  1. Us too - my hubby and I both work for county government, and the county traded Columbus Day for the day after Thanksgiving. Great idea!
  2. If the kids spend the night with grandparents, then the hubby and I like to go together. He waits in the lines to pay, and I rip through the store and fill the cart. So far, we have a pretty good track record for meeting up right at the cash register. but it sure does piss people off behind him! Oh well...
  3. The kids sleep over at grandma's house after Thanksgiving dinner, so I usually have time and opportunity to hide the presents, then nap. So far we haven't camped out for anything yet, so we've always stopped for breakfast at about 4 AM at Denny's then made it to Wal-Mart in plenty of time for what we wanted...
  4. The hubby and I have 2 dinners - the first at my MIL's house early in the day with all the traditional stuff plus lots of Mexican food - enchiladas, tamales, beans & rice, and sometimes chile rellenos. Then it's off to my mom's for a very untraditional meal (one year we had Lasagna). We take leftovers from both, and then we don't have to cook for a few days!
  5. HA! I agree... And call me lazy, but "Santa" doesn't wrap presents at our house. Everything else is wrapped in whatever I bought last year...:)
  6. I buy cards the day after Christmas and send out about 65-70 cards with a family picture. I'm not big on the "newsletter" thing, but to each his own...
  7. I agree - we went to Disneyland 3 years ago in November, and the kids LOVED the snow on main street. We went on Veteran's Day weekend, and it was PACKED - later we found out that this was the "opening weekend" for the Christmas decorations. Had a great time!
  8. I shop the clearance racks all year, so I'm usually done by the time BF rolls around. My husband and I go out for the entertainment value! :)
  9. I joined last year, but I'm glad to be back! :) I like to shop on BF for the entertainment value - last year at Wal-Mart 2 ladies were screaming at each other about a DVD player. Hilarious!
