I'm ready to reclaim the fun of doing in person Black Friday shopping!  We'll be looking for a laptop for our teen.  And then it's time to pick up some new winter clothes for us all.

Keeping an eye out for good computer deals!

What are the requirements (applications or specs) for the laptop and how much do you want to spend?

I moved to an area that is an hour from a wal-mart LOL so there is no going out for me to the big places, but will likely hit main street to support the local businesses 🙂

I’m considering lining up for the giveaway at Kohl’s. So far, I haven’t seen anything I want to line up for at any store, but the giveaway sounds like fun.

I'm going out. Don't have anything on my list that requires me to go out but I love going out. Last year was the earliest I had been home on BF in years, but it was fun.

We will go out. It's a tradition, and it's fun, and I need it SOOOO bad this year.  I will probably not have anything left on my list, but I bet I buy something while I'm out anyway. LOL

LOL.  Maybe if it is tropical...or snowing...or I win a t-shirt -- I'm kind of committed to posting selfies here, right?  I am not impressed with the ads.  I am a patient shopper.  I have been accumulating gifts since January and have really gotten some amazing deals over the last few months.  That said, I do like being out BF.  Last couple years I have slept in and headed out after breakfast.  Between the online stuff and the post-BF deals, I've done fine.

99c Bloody Marys would get me out earlier -- especially if accompanied by a breakfast buffet, but my days of standing online for hours for a doorbuster are probably behind me.

I am going out this year as well. It will be some shopping and family fun!

We will most likely go out. We are in a new place this year and my wife’s mom will be here so I’m sure they will want to go out if for nothing more than tradition.

Nice. Thanks! Somehow I missed that.

I will go out because it is the one day a year when I enjoy the busy shopping scene, but I will have already bought some key items online.

So glad that the Thanksgiving day in-person shopping came to an end.

I think waiting for hours in lines is over for everyone. (Even the opening giveaways at JC Penney and Kohls don't require much waiting.)

You really think the waiting for those is over? I'm thinking to be that close to the front, it's at least 2-3 hours. Interested to hear how it goes for people.

I haven't done any in person black friday shopping for the last three years. Were there lots of crowds last year? Are you all expecting crowds this year? I think it might take something spectacular for me to get back out there again.

I have been at JCP openings a few times in recent years to get their coupons and never needed to be there more than 15 minutes before opening.  At least once or twice some years ago I went in one door, got the coupon, went out and entered via another door and got another coupon.   It has been a while, but I got a snow globe or two without even trying (just being there when they opened).   All waiting lines are a  small fraction of what they were 7-10 years ago.

I've only been to Menards in the recent years and that wasn't anywhere near what it was 7 years ago, but there were hundreds of people in line 30 minutes before store opening.  I'll be interested to see what this year brings if I go out again.

Last year was the first year I didn’t go out on BF in over 2 decades. It was the first time I was in a major city for Thanksgiving (I was visiting family in Boston) where I found the idea of BF shopping crowds a bit more intimidating and it was the first holiday with my nieces who I love but are exhausting bundles of energy so I just decided not to go since most of my shopping was done already anyway. I sincerely regretted not going out as I missed the traditional terribly. I don’t care if I don’t even have anything to shop for I’m going out no matter what. I just missed the excitement and time with my dad (my normal BF shopping partner in crime).

I'll go out on Black Friday even if I have nothing in mind to shop for. I'm not sure if shopping online saves money or costs money. If you are looking for just one big deal and check out quickly there isn't as much impulse buying. But if you are just checking out all the many sales and find one or two things you want it adds up...and it's easier to use a credit card than cash-if that's how you pay -and it's easy to spend more.

As much as I was looking forward to less stressful BF shopping this year before BFF decided we're off to Universal madness instead, I'm thankful for the mini experiences I've had since this weekend at the Universal Garage sale and then Big Lots 90%off Halloween sale.  💜🖤😭 I nearly cried happy tears finding the Oogie Boogie path markers I wanted. We don't have anything really outdoors for Halloween and the last few years stores seem to be ordering less and clearing out quicker w/o discounting

I will be heading out too.  I don't know what I will be looking for yet.  I prefer to shop in person to get the items needed and wrapped that day. If I can't find them in person, then I order them online when I get home.  I hope to sit down this weekend and make a shopping plan.

The used curriculum store in the city is doing a 30% off store wide sale. If my husband is willing to drive I think we might go. It's across the intersection from Bass Pro's flagship store and it is absolutely INSANE through there. It's bad enough on a regular day but Thanksgiving week- New Year I won't drive over there unless I don't have a choice! Assuming my husband has the day off anyway, haven't heard for sure yet. I need to call and see if they have what I actually NEED curriculum wise in stock because I can get in trouble in there quick lol. If they don't I'll stay home.

I will be going to Dollar General either Thanksgiving or Black Friday at opening. I need to look at the ad scan again because I want that $10 robot vacuum and think it was a one day only sale price.

Otherwise, in store just really doesn't interest me anymore. I used to love the crowds but I'm pretty sure I'd panic in the pre2020 Walmart DVD crowd now.
