theboyzmom Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Not only am I done shopping, but I wrapped it all this weekend!!!! ARRRRGGGHHHHHHH I need just one 'big' gift for my 'middle' child (he changed his mind on what he thought he REALLY wanted), but other than that, I could officially be "Done" <shiver at the thought> (and yes, this includes the large load of toys for tots donations too) Of course I'm still going out on BF (hopefully my one gift search will be enough 'excuse'...as if I really needed one lol) So who else out there is anal enough to be done wrapping like me....it's a sickness, I know...we need our own support group....lol
vicloo Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 You better head straight to the E.R. lol. I am so jealous of all the organized people out there. Now you have the entire holiday season to take it easy and really enjoy. Good for you!!!
theresamax Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I don't want to start wrapping until after I see what I buy on black friday. I have 3 boys and I have to divide out the toys fairly. So I have to know exactly how much I buy for each. Then I usually wrap a few presents everyday until I am done
abentley Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I am trying to be strong. I have finished all of my shopping as of this a.m.. I just have to wait till after Thanksgiving to wrap. We don't really put any "stay at home' gifts under the tree, do to little boys peeking.
amez74 Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I've wrapped everything I purchased so far. With four kids and dh plus family to buy for if I waited until I was completely done I would go insane trying to wrap it all. It's just easier if I wrap as I go. However I then have to keep very detailed lists of what I've bought!
christib327 Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Can you come wrap mine now?? lol...I HATE wrapping really really bad. I was just thinking this morning that I should get started so that I don't have so much to do at once, but I just can't talk myself into it.
kieransmummy Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Goodness, I haven't started shopping yet, let alone wrapping. Ir feels a little early too me, I like to feel in the Christmas spirit before I start wrapping :)
pogiporkchop Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Can't start wrapping until I actually buy some presents I'm waiting on some wrapping paper I ordered from my son for his fall fundraiser too.
cincygurl Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Walgreens is running a great sale on wrapping paper this week. Buy 1 roll get 2 free. They are doing the same deal for their gift tags and Christmas cards too. A "barrel" of curling ribbon is 25 cents each. I stocked up yesterday.
elena_398 Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 100% done with the kids, but haven't wrapped as yet. I dread that job.
jbdinos Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I am done shopping for the kids, just need 3 adult gifts and one of them I know what I am getting for 2 of them. I almost started wrapping yesterday... got the paper out, and the notebook with "the list", got out two boxes to wrap.. and.. well the paper and gifts are still in my bedroom in the middle of the floor.... However, I hope to get most if not all wrapped over the weekend. Then I can sit back, relax, etc.. plus good way to double check my list to make sure if I got anything I forgot to write down and make sure I didn't write something down that I changed my mind about.... I will number the gifts and put a number next to each thing on my list so no nosy children can figure out what gifts are theirs.... I am a bit of a meany weenie that way!
doublehsmom Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I was going to start wrapping got everything out and dh brought the kids home and well they came right to my room..lol..so I didn't get anything done and threw everything into the closet so they wouldnt see and well thats where it sits now. DD b day is the 17th (opening morning of deer hunting here) anyways so I have to get thing in order for her b day and then its smoot sailing into wrapping! B sides that I was thinking that maybe waiting till I got home on black friday and wrap everything then..
Shortness Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I don't want to start wrapping until after I see what I buy on black friday. I have 3 boys and I have to divide out the toys fairly. So I have to know exactly how much I buy for each. Then I usually wrap a few presents everyday until I am done I usually wait and see how fairly I've done it as well. This year though, it's going to be hard, as the kids have already become curious. They know I've been shopping for Christmas, as I'm not letting them see where boxes are coming from or letting them open them. I do have everything on a spread sheet, so I think I'll have to start wrapping soon. I'm just proud of myself for having most of the kids' shopping done. I usually don't get it done so early, so it's a huge relief. Now, just to figure out what to get dh and relatives...
cleverbffool Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I have wrapped mostly everything but will wait to put ribbon and bows on so they dont get smushed.
vsa3janes Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 My DD has all her shopping and wrapping completed. I have only her gifts to buy but have nothing wrapped. I'd rather wrap and put right under the tree instead of moving them around multiple times. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
justjessie99 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I don't want to start wrapping until after I see what I buy on black friday. I have 3 boys and I have to divide out the toys fairly. So I have to know exactly how much I buy for each. Then I usually wrap a few presents everyday until I am doneThat's what we do.. make sure I have enough for both boys .... then I wrap.
