Marcster Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Our cats normally get canned Friskies or the equivalent for "breakfast" and "dinner". They have dry food and water out all the time too. For Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and Easter, I'll give them canned Fancy Feast (a turkey variety for T-Giving and Christmas). I'd give them ham flavor on Easter, but they don't seem to make that. Does anyone else do this with their pets, or am I the only freak? http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Animals/catyum.gif I'd give them Fancy Feast all the time, but with seven of them, it would get a little expensive...
BEE4 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 No, you are not. My dogs actually get a package from Dr. Fosters and Smith full of goodies that is adressed to them. I know it is silly but they love it, they are all over that package when I bring it home.
bayhaysay Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Buck gets a stocking full of goodies on Christmas morning. He also eats really well on holidays. He gets the leftover ham/turkey platter. :)
Lvnlakers78 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I only do it on Christmas! Mine get it in there stocking! And they get a gift under the tree!! My kids get a big kick out of it!
jeninpa Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Of course the 2 goats will get something from Santa for Christmas thats good to eat, lol. Probably a bag of Dorito's, some animal crackers & a pack of peanut butter crackers, lol. My new puppy is just getting a toy. I don't trust her belly enough to give her a different food yet, lol.

I do the same thing. I buy my kittys Fancy Feast for Holidays too
Kandy Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Mine get stockings and special foods on holidays too ( the dogs and the cats get table food, ie ham/turkey/potatoes. My newest puppy is going to go to the vet and get her Rabies shot (itsn't that a great Christmas Present?)
pampam Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 My four kitty-girls always have special, more expensive food at Christmas and Thanksgiving. They also get a large plate of turkey, which they all love. Santa leaves presents for the kitties and this year there are two stockings full of soft toys and furry mice.
missyjane Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 My dog and cat will each have a stocking full of goodies and a present under the tree. My dog eats table scraps, dry dog food, and canned alpo, so there isn't really anything special to give him on the holidays other than our good food. My kitty is the same way, she doesn't seem to like the canned kitty food all that much, she only licks the gravy and walks away so we let her like the dog's gravy.
elena_398 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 My 2 furbabies will be getting 2 presents each. One of goodies and the other toys and a sweater. They usually only get dry food, but on holidays I buy them their favorite canned food. They devour it
misshayley Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I bought all the dogs in my family (a total of 5) butcher bones and they will get those while we are opening our presents.
alimfp Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Nope, we don't - ever. But they've never once had anything other than their own food, so they don't beg for ours when they smell it. Even if they did, no way would I give it to them! :)
decafmom Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Of course! He's part of the family too. Kaysar will get a stocking filled with treats and toys and Boo is giving him a new set of Nylabone keys as those are his favorite! His treats include some special treats from the dog bakery we visit.
racerfan Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Of course they get something special for the holidays. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter & their birthdays they get a taste of whatever we have. Christmas they also have their stockings which Santa Doggy & Santa Kitty fill for them. The dogs's stocking is put up with ours, and they smell it from the previous years goodies so they try to get it immediately. Merry Christmas to all the canine GottaDealers:tongue1:
theboyzmom Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 you better believe our dog gets a gift! he sits and watches the kids open their stuff and you can just see he wants to know what's for him lol he has a stocking and it always has dog cookies and a few toys in it...he gets so happy when the kids bring it to him!
candlesbytammy1 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 My furry children get gifts and special treats too. They have gifts from Santa paws, gift bags with toys and treats in them. I also give them a special meal...usually there normal cup of dog food and then a can of moist dog food. They love it and it's gone is seconds. I usually do these for special holidays throughout the year.
Gloey Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 My cat never gets his food changed, he eats dry only and I just don't believe in changing foods on him. He is getting a mouse that holds catnip, another little set of mice toys and a laser light thing for me to play with him.
hjones47 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 My bully babies will get a stocking with treats and goodies. They also have a box under the tree with 4 new rubber dog toys. For dinner they will get their normal kibble plus some boiled ground turkey and green beans. I love spoiling them as much as I love spoiling the kids!
tokanm Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Absolutely.....Fancy feast for breakfast, a new bed, toys and this year a nice new water fountain made just for pets, it keeps their water fresh and cold. They bring us so much joy that I could/would never exclude them! I also plan on going to the local shelter tomorrow with a few gifts for those unfortunate pets. My sons insist that is all I can do is visit and not adopt:p
Illinoismom Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I went out todqay and bought all the Animals a christmas treat, the Birds hace logs, the G.pig has Alfapha bars. the cats toys, and the 2 dogs bones, we forgot no one or thing this year
motoXmom Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 See my DH thinks I'm NUTS to HAVE to have Friskies Turkey&Giblets for them on Thanksgiving and Christmas. rofl! Yeah I'm not the only one!!!! They all get treat bags from Santa along with my dads dog and cat. Can't forget them! Now I have to show my hubby this thread, so he sees how normal I really am.
knb080998 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 My cat gets her regular food. If I give her something else it messes up her stomach and she ends up throwing up all over the floor.
elena_398 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I keep telling my furbabies "Santa"is coming tomorrow. lol. Their ears go up like they understand. Its funny because I put their one gift from the kids under the tree and they keep sniffing them. (treats in them). They are in a box and its wrapped so I cann't believe they can still smell the goodies. I may have to put them up till morning. lol
DramaQueenLucy Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 We give our babies a plate of whatever we have I really do make them up plates so they can have their dinner when we have ours. They also get tons of snacks from the kids all day crackers and cheese, chips, ect.. They ave one present each under the tree and I fill their stockings with treats. Last year I had wrapped treats but they got them before Christmas morning.. We found princess sitting in a pile of wrapping paper with a guilty look one her face and a full belly Christmas morning. She was bad but it was so cute.
lisamag Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 my dog and cats get what ever meat it is we're having. last yr on jan 4th we lost our ginger to caner and i regret not doing it but she was never in to toys, but sandy our new dog is 100% kid. she loves to play. so we got her some toys for a stocking and my 5yr dd put it up and i found the dog walking aound the house with it trying to get the toys out, so now i have it up till tonight lol.we got some toy fishing rods for the kids to play with the cats but the dog found those and now there gone so there went that. ( i swear that dog eats everything).
elena_398 Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Well, the dogs loved their gifts. Of course the little one is chewing on the larger dogs treat and vice versa with the larger dog. LOL. Can't win, but at least they are enjoying them. Its sorta funny seeing the Rat Terrier chew on the large nylabone (bigger than she is) and the Yellow lab chewing on the small nylabone.
DramaQueenLucy Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 My girls had their bones while my boys opened presents. They were all so cute
CrayZMama80 Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 We have a zoo in our house. Every year tho at this time all the dogs get extra chewies, cookies (dog treats). The cats get cat toys, catnip. Our macaw gets huge bags of assorted nuts that he eats. (not all at once of course) Then the dogs and cats.. all watch us eat.. cuz they know that some ham, turkey, whatever we are having that holiday makes it's way to them. This is the only time of year they get stuff like that. Of course we have to deal with begging year round. But I feel they are family too. So we share. I love my animals!
inluvstill Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 My DD used her own money to buy her kitty "Cloud" a special toy and put it in his stocking. He got to open his up before she opened hers. I thought that was very cute!! LOL
