iloveblkfriday Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 I purchased one of the 150. computers last year and I still have it and it still works great I couldnt live w/o it so if there is another I recommend buying if you are looking for a cheap but good computer!! just to let some know!
stationchief Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 It was ok. Not the best, certainly not anything I'd play Halo 2 on, but good enough for internet and basic household use. Here's hoping they'll take things up a notch this year.
davephillyj Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 I want something for basic internet use and office use. No games or anything. Hope someone has something good Without REBATES involved (which we never get back at this time of year!)
stationchief Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 You'll need a monitor for that as well. The $150 one from last year was just the computer in the box, and maybe the keyboard, mouse, and cheap speakers. At least that gives you a chance to buy exactly the type of monitor you want.
davephillyj Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 I can use any old monitor, I aint picky...... I just want it to go when I need it to and not freeze up all the time! I have my older Dell the I upgraded from, I can use it at the office. ( Rarely go into the office!)
jellybean051901 Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 We bought my dad the computer last year and he loves it. He plays games and uses it for the internet. The games aren't anything fantastic. It works for him.
stationchief Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 ... Without REBATES involved (which we never get back at this time of year!)Wal-Mart is pretty BF rebate-free and loving it!
katiejack Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Could one of you tell me more about the computer that was offered last year at the $150 price? Did it have a burner of some sort on it (CD or DVD)? Other specs. would be helpful also. Thank you!
AndreaInNC Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 I picked up one of these too! It came with a CD/DVD burner and that was pretty much it. The one I picked up for $150.00 did NOT come with a monitor. No problems with our either.

TENIA66 Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 We picked up one of these 150.00 deals too, there were only three available in our stores. we thought we were going to be assaulted for it on the way out, but we did it. it works great for browsing, watching dvds, listening to music, homework.
jellybean051901 Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 We picked up two last year. Our WM had a whole pile of them. I think they had leftovers on Saturday.
AndreaInNC Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I ended up picking up a 22" LCD monitor from PCConnections last year for under $100.00 after rebates. Getting the rebate back took about 5 months, but it was worth the effort.
LoDucafan67 Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Wow!! Where was I?!?!?! I didn't know that they had a $150 computer!! Boy do I need one this year. Does anyone who got one of these computers, did they get theirs at a WMSC?! That was open 24 hours?
AndreaInNC Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I got mine from a super center. It was a mess and it was a good thing I had the flyer cause the manager had no clue about the computer. They took my name and phone number and said when they found them they'd call me. They called me Saturday to say they finally found them. The price on the box was $398.00! It did not come with a monitor. I think it was up to the local store to come up with them. The ad was really vague and had no brand name listed. I ended up with an EMachine.
t_mulkey Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Wow!! Where was I?!?!?! I didn't know that they had a $150 computer!! Boy do I need one this year. Does anyone who got one of these computers, did they get theirs at a WMSC?! That was open 24 hours?I actually got 3 of them last year at a WMSC. They would not let us take it out of the black wrap until 5 am though. It was crazy. I had to pay seperate for each. I stood in line for two hours. When they finally brought them on the floor. I made friend with the associate. She said she would turn her head when I was getting the ones I needed. I just lucked out. They work great for my boys and husband. I also found a great 19' Flat panel Monitor at Target w/o a rebate for a little over a $100. Now my oldest son wants a laptop.
Vickis3js Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 How soon would someone have to get in line for one of them?? I need 2 maybe 3 pcs this year for my kids. They are still little but they love doing their reading programs on the pc and I am nervous letting them on mine. Is that an all day and night camp out?

Last year the WM we went to had a huge pile of them and they did not seem to be going that fast
CarpeDiem Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I got one of the $598 emachines for $150 our store had like 10 I think, I was first in line...it had monitor too, and it's awesome using it now. :)
darkzone Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Last year i bought a complete pc for $168.00 from BB on BF it came with a 15inch Flat panel LCD and a printer..cant beat that
8truths Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Our store had five eMachines for $125 last year. 3.2 GHz Celeron, 512 Mb RAM, 80 Gb HD and CD-RW/DVD ROM combo drive. BTW, each store was given just whatever was available to send to them. Our store has never carried an eMachine, so this was a surprise to me. I'm looking to replace one of spare machines this year. Should be a pretty good chance they use BF this year to clear out the single-core systems. If so, there could be some Pentiums and Athlon 64s hiding out in the BF computers. But, I do really wish we had a Best Buy in the area.

You got an extra piece of paper with the rest of the listings on it when you walked in the door.
