kc82769 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I was wondering if anyone besides me starts shopping in July or only waits for the Black Friday deals???
love2beurwifey Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I started my Christmas shopping the day after Christmas
shopping mom Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I usually do and I have some but not as much as I usally do this year.
tiggstt Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Almost done! Still want to check out the BF sales and see if there's anything I want that's a really good deal.
ccarson1972 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I will pick up clearanced/sale items throughout the year and save them for Christmas, birthdays, etc., but all the new things that come out around Christmas and all the great deals for BF and up until Christmas makes it so I still buy stuff.
Christy Garner Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I have only bought a stocking stuffer for my son and 4 playstation 2 games. I ususally wait until black friday to do the bulk of my shopping.
RossMAN Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I started my Christmas shopping the day after ChristmasSame here and remember our main site and forums are open year round, not just BF. $399 laptops, $39 MP3 Players, cheap digicams and more.
happysunshine28 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I started before christmas last year, I got several abercrombie tees cheap and already had enough for dd so I saved them for birthday and christmas this year.
lecomptek Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I start right after Christmas each year!
duckbrain Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I started my Christmas shopping the day after ChristmasI have the same process...I try to finish it up on BF
misshayley Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I start the day after Christmas for the next Christmas, and birthdays, etc.
Turtle Mommy Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I started early this year too. I have 2 of my neices done and plan on having all the people I have to ship their gifts done by Nov. 1st!! So I can concentrate on my boys and family here after that.
Stowasser Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Whenever I find a deal, I picked it up, could be for Christmas, Birthdays etc. Alittle harder with kids and their toy choices but generally already have MP3 players for the kids (a big want) and little stuff. I also got stuff on clearance at Target during the summer and as I see something that I think someone will like, I pick it up. I don't wait for BF since you don't know if it will be on sale or what will be on sale. Just got some Grandparents gifts with the free photo calendars from Snausages, they are great. Always looking for the unique and low cost or free items.
f1rstclass Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Started mine about 3 weeks ago, just got back with some Christmas items as a matter of fact!! :)
Gloey Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I've started shopping too; however I'm not finding any good sales. . TRU is having the buy 2 get one free on certain items and I was going to go there, but there is only one thing I want that falls within that catagory so I may just wait.
Bunniq Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I shop year round. I try to buy gifts that the person would love so if I see a good deal on an item I will get it, and hope I can keep from giving it to them early. I try to make BF my last shopping day for the current year. I like to have everything wrapped by the end of the Thanksgiving weekend.
Edgemonster Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Same here, I think it's just an ongoing thing. You can't pass up a good deal on an item that you know someone would really like. And it is very hard not to give the gifts early!
Firemansgal311 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I've started shopping too; however I'm not finding any good sales. . Thomas trains are in that sale( wish I had one close)
Firemansgal311 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I start stashing gifts in early January I guess. Whenever I find something on sale or clearanced I buy it and hide it in either the closet or the storage bldg. I only have to get gifts for my dh and a few more for my kids, everyone else is done.
elena_398 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I bought items to give this year at the Walmart after christmas clearances last year. Saves me a bunch. I also buy gift sets to give throughout the year at birthday parties etc. My daughter has been to 3 birthday parties and I haven't had to pay a cent on presents. Only a card for each.
smangham Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I started my Christmas shopping the day after Christmas ME, too! Shop all year...BF usually caps it off!
Dizzy Devil Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I will pick up clearanced/sale items throughout the year and save them for Christmas, birthdays, etc.,... I shop the clearance racks all year, so I'm usually done by the time BF rolls around. My husband and I go out for the entertainment value! :)
tiff_noah Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I usually start shopping about right now. I dont have alot of places to hide gifts so it makes it harder.
ssf Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I usually start around June/July so that by the time BF comes I will have about 50-75 percent of the shopping done. Also, I like to be able to shop at a leisurely pace..
Gazer9757 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Sounds sad, but I already have two people on my list done. I shop year round and keep my ears and eyes open. I try and have most done before December 1st so all I have to do is get stocking stuffers and extra stuff that might go on sale that I forgot. December is such a crazy time of year anyways, so if I can not shop and just wrap presents then I am happy. I do take my kids on personal shopping days where its just me and one child at a time for the day. They have their budget and list and shop, we get to giggle together and just enjoy the day. I arrange a friend to take them shopping for me and that gives me a chance to run last minute errands and them a chance to surprise me. Last year I scored a bottle of perfume, a couple of shirts, and a beautiful masterpiece that they constructed at their friends house. Gotta love kids!!!
Gator Pam Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I start when the Chr-stmas clearance goes 75% off at places like Target. And I use the Perimeter Perusing at Target thread over in the Offline Deals forum for deals at Target year round.
jadedmomof2 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I have a couple of things already, and was able to take advantage of the Circuit City video game sale, so there's a few more items. Target clearances are my main source of pre-season gifts.
NeepNeep Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I've accumulated a few things so far but wait for BF to get the really big deals on electronics.
starshine Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I started last year day after Christmas. I have all my nieces and nephews done and I've got alot bought for my son I just have to buy a few more things for him and my Husband and I'm done.
