad if you ask me.

rachealb
I agree with the Paypal thing.... they (should) help if there is a problem
Sue-Z-Q
Keep in mind some people just need something to whine about. The majority of feedback is positive and some are neutral and the rest are more than likely whiners. I would buy from this seller and have bought from sellers with the like feedback many times and I have not had a problem yet.
kardomr
hi. just to pose the opposite side--30+ negatives in a month seems high. there are plenty of powersellers without negatives. you should be able to read the sellers response to each of the negatives to hear his/her side. but, if you do buy, paypal offers you some progection. or, if you use your own credit card, and the purchase amount is within their protection, that may be another option if you need it. course if you aren't in a hurry, you can wait for another to appear. good luck. raycesmommy
Thanks to everyone for their response. I thought I would update you all on what I decided to do. After much consideration, I found this exact camera brand new on amazon.com. It was only $194 plus they gave me a free 2 GB memory card as well as free shipping. I know it didn't come with all the bells and whistles that the auction came with, but when it came down to it, I really didn't know how much I would use some of the items and my piece of mind was worth the extra money it cost. I thought it might be just better to get a brand new camera and buy from an established company. So thanks to everyone for their responses! I really did appreciate it!
