I'm renting a premium car and named my price of 60 but the problem is I live near a airport and they only let you pick the car up at the airport. two day rental 120 plus 52 in fees and tax. does anyone else find that crazy or have you guys used another name your own price place and got a great deal. thanks bryan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I fly into Dayton, Ohio & rent through Avis. I always reserve online the cheapest "compact" car. Every single time I have always been upgrades to an SUV because they don't have compact cars. I usually use a coupon from the Entertainment book. Like rent 3 days get 4th free or free tank of gas. One thing to remember too, renting from the airport location is unlimited miles. I know I get upgraded to a gas hog SUV but I don't want to be a sardine in a can in a compact car. If you know your going to do a lot of driving like I do, then airport rental maybe the way to go. I land in Ohio & drive 200 miles into Kentucky to reach my parents home. This past Sept. I got an Escalade for 5 days for $75. It was a PITA sometimes to have to drive all the way to the airport to pickup/return but well worth the savings I got in unlimited miles and naming my own price. I usually went with the full size car (Ford Taurus?) or SUV (Blazer) and paid anywhere from $17 a day for the car + priceline fees to $33 a day for the SUV + fees. The car rental feature is one of priceline's best attributes, with hotels being a close second. It sometimes takes a bit to learn how to bid, but we have rented cars for as low as 17 / day. Availability and timing are big deals with respect to whether you can get the car or not. Airport fees can add significantly to the cost. Priceline rentals are highly market dependant. I got a very reliable confirmation from an inside guy that this code is black listed now. Effective immedately, all benfits associated with code are removed(including free LDW insurance), anyone use this code will pay maxiumum rack rate regardless of reservation or website showing rate as well as company ID must be produced. A warning flag has been raised on this AWD and most likely you will be questioned about where you got the code. All in all, this code is nothing but trouble from now on.
