I live where it's warm in the winter and it's depressing....I miss my snow, at least I get t go home for the holidays. I am gonna kiss the snow as soon as I see it LOL

ACK!!! Why is it that the people who don't have to deal with snow and cold love and miss it!?!?!?! You are all nuts!!! I would give anything to never see another snowflake in my entire life!

Hehe, I have no choice I HAVE to live here. This is our duty station :banghead: Home is WA and UT and snow snow snow. I like dealing with it, shoveling walks, bringing in fire wood...I'll trade, my sun for your snow! :g_dance: I am visiting both halves of the family for two weeks and intend to shovel the walk every chance I get.

What I found works really well is what I did last year when I stood out for five hours waiting to get WM laptop and it was about 0 degrees out.

Go to walmart a few days ahead of time, and pick up 2 of the mylar emergency blankets from the camping section. Put on jeans or whatever, then wrap one of the blankets around your legs, then put on some sweats. Wrap the other one around you like a shawl, holding the ends down at your hands, then slip into your jacket. I swear, people around me were getting frostbite, and I was sweating!

I have a friend who used them for skiing. She said they work great!

Those are incredible!!!! I will definitely look for those.

You guys will think I am nuts because I get so cold and I am in Arizona lol. There have been some years that it is pleasant out but I have had a few years where I am just shaking I am so cold.

Do you find that once you get in the store and start peeling off the layers of clothes that they take up half your cart? I can't leave it all on when we are inside, I get so hot I feel like I'm going to die!

I always shed my layers about fifteen minutes before the store opens and pu them in the car. That way I don't have all that extra stuff in my cart

This is my 4th year being insane and waiting in the cold.

I just have two of everything on...usually almost enough

3 years ago...33 degrees

2 years ago...24 degrees

1 year ago...16 degrees with a snow flurry here in Portland, Maine

I arrived at 3:30am, 12:30am amd 8:45pm respectively

Wayyyy too long of a wait!
