My kids and I just got back from "booing" a number of their friends.. we have gotten boo'ed before and boo'ed the 2 other obligatory people but this was the first time we bought a bunch of bags and they made them for all their friends. They had the best time ringing the doorbells and running away...they're already asking to go next year!!

(For those of you that don't know booing is when you fill a small bag with candy or some kind of treats, put a card in it that says something to the effect of "you've been boo'ed, now boo 2 other people and continue the fun". Then you drop it off on the persons front door step, ring the bell and run. You don't put your name on it so the person has to guess who sent it to them, and then they're supposed to boo 2 other people)

I love this and do it every yr...saw some actual boo kits at the small mart this weekend(typically we do the photo copy and buy our own bags) but opted to do both this yr(kits from wal mart & use our photo copies) since we wanted to "boo" neighbors,2 parents on our football team(we do this at practice) and it is a service project for the pta at our childrens school where we "boo" 2 teachers....

what did you put in your sacks? we do candy, popcorn balls, erasers etc...

this is such a blast!

We have done this for the past 9 years in our neighborhood. The kids get a big kick out of it.:gdrunner:

I have also seen the kits in the store, but that kind of takes some of the fun and personal touches out of it.

I saw the boo kits but they were like 3.99 a bag.. you can make a bunch of your own for the same price... my girls had a great time .. I cut orange paper into a pumpkin shape and outlined the eyes, nose and mouth..., the 7yoa wrote the boo message, the 5yoa colored in the eyes, nose and mouth with a black marker and the 3yoa got to put candy in the bags...

This was really the first time we've done a bunch so it was all candy..but they had so much fun I'd probably go all out next year...

Our neighborhood did it last year and I've heard it started again this year but I haven't been booed yet....I did however already get my bags ready in preparation :)

OK, I was out shopping this evening and when I came home at about 9:50, DH told me we got Booed 2x between 9-9:30. Well, by the time I came home and unpacked the bags, I thought it was too late to try to scrounge around for stuff to make up bags, let alone type up the 'Boo' letter from scratch and ring someone's doorbell - it would have been at least 10:30 at night! Should I have done it anyway? I feel bad, because tomorrow I will be running around like an idiot all day/night with kids parties, trick or treating and various other commitments and should I even do it on halloween night?!?! I feel like such a heel!

i boo'd 2 of my neighbors, this is my first year doing it.

i basically just filled cauldron's with candy and playdoh tubs and little yo-yo's etc. Thought I was real slick popping them on their doorsteps, ringing the doorbell, and taking off.

Only...

I forgot to put the boo notes in the cauldron's :o

I first boo'd one little girl from our playgroup and one girl next door. Then my kids got boo'd. Then I boo'd the little boy on the other side and his mom. I put some baby things in there for him and some of rude bunny things for his mom. She loved it and her and I hooked up to boo more people. We boo'd two little girls who we don't know well but know could use some cheering up. And the absolute best...

We boo'd the single guys in the neighborhood! We went out all covert like. One of them almost caught us and I did some totally movie-like stunt and dropped and rolled under his deck before he saw me. I have no clue how I got under there!!! Before I knew it, I was laying flat on my back looking at the bottom of his deck about 3" from my face. He didn't actually "catch" us, but he told my friend from next door, "You guys are too funny!"

We got him a can of Red Bull, a pack of cigarettes, some lottery tickets, a big nasty bone for his dog, and some candy.

For our other friend we got a set of Friday the 13th shot glasses and a pint of Southern Comfort, along with a bunch of candy. We also set a second bag for his son, who is a middle school aged kid and happened to be there the night we were boo'ing.

Both of those guys were really excited!

Today I got boo'd. :D

I love boo'ing!!! It is so much fun!
