juanadeal Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Just saw this. Selected stores are giving out Shopper Survival Kits to the first shoppers of the day. http://2day.target.com/survivalkit.html Sorry I didn't realize how limited the locations were. I checked the 3 stores by me and the 3 by my mom's house just in case we're there and they're all listed. Can a mod change the title to select store only or something?
MeMyselfI Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Only select stores in these states- California New Jersey Florida New York Indiana Wisconsin Darn
Kaarak Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 None here either, if we had gone to C's families for Thanksgiving we would have gotten one! Bummer!
lesliepear Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Wow - my Target has this. I wonder if I should go there first now?
jarerice Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 It figures... NO Alabama locations! LOL... I was thinking the same thing.
krissy904 Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 wow, you know what's worse than not having your state participating? Having your state on the "yes" list, but not in your city!! I guess Jacksonville isn't cool enough to survive. Darn. Double darn.
freesia39 Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 wha... it's only in SOUTHERN California. I'll be in northern california. oh well.
redraven Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Is it for the black friday and saturday sales?
lindabacker Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 wow, you know what's worse than not having your state participating? Having your state on the "yes" list, but not in your city!! I guess Jacksonville isn't cool enough to survive. Darn. Double darn.hahahaha I was thinking the same thing!
Mommy Nikki Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Woohoo...Indiana finally gets something but not the main cities. all the little towns. That's funny.
tiedyecandy Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 We need survival kits here in Dallas too!
BF in Iowa Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 So those of us in the cold Northern and Midwest states where the temperatures/precipitation could be the worst have to survive without Target's help (except for one store in Wisconsin), eh? I guess I will pack my fleece blanket and Thermos of hot cocoa.
juanadeal Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 does it say what is in the kit?Nope, and I don't think I'll be lining up at 5am to find out either:(
dsaman Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Man, their corporate headquarters are in MN and no stores here are getting them either. Grrr.
Mugglemom Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 none in VA I know right! Like we don't need to survive!
mamapenguin Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Way to go Target! You successfully snubbed most of America:confused: Oh well, you'll get my $$ anyway, because one of my "must haves" is a Target exclusive.
alexac Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Woohoo! My target will have them.. The only thing is that I bought all of my stuff earlier this evening, to avoid going early in the morning on Fri. Wonder if there are any gift cards in the survival kits?
magicalorange Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 My Target will have them. It doesn't make sense for me to stand in line though unless I know what I'm standing in line for. They have one thing I want that I doubt will run out but I didn't plan on going there until last. If anyone happens to know what is actually in this survival kit it would be appreciated.
JeffPerk Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Only select stores in these states- California New JerseyFlorida New York IndianaWisconsin DarnDoesn't Target care about their customers in the other 44 states? I guess we don't matter as much as those customers in CA, NJ, FL, NY, IN, WI. Why should I give Target any of my $$$ if I am not as worthy of a customer as those in the special 6 states? I'm sure they'll get some of my $$$ as my wife will have to go there. But still, we need to survive in PA & MD too. It would be nice if they gave all their customers the love instead of just a few.
juanadeal Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 I did get a kit. I got out of Sears early enough to get to Target by 5:30. They had about1000 of them. Nothing special. It's a thin red canvas bag with a tag that says Join the Race, Here are a few things to give you the stamina you need for the shopping marathon ahead of you. Came with: -1.75 oz bag of Archer Farms Cinnamon Vanila Nut coffee grounds -Archer Farms Apple Cinnamon Raisin Breakfast Bar -2 oz box of bullseye dog animal crackers They also gave out a cute stuffed Target dog wearing a red jacket and holding a Target bag. Nothing special at all.
Shann Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 wow this brought back memories of those little bags Target used to give out years and years ago (like late 90s) and I remember our Target (from the midwest) even had coffee and donuts back then. That does suck that not many states were included... I wonder why? Doesn't matter, I didn't go there and won't be today.
dmmiller Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I got a kit too. :) I was there about 6:30, and they still had a bunch. Nice stress free crowd at our NEW target. :) HOpe it stays that way, it'll be my 1st stop every year.
Littleone816 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 We got the kit, but we didn't get the stuffed dog! Target was amazingly organized this year, and my 9 year old who was with me (his first time) had a ball! But when we got the survival kits, I was surprised at how chintzy they were. I thought that they'd have a little more in them... Linda
