mcwalker Posted Sunday at 04:00 PM Posted Sunday at 04:00 PM I spent most of March, April, and May in Fort Worth where summer arrived a while ago. Now back home in New York where it is still a bit cool. Looking forward to summer.
tinkrbel Posted Sunday at 07:43 PM Posted Sunday at 07:43 PM Welcome June! Not so much..... hurricane and rainy season 1
Kanyon71 Posted Sunday at 09:10 PM Posted Sunday at 09:10 PM Crazy June is already here. Took my daughter out and gave her, her first driving lesson on Friday after work. Big empty parking lot at the local church. Made me feel old and proud. 3

lucyismycat Posted Monday at 03:12 PM Posted Monday at 03:12 PM Happy June! I don't know why, but it seemed like May just dragged on and on. School is out, and DS15 is off on a grand adventure with a friend to visit the Caribbean. I am not very patiently waiting to pick up my Switch 2 Wednesday night, and in the meantime I have finally finished landscaping around our driveway, and ripped out one other flower bed and replaced it with new stuff. DS13 is planning a campout/sleepover with hockey friends this weekend and summer is off to a great start! Let's see if I still feel that way in July when I have to water everything, everyday!
speeddiva Posted Monday at 04:02 PM Posted Monday at 04:02 PM Ahhh, June in Ohio. 41° on June 1st and 86° on June 3rd. 3 1

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. You won't feel the heat with the humidity so low out there. It'll get you faster than you think. Vegas has certainly changed a lot even since I first started going in '06 but still fun to be had when you know where to look/go.

bodotdot Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago What differences are there between Sam's Club and Costco? I'm a Sam's member but a Costco is opening near me soon. Is there a difference?

Is there a difference? Some things are cheaper at one some things are cheaper at the other. I got a Costco membership on one of those really cheap deals. Never bothered to renew it. Too stupidly busy for me.

Is there a difference? I joined Sams before Black Friday in 2020 just for the chance to buy a Legends Ultimate Arcade. Sam's was discounting the cabinet and had a special edition which included pinball controls. The deal was made available at midnight on 11/7, my order was confirmed at 12:07am, and they were out of stock by 12:10. The membership was a moneymaker, so there were gift cards and coupons. I used those online -- never set foot in a store. Too far away to be part of my shopping plans. I joined Costco in August of 2023. I was shopping for a new computer and had noticed a lot of great deals at Costco. I ended up building the computer from scratch after someone asked me to recycle a computer. The computer's Coolermaster RC-690 case inspired me to build from scratch. Also a moneymaker, so I visited the store to use a gift card and used a coupon to save on a 34" display for that new computer. Too far away to be part of my shopping plans. Completely unimpressed with the store. I did do BJs for a couple years. It was right down the street from where I work and they never charged me for membership. Just the same, there were only a few things I bought there (including gas). When they finally decided to charge me for membership, I did not renew. I still get $15 moneymaker offers, but they go right in the recycle bin. I would not discourage you from sampling a warehouse if the deal is a moneymaker. Make a comprehensive grocery list and compare costs between these warehouses and your local grocers. I think you will find Costco a winner if you have plenty of storage or are a fan of their Kirkland brand. Sams tends to be less expensive. BJs is less bulk but some savings requires planning -- coupon clipping and ad watching. Too much work. I would also search some of the deal sites for the name of the club you are considering to see if the top deals are things you would be interested in. I find these clubs do not offer savings sufficient to justify the membership fee and commute. Happy Shopping! 1
