poofu02 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Does anyone else have to drive far to get to the closest retail store?? I have to drive 80 miles. My town has a Pamida and that is it for shopping, besides locally owned stores that have expensive merchandise. The next town over has a mall, Walmart, Kmart, Target, Best Buy, and so on. Is it worth it to drive for you? It is for me!
Kalel Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 2 hours from Monterrey, Mexico to Laredo, Tx. Best Buy, Target or Circuit City will be my destination this year.
kellane26 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I live in a small town, but we do have a Wal-Mart and a JCPenny so I just stay around the house. It's 45 miles to any other stores.
bugsette Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 no.... Target is about 5 min Kmart about 10 min and Walmart abut 20 min
Aaron Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I'm not sure if I would drive more than 15-30 minutes to get to the closest store. Before 2001 we didn't have anything but now, say 'Hello' to Columbus Park Crossing! :) http://www.thejordanco.com/jordan/images_jordan/colspark_new.jpg (this is only Phase I of IV or V) -- it now includes Kohls, Super Walmart, Sams, Dicks, etc, etc.
christib327 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Our town has super Wal-mart, staples, peebles, goody's, big lots and that kind of thing. We have to drive at least 30 minutes to find a best buy and at least 45 min to find a mall of any kind and a better selection of stores. So....we make the drive. It's worth it :)
happysunshine28 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Our town has a Dollar General so yes I drive but not as far as you do. Next town doesnt have a target or best buy but hopefully one day they will it is growing like crazy.
conj Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 there is the worlds smallest walmart a couple towns over. (in a mall with a variety of mini-sized stores :)) 45 min - 1 hr to get to big box stores
gingersunshine Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Our town has a Dollar General so yes I drive but not as far as you do. Next town doesnt have a target or best buy but hopefully one day they will it is growing like crazy. mine has only a dollar general, too. but they are building a walmart and target (i think) in the next town over. i just live in a little town that has really nothing!!! i have to drive about 40 miles to do the BF shopping.
shopping mom Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Only a Dollar General and A dollar tree here, I drive about 20-25 minutes to get to Target, 35-40 for almost anything else. Toys R us is probably the furtherest. But depending on the route I take I can be at one of three malls in that time.
Rockfordmom Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I'm lucky - I'm maybe 5 minutes away (if you hit all red lights) from a Walgreens and CVS in one direction; the Mall (Sears, JCPenney, Macys, Bergners), Menards, Toys-r-us, MC Sports in the other direction; just a couple more minutes away from Kohls, Michaels, Target, Kmart, Joannes Fabrics, Old Navy, Radio Shack; and maybe 10 minutes from Wallyworld, Sams Club, Best Buy, Circuit City, Lowes, and Home Depot. We pretty much have every store close by.
Tracy72 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I have to drive an hr to get to a walmart...kmart...goodys....fashion bug...krogers...so needless to say we only go shopping on Sat....no just run and grab it
Rebirth Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 No, most are 15 minute drive. But it's hard to find all the stores together. Once place I go to has most of the big names stores. Stapes is the only one missing.
peifgirl Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 i drive 30 mins to the town i do all my shopping and yes i make the journey for BF
jellybean051901 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I have a WM, Kohls, KM, Sears hardware, and Target about 10 minutes away as well as many smaller stores. I am glad I don't have to go far especially since I always have to stop at home and unload
bethanykay6 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 we too have a local pamida. they have awesome clearance deals. 30 miles away is walmart and the other way 30 miles there is a super walmart and they are building a walgreens. 60 miles away is the big malls, target, super target, kmarts, walgreens and all the big stores like jcpenny, sears, stuff like that
elena_398 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Im lucky too. The furthest store away from me is Best Buy and still thats only 10 minutes away. Walmart is right around the corner pretty much. Kmart too but in the opposite direction. Target just went in right by Kmart
marcimomof4 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 We are about 100 miles away from a major city. I will go and spend the night with my sister and go.
likewhoa Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I used to live smack dab in the middle of everything. But we've moved a little further away so this year I'll have to drive about 50 miles to get to that same area. Where we're able to hit the mall, target, wal-mart, sams club, bbb, lowes and home depot, etc. all within three minutes of each other.
Gurnee Al Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I'm within 1 mile of about 10 great BF stores. Easy to load my car up, drive back home to empty it, then go back out again!
jarerice Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 No, but this year we will take a truck and my car. Last year we only took the truck and almost ran out of room.
l77 Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 It only takes 5 min and I have the mall bb cc target walmart sam's any pretty much ever other local store!
Melissa Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 We are 30 minutes away from any major stores, but I'm used to it. I can't imagine having a Target, Walmart, etc. right around the corner! The only "chain" store in this one-horse town is Stewart's!
Kandy Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I'm not sure if I would drive more than 15-30 minutes to get to the closest store. I drive either an hour to the above in Columbus or an hour to Dothan to go shopping. The only thing we have is a Reg. Walmart.
sm1kla Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 I have strip malls anchored with Walmarts 15-20 minutes east and west of where I live. Each strip mall has different stores so we will mix it up based on other stops. The closest mall is 35 minutes.
AmberSatterwhit Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I live in a podunk town 45 minutes from ANYTHING...praise the Lord I'll be with my parents this year near Dallas, TX where there's a Walmart on every street corner....
