amyers12345 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 They always PM, but I'm seeing in other threads where some WM have signs up that say no pricematching. Is this true or a rumor? Because if it is true, there are gonna be some problems. My schedule was already made, and I'll be knocking WM off the list.
elena_398 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I guess you'll have to call your local Walmart. I know I did. Mine is price matching
laffnatu Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I would call to make sure. I think that I will call mine while I'm thinking about it.
theboyzmom Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 call your local store for sure....our Walmart just put signs up today that says they are going to be closed midnight to 5am Friday they are also NOT giving ANY info out...like, are they opening one door or both...no idea I was told before that they would PM, but now I just don't know and nobody is talking
KBsDarling Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Could the folks that are having signs up for NO PM at WM say where they are...maybe its a certain region?? The WM i usually go to always closed so if the new one is closed I will not be upset. I'm used to freezing LOL
elena_398 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I just hope I get a final answer. It could change my plans for shopping on BF. I may not run to Walmart if no price matching. Depends
jdrd90 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Okay, I just called my local walmart (S. Illinois) and spoke with THE MANAGER , he said they will be PM like they always do, as long as it is the same exact item ( duh) He also said there will be no surprises. People should get something in the mail telling them what exactly will be on sale. No surprises because they do not want someone getting hurt. There will be maps/or someone to show where everything is. I think free doughnuts and coffee too lol He said people just need to be patient for a few more days lol:cheesy:
dmmiller Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 He said people just need to be patient for a few more days lol:cheesy: yeah.. thats easier said than done! hahahaha
Illinoismom Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Just called my wally world and they are not closing Thanksgiving and reopening and yes they are pricematching, Let the games begin
dawn.royer Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I just called my walmart (shorewood, IL) to find out if the pm on Friday. She asked when I purchased the item and I told her today.(NOT) anyway she told me no because the black sale items are not on the floor?? I haven't been to Walmart yet but I might go look around to see if anything is out.
tntfuller Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I concur with the statements that WM will price match EXACT items. They get away with saying "no" because they often have things packaged differently for BF. So it may have a different UPC code or something. Like Target having an exclusive on the red iDog, for example. It would be impossible for another store to price match that as an EXACT item. (Or at least that argument could be made)
elena_398 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Called my Walmart (Massillon, OHio) and they are price matching. Just said you have to have the physical ad and exact item.
peggbt Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Also, if check out clerk tells you "no" because it's not the exact item. Tell the clerk you have to think about and get in another line. Sure, you may have to wait another 45 minutes but the odds are you'll get an employee who really doesn't care so much.
sylph211 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Mine has signs up no price matching. This is sure to burn alot of people who ran to layaway with thier Black Friday items. Always trying to beat the system and then system is always winning.
amdskip Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I really find it hard to believe that there are signs up saying no price matching. Price matching is like a golden rule at walmart and that as long as the item is the exact same (items currently on the shelf are not going to be the same) they will match them.
pmward725 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 My Walmart's manager told me they are price matching, any store, up to a 50 mile radius. All our "big" stores (BB, Kohl's, etc.) are less than 20 miles away. I still get their prices!
AndreaInNC Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Has anyone who's store said they were not PMing called 1-800-Walmart yet to find out the corporate policy?
mommy2justin Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 The Wal-mart in Williamsburg, VA will be PM and they are not going to be closing during the night. HTH someone! Janet
Deal Grabber Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Mine on Long Island said they will be...Hope they will.
leefamily23 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 If I have a lot to PM I usually try to find that teen/young boy's line (I have one myself so I'm not type casting) they just seem to care a little less about it. The older women seem to be the one's to give me the most heck about it. Also, in my past exp. (thankfully) the cashiers at our Walmart seem so swamped on BF first thing in the morning, they tend to be alittle more careless about it. Now, we aren't PM computers and TV's though. Usually DVD's and some toy's, so maybe that makes a difference.
mu96tiger Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Our Wal-Mart in Jefferson City, Missouri was actually encouraging price matching last year. While they were handing out the additional flyers at the door, they were mentioning to everyone that they would pricematch their competitors adds.
kbwdln Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 On phone with Plaistow, NH Walmart, also getting run around about price matching. They wanted me to leave my name and phone number and management would get back to me when they have made a decision. Also, they were asking which items specifically I was calling about. HMMMMM - I explained it may change my shopping whereabouts. Still no definite answer. Cant say I am overly impressed with that evasive answer.
crystalhicks Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 The Sherman Texas Wal-Mart store said YES~They will be price matching....and to have the ad with you!!! YEAH!!!
inluvstill Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I really find it hard to believe that there are signs up saying no price matching. Price matching is like a golden rule at walmart and that as long as the item is the exact same (items currently on the shelf are not going to be the same) they will match them.I know. Our walmart is usually so good about pricematching, so much so that when we get out food the cashier will say, this can of peas is $x.xx at food city and this bag of chips is $x.xx at kroger. I am just amazed that they have a sign up with no price matching during those 3 days. When I go in tonight I will look at the fine print to see if it is just certain items or anything during that 3 day period. They also are closing Thanksgiving and not opening back up until 5 a.m. Not that I blame them but it is nice to get in early and grab the extra non-blitz items while waiting for them to "unveil" the pallets!! LOL!
tlm2121 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I just hope I get a final answer. It could change my plans for shopping on BF. I may not run to Walmart if no price matching. Dependscall your local walmart and check - last year my walmart wouldn't match target's prices b/c the nearest one is 40 miles away, but i called last night and the courtesy desk girl checked with a manager and they said they would price match target and the new BB from the next town - i think they are afraid of losing shoppers to there, so call and check with your store , they can give you a definite answer

laufberg4 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I Called The Madison, Wisconsin Store And They Said They Are Pm. The Manager Also Told Me That Walmarts Coporate Policy Is To Price Match So All Stores Should Be Pm Ads.
krissyroddy Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 i read somewhere that walmart does price adjusting. for example, if i buy a product today and find out it goes on sale friday, i can go friday during sale hours and get the difference back. does anyone know about this or where i can find the policy? my walmart is giving me the run around. one minute its yes its been done before, the next its im sorry its up to our manager.
