BFJedi Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I am bringing trusty Jon-E hand warmer that I bought many years ago. Just fill it with fuel (it's basically lighter fluid), light the wick, put on the cap and it will radiate heat for hours and hours and hours. http://www.safetycentral.com/jonhanwarac.html Don't go out on Black Friday without one! :) It's hotter than the pouches you all are referring to. I love it. Now that you have me thinking about it, it would definitely rule to have two of these. Last year with wind chill it was 10F here.
CrayZMama80 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 For those of you that has a Meijers nearby. They have a 10 pk of handwarmers on sale for 2 days starting tomorrow morning at 6 am. Cost is 3.99 per 10 pk. Just thought I would share this with ya's since a lot of people were talking about having them to stand outside.
motoXmom Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 There are a lot of posts about these, with a lot of information! Here's just one of themhttp://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=48565&highlight=Warm+waitingHope it helps! Try the search I found quite a few threads on this topic!Or post in Deals forum. lovebears65 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 I was in the store the other day and saw handwarmers. I am thinking of getting some for black fri. Can you put them in your shoes too to keep your feet warm
bigjimslade Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 I was in the store the other day and saw handwarmers. I am thinking of getting some for black fri. Can you put them in your shoes too to keep your feet warm Yes you can. I put them in my socks, boots and gloves last year.
jellybean051901 Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 I would recommend activating them prior to standing in line though. We waited a while and they didn't get really warm until we were ready to go in the store. For your feet, look into electric socks
yogiyb Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Ok dumb question alert (I'm not a hunter and don't know any)...How long do these things last? How many for a 6 - 8 hour wait?
MICKEY3601 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 It things like this that make me glad I am in Phoenix AZ where it is going to be a cool 76-79 on BF. Not that I am bragging or anything. I was seriously wondering exactly what they where & I just kept picturing gloves. How do they go on your hands?? From the pic above they look like a piece of square paper??
RossMAN Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Ok dumb question alert (I'm not a hunter and don't know any)...How long do these things last? How many for a 6 - 8 hour wait? That isn't a dumb question at all, I had no idea either! According to this site it's around 8 - 12 hours which should be perfect!
xslicricx Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 I think I'm just gonna stick with my tent with my oil based heater. There is a plug almost right by the door at our CC. This is gonna be great. Too bad my wife won't let me take the laptop, I even found an open signal there. Oh well maybe I can charge to come in the tent and warm up.
lovebears65 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I bought these for black fri and I am so glad I did.. Boy they helped in the foot department. It was freezing. I gave some to the people next to us at first when we offered they said no but by 2 am they were asking for them LOL they really like those things once they were activated. I will not go on another black fri without those things
motoXmom Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I gave some of mine to the people behind me. I had the toe ones so I put one in each shoe and one in each back pocket! lol It helped keep my butt warm I still used the Therma Care heat wrap that really kept more of my upper body warm. One thing is I had a REALLY hard time trying to get them out of my shoes later in the day. Anyone else?? I didn't think those were that sticky, but they were! One ripped apart and the charcoal went all over.
