I was at WM today looking around and the electronics manager told me that they had received notification that all the WM chains will be getting mass quanities of the Wii for BF. I don't know the price. I guess we will have to wait and see.

All games systems have a set MSRP, the Wii is $249 for the basic bundle. If it's a new bundle with some games (besides Wii Sports) and extra stuff, then it might be more. Wii's are out there, in stores and online, you just have to check regularly to get one, they sell out fast.

I work the service desk at a SWM and most of what you've said here is incorrect. ;)

We go by company policy and that policy is:

As for other merchandise, you can return without a receipt but you must provide photo ID, as you can only do it twice a year. Returns without a receipt is an automatic gift card.

Incorrect. You have 3 times in 45 days to return items without a receipt, after that you will be denied. (I'd always thought it was 90 days but we recently had meetings and management said it was 45).

Also, anything under $10 is cash back. Above $10, is an automatic gift card.

If you return with a receipt within 30 days, then you can opt for either a gift card or cash. If you return within 90 days with a receipt, then your refund is a gift card for the amount.

Also incorrect, to a point. Our policy is w/receipt within 90 days, period, on everything except electronics. 15 days on electronics.. if it's music or movies, with or without a receipt, the only thing you can do is an even exchange for the exact same thing. If we don't have it, sorry about your luck.

The only time we do refunds back on gift cards is when they don't present a receipt, or if they specifically ask for a gift card. Otherwise, the refund is given back to the customer in the form that they paid.

If they used their credit card, it goes back to the credit card. If they want the cash back instead of it going back to the credit card, they must present their credit card to us first. If they don't show it, it goes back to the credit card, period. This is for the cardholders protection. Some Joe Blow off the street could've picked that receipt up, gone into the store and grabbed the item and came up to "return" it.

If they used debit, it's cash back.

If they wrote a check, it's cash back since Walmart electronically presents the checks now.

My store, specifically, also will do price matches without the customer bringing in the ad to "prove" anything. I'm sure it bites us in the arse at times. I know for a fact that I've rung people up who are lying about stuff being on sale. So instead of making the customers bring in the ads, we keep all the weekly ads with us so if we feel the need to check, we can.

Welll then, somebody needs to tell the CSMs in Paintsville Kentucky, because my post is how they do it here. Of course, not all walmarts do it the same. That we've learned multiple times over, haven't we?

They will announce that one on the website the day before is that how that is suppose to go?? Or will there be an ad for Thanksgiving Day??? That is the sale I have really not heard or read much about. Just saw something on line yesterday where wal-mart said they expect to get 50 % more people in the store on Thanksgiving day. That Thanksgiving ad has my curiosity up.

I used to work service desk at WM too and every store does differ and every manager differs. We knew that if 'so and so' was working today to not bother just give the customer what they want (unless it was a repeat thief). Then there was managers who would back us up so then we followed the store policies. For the most part WM is leniet so it's always a good place to return things.

I hate that too. We had mandatory cashier meetings a couple of weeks ago that stated all these "changes" being made. We're always told it's company policy.

Some of these changes are dumb too.

We're not supposed to hand customer change directly to them. We're supposed to count it out on the counter to them and they pick it up.

Also, after being in the register and before we place our hands in any pockets or bags, we have to show our hands (kinda like dealers in casinos).

We can no longer bring small purses up front with us (used to be you could if it was very small and clear so they could see in it).

Registers are now to be audited after 2 people have been on it, and before the 3rd gets on. Not sure about the rest of the stores but I know at my store we have a bunch of service desk trained people and when the desk gets busy, people jump up there to help out. Apparently this audit thing applies to the desk also. :eyepoppin The CSM podeum has to be audited by each CSM at the beginning of their shift and at the end of it. We have 6 CSMs not counting 3rd shift.. it's crazy..

That depends. Our Wal-mart (and I know a few others nearby) does not like to give refunds on electronic items AT ALL. Thinking about it, I have not received a refund at a Wal-mart in well over a year. They always give it in the form of a gift card so it has to be used at their stores.

I do have to agree with another post on here. Walmart does give a refund on electronic stuff just they have certain guidelines. Like the other post said 15 days and a reciept does help. Also it helps if the package is not open. I actually believe the 15 day policy is more for tv's and computers the big items in electronics. Whats the difference if u bought it 5 days before BF ...... ur still in the frame to return the item. Most of every thing else in the store is 90 days. You can use ur photo ID without a reciept but it is still up to the store wether they take it or not. I know in our walmart there is alot of items that people try to return and it is something that the particular store hasn't carried in months. There is no way for them to look the item up or to see what price it went out of the system at. Also if u take a look at other retail stores like kmart they mostly have the same policy as walmart.

I also want to remind everyone about the site to store options. It is a great program. You go to walmart.com and order the item to go to the nearest store to you with free shipping to that store. Yes there is good deals on the site. Like i seen a booster seat for kids. 2 pack for a cheap price only offered online. That is a great item if u had twins but not everyone has twins so it wouldn't sell good in the stores shelfs. Go and check it !!! Oh also there is some stuff that goes clearance online before it does in the store so maybe .... u could just find that bath robe u were looking for or wonderful dress shirt. happy shopping everyone.
