I will have to start my hoiday baking before long. I am always looking for good cookie recipes that freeze well. We visit two nursing homes and in December I take cookies. Last year my mom was here to help but this year I will be doing it on my own. The first nursing home has 60 people and I do little ziploc type bags. I usually put in 4 to 5 cookies and some candy. The secon nursing home has over 100 people. I especially need some good recipes for sugar free cookies.

wow that is so sweet(pun not intended). i bet they really appreaciate it. do you go to each patient and deliver them?... ok brings back the memory of goign and singing at a place like that with cupcakes. i never did know the value of it. well after my recent "visit" to a nursing home i do see the value of things like that. im sure you and your cookies are more appreaciated then you could even imagine.!!! keep up the good work!!! i bet the ones that can remember talk about you for months!!

Have you tried baking with Splenda? I baked with it alot last year. No one could tell the difference.

The only problem with splenda is you should label that it is in it because some people are allergic to it. I know that I am and a friend was trying to be nice and made me some cookies and didn't tell me that it was in there and I had a terrible migraine from them. Just an FYI.

Here is an easy and yummy one.

Take a boxed cake mix, lemon, strawberry or chocolate.

Add two eggs and mix

Fold in one cup of cool whip

Drop by spoons on cookie sheet

Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes.

Let me know what you think!!

I bake a lot during the holidays also and have found most of my favorite recipes on allrecipes.com. Time to brag, my cookies and greek pastries are a big hit with every recipient. Your cookie program sounds like such a nice way to bring smiles to the faces of those that may otherwise not have anything or anyone to smile at. Hope you find the recipes you seek. One of my favorite on the website I noted is for Best Ever Sugar Cookies and they freeze very well. I make them for every holiday and decorate accordingly. Have fun. Kristyn

here is an old fashion one my mom used to make all the time, like a candy and cookie you could probablt even use splenda and no bake!

1 cup of margarine, butter whatever you want

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup milk

1/4 cup cocoa

bring to a rolling boil and boil for 2 minutes but i boil sometimes for 3 minutes.

take off of burner and add 1/4 cup peanut butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 cups quick cook oatmeal

stir until mixed

drop on wax paper

i usually make this and just spread in a pan or cookie sheet cause it will be gone as soon as you make it.

i have substituted chocolate powder like nesquik for the cocoa only use a little more

I also use AllRecipes. I have always found anything I am looking for on there, except for a pie my Grandmother used to make and I haven't been able to find anything like it anywhere.
