tmc Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 So far... the deals SUCK... there isn't anything I'd really want to stand in line at 4-6am for this year... :-( boo hoo! I was expecting the suspense for some hot product to see a really cheap price, but so far it's been very lack-luster... over 90% of the products you see advertised for BF have been sold online for similar prices... the only difference is you get up early in the morning and you can buy it from your brick and mortar retailer for the same price PLUS SALES TAX. Very ideal. NOT!!!! Unless Walmart or the others who haven't leaked yet go OVERBOARD.. I'm sleeping IN. (walmart, cc, staples, bb, etc) This just might be the year to boycott BF. The SKY-HIGH GAS prices aren't helping my enthusiasm either!

The SKY-HIGHGAS prices aren't helping my enthusiasm either!I was already thinking the same thing!! Unless I find some great deals in the up coming ads, I might be doing MOST of my shopping online this season. My gas is now up over 3.26 and is climbing. The 3.26 gas station was out of the regular so you would have had to use the next one which was 3.49!!!!!!! It may just be cheaper to stay home and shop this year. 8o(
immortaljackwest Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 We are still waiting for a lot of the big boys.... BB,CC,WM,Target,Staples... etc... I wouldn't say it sucks so far....It all depends on what you are looking for.
H_Hancock Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 It's just as it happened last year. Until BB, CC, CUSA, Staples, etc. had their ads posted, the same cries of lackluster specials abounded. Just wait.....it'll get better.
RaineeDay1 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I hope it gets better because f this keeps up I wont be camping at BB. I will simply shop on line and stay warm

Melissa Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 None of what I consider the "good" ads are even out yet: Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, Best Buy, etc. Too early to be making a blanket statement like "all the deals suck".
krissy72 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I really liked the Sears ad, but can't wait to see the others.
nirvana4all Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 So far, very let down by all that are out so far EXCEPT sears. It was a little better than what I expected from sears. Wanna see WM, OD, BB, CC & compusa.
leefamily23 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I was thinking the same thing- no good ad's yet.
luv2shop2639 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I completely agree. The only thing that looks ok is the Sears Ad. I'll be getting up around 6AM if nothing changes....my favorite day of the year is starting to look like a disappointment.
Spotted1 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I'll say the Sears ad and the Office Max ones seemed fairly impressive. Granted, I'm really on the hunt for toys and neither had them, but there were some decent deals on other things in there.
andybrooke Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I agree, I haven't yet seen any deals worth going out for. I am hoping that Target, Meijer, Kmart Walmart and TRU will have some good deals to get me out on BF. I hope more ads come out soon. A deal on transformers or PS2 games may get me out. If not, I guess I will just shop online to save money on the gas prices as the nearest stores are 30 miles away from me. The Walgreen's ad seemed disappointing to me this year, hopefully once the full scan is up, there may be a reason to stop by that store.
hwolf6330 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Even if they all suck, I will still go. I love the rush of getting up real early and fighting the crowds. I can't break tradition.
i.feature Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Not all the deals are bad... Just nothing mind blowing yet. Retailers seem to have caught on that it doesn't really matter how good the deals are. People will still come out and spend their money.
delphernina Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 So far I'm pretty pleased - I'll be headed to Sears, Walgreens, and Office Max. I can't wait to see what the big boys want to show us.
dmmiller Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I'm okay with the sears ads.. but I dont usually react till I see the "big boys" ads. :) These other stores are ones I dont usually go to anyways. So another week, and we'll really know how its gonna be. (I cant wait!!!)
bsutton1 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Best Buy better come out today or tomorrow or by Friday at the latest.
pogiporkchop Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Even if they all suck, I will still go. I love the rush of getting up real early and fighting the crowds. I can't break tradition.Seconded! I love being out there people watching.
immortaljackwest Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Even if they all suck, I will still go. I love the rush of getting up real early and fighting the crowds. I can't break tradition.Same here.... I work it for 5 years. I was so happy when I finally could shop on BF. I can't see myself doing anything else.
Lidstrom Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I thought the 500 GB drive for $99.99 from Office Max sounded like a good deal. Not enough to get out early in the morning, but maybe to buy online. It usually retails for over twice that, I think.
Brad Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 sounds familiar: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=51691
Gurnee Al Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 So far, I'm very pleased -- actually more than last year. The quality of the deal depends on what you need or want. Unless of course, you're looking to sell BF items on eBay. In that case, it doesn't matter if you need it or want it, what matters is only the price and if you can turn around and sell it for a nice profit on eBay.
gkaussietykes4 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Good it's not me! I thought I was the only one who thought that all these so called deals stink, stank, stunk! So, far I only have bought 6 gifts for my 3. I got those in the begining of the year when they were having really good deals. I remember when KBtoys use to email me in Oct or Nov where they put all these toys for sale for 9.99. I mean the really expensive stuff, not the junky ones like they have now. These past years it's been bad, so I don't wait any more I try to buy throughout the year now!
mrn8 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I guess it all depends on what deals you are looking for. I've got a list of things that I'm interested in getting for my home workshop, so I'm pretty happy with the Sears ad.
kfinto65 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 The deals do suck so far.... Hopefully Staples, CC and BB will have something great.
MeliesMom Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Even if they all suck, I will still go. I love the rush of getting up real early and fighting the crowds. I can't break tradition.Last year was my first BF experience. It was my daughter's 1st xmas, which she was only 3 months. I still wanted to get up and go. It was the first one I really didn't have to work. My mom stayed home and watched my daughter and me and my boyfriend went out. We didn't really get that much stuff, but I loved being out in all the action and the excitement of xmas right around the corner. I love it. I am waiting on the big ads too. But even if there is nothing really good this year, I will still go out just for the heck of it. My mom doesn't understand why I would want to be out in that mess. It's fun though!! I am sure I will end up buying some things anyway too.

And then they'd complain that the lines were too long. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/LOL/N1Groaner.gif So who's staying home?
wyntyrose Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Stay home...I think not. Even with bad deals I wouldn't miss the crazy's fighting over 3 dollar dvds.
