I started today.

So far I baked some pumpkin rolls and now i'm onto M&M Cookies. :)

:gdlicklips:

I hate starting too early, cuz when you freeze them, they dont taste as good.

I haven't done any yet... I don't know if I will do much, as we're leaving the day after Christmas. If the kids want to do some, we will--and just include with some gifts.

Not yet. I was going to do cookies this weekend, but my niece & nephew want to come help us, so I am thinking of having them spend the night next Saturday. We will make pumpkin rolls, and for sure lots of sugar cookies. I have tons of leftover kits from Halloween. :) We also are making Tree shaped rice krispy treats, dipped in chocolate & sprinkles, for their teachers. I need to sit down with my 474354398593 cookie & candy cookbooks, and see what other simple things to make. I'm sure I'll end up making fudge too.

I started making some of my cookie doughs today. I'm freezing them then I'll bake closer to Christmas.

I am baking some colored spritz cookies later just for fun because DD begged me too.

My mom and I get together the first Saturday of December every year and do some marathon baking. We try to do at least 10 different varieties (usually at least a double batch of each) and split them up evenly. We have grandma come over to ice the cut outs. This year we did cut outs, m&m holiday cookies, spritz cookies, rice krispie treats, oatmeal rolled in red & green sugars, peanut blossoms, italian tender sugar cookies, buckeyes, and 7 layer bars. I'm making up a big plate of cookies to take to work Monday and then my boys usually take care of the rest ;)

I made peanut butter balls dipped in choc yesterday for a party.

I did a double batch of the dough, so I can make more (easier) in one week because Christmas with my Mom, Brother, Gram etc is on the 16th.

It makes is nice to split the holiday get-togethers up, but it makes it hard to do the baking because I want everyones to be fresh at the same time, so I'm kind of stuck into two big baking session. I'm SO not complaining. I LOVE holiday baking...it's jut harder now with 3 & 4 year old boys. They SAY that they want to help...but all they do is whine for dough...and then they lose interest so they run around & fight because they know I'm busy. Ugh. I will never stop baking though....I think it is SUCH a meaningful gift to give. Something made with love, that you cannot buy. I KNOW my Dad still LOVES it.

I do the same thing. I have the dough for my chocolate chip cookies and my spiced oatmeal rasin in the freezer. I'm working on the dough for the peanut butter and surgar cookies today.

My DH has already been into the baking. The only thing I've done yet is test out the pretzel turtle recipe I found on this site-- yummy-- will be making more of those!!! Want to make pecan scones this year. Will see how my time works out...

Guess I'll bite the bullet and do the bulk of my baking this weekend.

With the big snow storm coming thru, dont really need to go out in that

mess and its the perfect excuse to get it done. :)

And its only a week early, so they should still taste pretty fresh, right?

I baked chocolate chip cookies for my genealogy club party on Wednesday and for my son to take to his Cub Scout pack meeting tonight. Of course, the kids ate the rest and it was a double batch!! I have a lot more baking to do if I can find the time. I have a final exam consisting of 8 essays due on Sunday night and I haven't even started because I've been too busy in the Amazon thread, lol. I have everything I need so I'd better start baking and doing some homework and I'll save myself some $$$! It's so impossibly hard to bake with a 20 month old and a nursing 6 month old who is having a growth spurt and wants to be an appendage all day! When I baked the other day she screamed every time I had to put her down to swap cookies out of the oven. I'm going to have to try to get some done tomorrow night or Sunday morning and have hubby watch the kids so I can do homework between batches. Ahhh!

Final comment - I LOVE MY KITCHEN AID MIXER! This is the first year I haven't blown up a hand mixer thanks to the sweet Kohl's deal on the 6qt mixer last year. :D

Wife's doing it next Fri & Sat W/her sisters. They have a huge "cookie exchange" day Everyone brings their speciality batter and they bake them up and share the goods. My kids eat most of them before she brings them home though.

If (and I heavily stress IF) I'm feeling well enough (wouldn't you know I've come down with whatever super virus is going around the kids' school) I may attempt a batch of cookies. First one would have to be grandma's peppercookies - those are a tradition with us :)

One of my main get togethers is tomorrow. With Mom, Gram, and Brother.

I've made Caramel Corn, Spritz, Peanut Butter Balls, Rice Krispy treats tinted green with red sprinkles--but I don' thtink they'll last until tomorrow. They are going FAST!

I'm making a pistacio dessert salad today, and this morning I made those cinnamon and applesauce ornaments (there's glue in there too, so they are not edible). My house smells SO GOOD right now. They just came out of the oven! That is enough reason right there to make those!!!!! MMMMMMMMM.......

There is one more traditional cut out frosted cookie that I make at Christmas Time, but those will wait until next week because they are my Dad's favorite, and I'll see him ON Christmas day. I want them to be fresh for him.

I love baking!!!!!!!

I have made Chocolate Chip Walnut cookies, Sugar Cookies, Peanut Butter and they have all been eaten during the black out....so I am gonna have to start over and maybe there will be school next week so the kids can bring them to their teachers instead of eating them!

Have the sugar cookie dough in the frig...will either roll out today or tomorrow to bake and frost.

May make a batch of spritz too cuz I forgot about them and LOVE them!

Just made 3 dozen peanut butter, 3 dozen peanut butter w/ hershey kisses and a dozen snicker cookies. The look on Dh's face when I took the snicker cookies out of the oven was priceless.. said "geeze hon, you should have told me to save room for those!" Ah well, they MAY last a day or so around here :gdlicklips:

I just made my list of things to bake. Does that count?? ;)

I don't think I'll actually start baking until probably Sunday and Monday, so it all stays fresh. I may do the gingerbread cookies on Saturday so we can have a decorating "party" with Nanna.

I do have lots to make, though!! I'm sure come Monday evening, this will be me: :tired:
