  1. My first BF experience was in 1997. I was pregnant, had pneumonia, and it was 20 degrees out. My friend called me on Thanksgiving Day and asked if I needed any baby onesies b/c they were on sale at a now defunct store, Venture. Thus it began, and I haven't missed one since.
  2. I am SO glad to know that it's legit and that somebody actually won! Congrats!

    Lines outside TRU?

I REALLY need the Legos to all be half again this year.
  4. A few notes: I've done the retail thing for decades, though not anymore TG! However, I can tell you, having worked for Sears & Disney, that corporate DOES monitor the posts about their stuff. They take notes to see if it's the same people complaining over and over or if a certain topic draws different users that don't usually post. They keep notes on the names of employees that are used to make sure the company line is being kept. And, yes, at Sears we did get to see the BF ad in August and the Disney Xmas catalog (when it existed) in July or August. And the level of WM suckiness varies from store to store and manager to manager.
  5. The Target doll is the closest, and I've seen the accessories on sale for 24.99, which tells me that the dolls will probably be on sale at somepoint during The Season. Just so you know, 4 yr old girls generally don't play with dolls all that much. They do play with them, though. They'll play for a week or two, and then won't touch them for months. They don't really start until 6-8 yrs. Until then, spend as little as possible. It's just not worth it!
  6. Check with Best Buy, too. When my MIL's unit shipped out, BB gave them all a 10% discount to stock up on their electronic stuff.
  7. Having worked for the Disney catalog (when it still existed) I can tell you that they would pull people off their usual jobs to moniter sites just like this one to find out what was being posted, what people were saying, etc. We would take the names that kept recurring to see if there was a trend or if it was the same people griping about the same stuff. To their credit, they would respond to trends. Big Brother Is Watching!
  8. Try a party theme store like Party City. I'm pretty sure they had some when I was looking for another obsolete character for my own DS party.
  9. Linens N Things had some bean bag chairs that DS was playing around with. Seems like they were $25 or $30.
  10. $8 shipping is a small price to pay for a cheap mp3 for the kids.
  11. The law on sales is something is only allowed to be on sale like 70 or 80% of the time to be legally called a "sale". That's why Kohls will have middle of the week specials or big extended hour days so they can slip in as many sales as they can legally.
  12. Taste of Home is my favorite by far. You can get a slightly better deal by calling them at the 800 number, which you can get from tasteofhome.com.
  13. A friend and I just researched the whole thing. The buy.com is the best deal around.
