jellybean051901 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 The last time I went in a KB Toys on BF it was a madhouse. The store was too small for all the people there. The checkout line was backed down the aisles so you couldn't get through to look
Aaron Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 KB Toy's had great deals when they were here but our only mall location closed a few years ago.
blakes_mommy Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I was running with the bulls last year getting into KB. The workers didn't help you at all but I was lucky enough to find what I needed. I plan to hit there again, especially for Barbies!
AndreaInNC Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I avoid this store regardless of the deals because of their lack of crowd control. The mall should only allow them to have XX amount of shoppers in the store at one time IMHO .. fire hazard waiting to happen
ccarson1972 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 KB Toy's had great deals when they were here but our only mall location closed a few years ago. Same here. Although I never went there for BF. I used to take the ad to TRU when they used to price match on BF. Last year our mall opened up KB Toys just for the Christmas holiday season, but I'm not sure if it was there for BF.

I wasn't even going to attempt to go there.
Edgemonster Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Sometimes they do only let so many people in at once. It depends on the manager. I worked for KB for 3 years and one year on BF we opened at 5:30 and the only workers that showed up were the manager, asst manager and me and that's when the manager only let 15 or 20 people in at a time. She guarded the gate and even though people had to wait to get in no one complained because it was quick and easy to get in and out.
shopping mom Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 KB was organized here last year, You entered in a line and it was set up to be one way. You went through the entire store isle by isle and ended at the register.
sky_scraper123 Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I agree, they did an awesome job last year, I wish they had larger stores in my area though. Mary
laffnatu Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Our KB store closed a few years ago. It sucked to be there on BF. There was always a line halfway down the mall and the stores are always so small.
bugsette Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 we don't have any around here they all closed... I liked them
Spotted1 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Does KB Toys have a sale all day long on BF.. or do they just do the Early Bird/Door Busters sale? The closest one is almost 2 hours away, so there's no way I'd be able to hit their door busters, but if they have a sale all day long, then I'd be more willing to check them out.

vonnyb Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I have never been to KB on BF. I may have to check it out.

dajulkrin Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Doesn't your Walmarts, Meijers, Targets match prices??? Ours do in Fort Wayne, that makes it really great, because you can have your game plan ready and go to one of the 24hr. stores and get the stuff from others ads and then wait for them to unwrap the door buster items. Your just have to carry your ads with you and you sure don't want to set them down in your cart cause they will be gone.
elena_398 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Im bummed as I used to go to KB Toys every BF. Last year after BF, they closed our mall location. So no KB Toys around me anymore
rogerss2 Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 They shut down most of the KB stores near me. But the ads are still in the paper. If you take the KB toy ad to Walmart or ToysRUs they will match price, and you don't have to stand in the small KB stores forever.

I'm not sure if our Walmart would price match a KB Toys ad or not .... The nearest KB Toys is almost 2 hours away. Last year I was under the impression that in order to price match, it had to be an ad from a store that was local to the store you're trying to price match at. If that's not the case, it could be worth the try. Actually, just about anything could be 'worth the try' in the name of a good deal
mar0044 Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 The KB Toys by us opens at 12 midnight,at least for the last two years. People started lining up around 10. It was really orginized, but it did take about an hour in line to checkout. Everything was mostly buy one get one. Hopefully they'll have that again...

Fort Wayne has a lot of Stores trying to get your business. I would call them now and see what there policy is before the ads start coming out.
AndreaInNC Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 The problem with KB Toys is that their doorbusters are usually stuff that the other stores don't carry. Back in the day when TRU price matched, that's what I always ran into ..

SuperMommy Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 FYI for all those sad that their location closed most of the stores closed b/c KB Toys has been in bankruptcy. They have been doing horrible. DH worked their until August of last year. They went through a period were they sgut down alot of stores, and were working alot of things to try to get out of bankruptcy.
lisa0477 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I went last year and got the buy one get one fisher price items. I hope they do it again this year. You just have to be careful on the prices because a lot of the toys cost more there.
kimmie1995x2 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I go to KB every year on BF. At the location I go to, it is one of the more organized stores and I enjoy going every year. I am in and out within 30 minutes!
amyers12345 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Our mall location closed last year and I miss their clearance. I went once on BF and you couldn't move. They handed you a trash bag at the door to drag your stuff around in, but you couldn't even squeeze through the aisles to find anything. Luckily, the line snaked through the whole store, so you could grab what you wanted whenever you and your trash bag reached it.
Kay1996 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Ours closed here to I went one BF and it was INSANE!!! It was my first bf and I thought this is nuts what am I doing out here at 4:30am!! But the rest of the day was great so started a tradition!!
comm402 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I got lucky one year on BF, I went to KB late in the afternoon and all of their DB's were still ringing up at the price they advertised from 5am - 7am !! The manager said they didn't have as many people as they anticipated and needed to get rid of stock. I'll never get that lucky again.
