booga12345
Hi Guys, I bought the big Bratz makeup suitecase for my dsd 11 1/2, but now I'm doubting that purchase. She dosen't live in the same city as us so I'm not real sure what she is in to and I only have boys. Do you think that Bratz is to babyish for that age? The makeup inside is actually quite pretty. Lyricsmama
I dunno.. My 4 year old is into Bratz, I can't see her at 11 being into it but I could be wrong.
elena_398
I would think an 11 year old would want "real" makeup. Walmart even has really nice make up sets that arent' theme... Like for adults.. does that make sense? who knows, an 11 year old may like Bratz still, but unlikely. Around here, about age 9 or so is the limit on Bratz (at least my neighbors kids. My daughter age 7 got all their Bratz stuff this year!

My 4 year old is into Bratz, I can't see her at 11 being into it but I could be wrong. It's not like that fake makeup you would buy for small children. It has eyeliner, lipliner, eyeshadow, lipstick, body shimmer, glitter, all the makeup brushes and so forth. I am pretty sure that she will like the makeup. I guess my concern is that the "Bratz" case might be to babyish for her.

jazzy442
My cousin`s daughter just turned 11 and she would like that. Any make-up is cool with her as long as she has some. LOL.
booga12345
Ok I just noticed on the tag that it says "This Bratz product is marketed for girls 8 years old and above. The beauty products contained in this collection are real cosmetics. Parental supervision required". I have been trying to find some reviews online, but I have not been able to find this product. It is called the movie star traveler. If anybody has any info on this I would love to hear it. So since it is real cosmetics do you think it would be ok? Thanks! Lyricsmama
Maybe what you could do, is take the cosmetics OUT of the Bratz case, and buy a really nice makeup case for her and put the stuff in there.

bluebear
Okay, maybe I'm the meanie here, but I wouldn't even let my daughter play with makeup when she was 11. At 13 she could wear only blush and a little eye shadow, no eyeliner or anything. I used to HATE it when her dad's family would give her makeup, and they would always give her tons, I guess because that's what you think of for tweens. And it was sad for her because it was a present she couldn't use.
harrispizza4
Well, I just asked my dd who will be 10 next week, "If I bought you a Bratz case with make-up in it for x-mas would you like it?" Her response was "Yes...well,I would at least take the make-up out of it!" Then I asked her..Well, do you still like Bratz? She said not really because she's more into High School Musical and that's more what older girls like! This was kinda what I thought so I'm glad I didn't get her any Bratz items but I think all girls are different:)

jbdinos
my youngest SIL will be 10 in January and she asked for Bratz stuff for Christmas as my DS8 drew her name from the drawing. Personally as a PP said, I didn't let my DD's have makeup at all until they were 14. Then it was a little blush, eye shadow, and lip gloss. then at 15 if they do it appropriately they get to add in mascara and at 16 they can have all make up. But I see other kids as young as 7 or 8 wearing makeup like it's no big deal. If it were me, I'd call the parent she lives with to see if make up is an appropriate gift. If it is, I wouldn't worry about the Bratz part and send it but if her rules are no makeup at age 11, then I would take it back and get something to show a unified front on rules, etc. I just think it would be too sad if she got a gift she couldn't use because of her age/rules. And if they try to return it, make up sets are generally put on sale right after Christmas and so she wouldn't get a credit for all the $$ you paid and may feel cheated. me2
My daughter is 11, and she is definitely not into Bratz. I think it depends a little on what grade your sdd is in school. If she's elementary, maybe, middle school, probably not. 11 is kind of a tough age for a makeup kit. They're a little old to just pretend, but a little young to really wear it. I'd pick up a manicure set with nail polish and glittery dealios instead.
leefamily23
In one of our gift exchanges I got a 10yr old- I was told she likes Bratz anything. So, that's what I got her. I guess it depends on the kid.
Shortness
My dd is 11 doesn't play with her Bratz anymore. I would agree that it depends on the child--and what the other parent would allow. I don't allow my girls to wear makeup until 13.
