stacy0479 Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Does anyone know what kind of deals Lowes had last year on BF? DH is wanting a few tools and I would like to know if I should make that one of my stops on BF! TIA!!
Brad Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 We have a list of last year's ad items, but IIRC, Lowes was one of the stores that had their lawyers contact us to remove the ad from the site, so the items probably won't be on there.
stacy0479 Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 I did see the list from last year and noticed Lowes wasn't on there. Thanks anyway!
mamapenguin Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there was a bigger problem with Lowe's last year. I don't know about tools, but wasn't there a television...........maybe lcd advertised that people lined up & waited for only to find out there were none available? Supposedly, employees were aloud to by them before customers who lined up waiting for the store to open. I also think the stock was very limited (under 5 per store). Am, I wrong? Wasn't it Lowe's that did this? I will not be wasting my door buster time there.
shopping mom Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I know they had a tool box last year, maybe the year before and a De-Walt drill my DS wanted. I am sure they had a few others also but my mind is blank at the moment

nick_jenni_jocelyn Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I dont know if it was last year or not, but I know that one year Lowes had a shop-vac for like $20 and I believe it was a good sized one. I am hoping they have one again this year since now with 2 kids, i seem to clean out the cars a lot more and dont like to use my house vacuum, lol.

Funny story, we live in San Diego and a couple of weeks ago it was really hot and we have no A/C in our house so we went to walk around Lowes. I told him to give me ideas for Christmas, now I have a whole page of things he wants there! LOL
krstee Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I know that Lowes was one of my stops last year. I got a curved shower curtain ( <- shaped like that so it gave you more room in the shower. I also picked up some poinsettias (they were like $1.66 each) and a cutting board. They didn't have a ton of great deals, but there were NO lines when I went there around 6:30 am last year.

The size was very large and Dh LOVED it, totally wasn't expecting it!

I may have picked up a crock pot (larger one too) for $9.99 along with 5x7 rugs for $19.99. Not real busy but for what I wanted good deals.
stacy0479 Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 You guys have me excited to see that ad!! If I could get a Shop Vac for DH he would be thrilled!
nedsw33 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Yeah, for the past 2 years lowes has had their store brand 12gallon shop vac on sale for about $25. Home depot has had a similar sale also, which is where I got my shop vac two years ago (BF05). Reason being is because it was Ridgid brand, instead of a store brand. Either way, a good deal! Also, there really is no need to go very early to a store like Lowes or THD. I've gone to both the past two years and with each time, people didn't start lining up until 30minutes before store opening. I guess the power tool types aren't as die hard as the electronic types... haha!
masilke Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 biggest deal for us at lowes were the cases of logs for the fireplace............ $8.00 for a $20.00 case..
cherry33778 Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I worked for Home Depot for 2 yrs and they usually have their doorbusters until 9 or 10 o'clock, but if it's an lcd then it goes faster than that. They are usually my last stop.
LadyIzShy Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Lowes and HD Normally have decent sales BF. I will make it a point to stop one of the 2 places. I am in need of a new drill as SOMEONE keeps borrowing mine.
Azzycat Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 I was at Lowe's last year. Let me see what I can recall... The shopvac was $29. I bought it for my parents for Christmas. They love it. I THINK it was this one last year: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=215728-20097-93010-11&lpage=none They sold out of the ones on the floor and I walked down the shop vac aisle and was able to find it on the top shelf. It was NOT a special BF model, it was a model they regularly carried in the store, just had to match the model number from the ad. So if they sell out on the pallet, check the shop vac aisle. Target usually has shop vac accessories clearance in the spring. Lowe's had a toilet set for $30 or so (tank, bowl, no seat)Drill settool setsPoinsettas half priceLED flashlights (I think they were the no battery type)storage bins (plastic, Tupperware variety)boxes of firewood (GREAT deal on this, like 50-70% off, depending where you normally buy it)pre-lit Christmas tree extended financing and 0% interest on appliances I'd like to say there were some bigger priced items in the ad for special pricing too but I can't guarentee. I remember walking down the aisle around some huge pallets of things I had no interest in. Most people that get there at store opening are after the drill and tool sets.
jbdinos Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 They had a nice step ladder last year too. And our local Lowes still had a skid of them on Saturday. I had stopped to get one for our grandfather for Christmas at the bigger town I went to for BF shopping and they were out The next day I stopped in our local store and there they were.... he LOVED it and hasn't fallen off of it like he did his old rickety wooden one.
Guest hugle Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Lowes also had 4 cell Mag lights BF last year for 9.99 :-) I gave them to everybody and they loved them!
immortaljackwest Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Did they have any drills on sale last year... I really could use a new one.
cinder Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 biggest deal for us at lowes were the cases of logs for the fireplace............ $8.00 for a $20.00 case..Same here. They have had this for the past 3-4 years, and we always pickup 6 cases. The cases of logs are going this year for around $28 up here, I may get more. I always make them my last stop and they always have plenty.
jaymacfla Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=pg&p=Promos/SuperFriday.html Latest info where you can sign up for their Super Friday.
spamadillo Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I've gotten some good deals a Lowes in the past. 6ft fiberglass ladder for $30, Black & Decker 18v drill for $30, Shop Vac for $30, Toaster Oven for $20. They usually have some mag lights, tape measures, laser levels and such. We got a new front load washer and dryer last year for around $700 after rebate.
JeffPerk Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 It was Home Depot that had the TV's last year.I had no problem getting 1 of the 32" 1080I HD LCD's for $478 or whatever the price was last year. We hit Wal*Mart in Shrewsbury, PA1st & got all our 5 am specialswe wanted, then went across the street to Home Depot & got in line & when they opend at 6, we were 1 of the 1st 3 in the store & got the TV. They had 10 of the 32" & 10 of the 42". We were very happy with the deals we hit at Wal*Mart & Home Depot. 10 of each size of TV is a fair amount for a BF deal. The TV is great & what a great deal it was.
southernrain Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I was by Home Depot last year and through the door when they opened at 6 and didn't even get to see the TV. They were GONE!! Actually I did get to see the very last one being pulled onto a flat bed cart. HD must be busy regionally.
Marcster Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I was by Home Depot last year and through the door when they opened at 6 and didn't even get to see the TV. They were GONE!! Actually I did get to see the very last one being pulled onto a flat bed cart. HD must be busy regionally. There was an article in our local paper (the Morning Call - Lehigh Valley, PA) about this exact same thing happening at the Home Depot in Whitehall, PA. It seems that the employees and management bought the TVs for themselves **before** opening their doors on BF. The customers never had a chance -- they were lining up outside in the cold for nothing!
MeliesMom Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I was at Lowe's last year. Let me see what I can recall... The shopvac was $29. I bought it for my parents for Christmas. They love it. I THINK it was this one last year: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=215728-20097-93010-11&lpage=noneWe have this sitting in the laundry room right now. I bought it last year on BF for my boyfriend. I do believe it is the same one in the link. I think it was $29 or $27. They always have shop vacs on sale every year. I went to get the one at home depot and they were sold out, they didn't have very many at all! The Lowes was piled high with their shop vacs so I had to get that one. As far as the TV's from Home Depot- I was wondering why Home Depot had tv's. I remember seeing it in the ad but not at the store. Maybe the employees got all of them??