MzSasy Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Dang, I must be the WORST mother in the world. I am pregnant with my second child and haven't even bought 1 gift for anyone for Christmas yet. The joys of being younge and not being smart and saving or buying earlier in the year or at the end of the year when stuff goes on clearance. Great...this is a downer LOL...Thanks! j/k....I usually do everything last minute and it works out well... Oh and I LOVE wrapping! I sware I would wrap for money if I could get away with it! LOL
Christy Garner Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 Haven't started wrapping. Possibly will be in the mood this weekend. I need to get the bonus room cleaned FIRST and I dread it because I am having two trees this year. The one in the bonus room will have all the presents under it so I need to clean out, rearrange, etc.
CocoaDiva43 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I love to wrap coming from a large family of nine kids with 12 neices and nephews you cant wait until the last minutes to mail all those package...:)
dd50 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I haven't started yet. I use to be so good and wrap as I bought things and it didn't pile up but the last few years I wrap for about a week every night. I have bought all the presents for my grandchildren as they will be moving across country in early December so I do have to get moving on that.
elena_398 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I have to get more tags then I can at least start. I tend to way overbuy after BF so this year Im hoping to wrap BEFORE I head out to make sure one child didn't get too much. My youngest is a girl and she wants everything and I tend to keep buying for her as her items go on sale cheap. Im pomise Im trying to get better! Haha.
theboyzmom Posted November 6, 2007 Author Posted November 6, 2007 lol I gave up on bows and tags years ago...I pick a different color paper for each 'family' (that way when loading up to go to the party, we don't even have to look at 'tags', just pick the right paper!), I just write right on the package with a black sharpie marker! I found that the tags got lost during packing, or kids, or dogs, etc but marker never comes off and it makes it go so much faster! I gave up on the bows cause even if I waited till the last few days, they still got all smushed under the tree (we have so many people to buy for, and have 3 kids that it's a HUGE pile...it spreads out and stacks up all over under and around the tree)
sbwolfer Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I won't start wrapping probably until the beginning of December. Then I wrap but don't put bows or ribbon on yet. I wait until the presents go under the tree to do that.
Bunniq Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I have wrapped most of the gifts I have bought this year. I still need to get stickers, name tags, and maybe ribbons and bows. Usually I will wrap Thanksgiving weekend, but this year I will be working that weekend so I figured I should get a jump on things. I am so happy that I did!
mcapel4444 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I haven't started wrapping yet. Thought about it, but haven't really been by myself too much, to get a start on it. I did manage to dig out part of my wrapping paper. I still have a big box, that is buried in the garage. Also need to find my tape. I swear I have 34578435 rolls of scotch tape, somewhere in the house. lol
guilliam Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 DH wouldn't know what to do if I didn't keep him up 1/2 the night on Christmas eve wrapping presents!! I'm lucky if I get one present wrapped before then! I'm SOOOOO jealous of those of you so organized!!
chilimak Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Wow, I do admire those of you who are finished shopping and even wrapping already. I have just barely started shopping and just bought some wrapping paper at Hallmark today. We got our first snowfall of the year today and its looking very Christmasy outside now. I am in a shopping mood, but won't have money to shop till Friday. So, I bought some wrapping paper with good intentions, lol. I have to admit, I don't usually start wrapping until we have the tree up. There's just something about sitting on the living room floor near the tree, surrounded by gifts to wrap, wrapping paper, and Christmas music on the stereo. Really gets me in the mood for wrapping. I do plan on getting the stocking stuffers out of the way this weekend though. Every year I wait till the last minute to buy them and am never really thrilled with what I end up buying. This year, I am putting more thought into them and plan on getting most of the stuff this weekend, as well as the traditional pajamas and ornaments I give my kids on Christmas eve every year. Again, I want to get them early for better selection. That, and I won't have a whole lot of money to work with, only about $100. But, that should cover the pjs, ornaments and stocking stuffers, maybe even a gift or two if I'm lucky. Elena
