I already started shopping. Does that count? ;)

Sent DH to our new Dollar General after Christmas (still had family to get together with) to get some wrapping paper.

He got 8(EIGHT) rolls. A lifetime supply for our small family. :D

QVC is gearing up for Christmas in July by clearing out last year's Christmas items. Now I'm excited about CIJ, and that really gets me excited for Black Friday!

I haven't been able to log in the last few days, and I wasn't thinking it was time for the BF sub-forums. I'm so excited and so ready for this, this year!

YES!!! ads please...though unfortunately not expecting much...really want to be made a liar this year.

Same here! With so many deals the weeks ahead of BF, it's just not quite the same as it once was. Still hoping to find some good deals though!

I've been feeling a little nostalgic over the past couple of weeks and so that has led me to perusing the old BF ads... oh how I miss some of the stores that are no more...the sales from KMart were some of my favorites, it was the only time of year they had decent prices and they still had a layaway... BF has definitely changed over the past several years, but I still enjoy the actually BF ads when they come out and possibly venturing out to a store or two... they closed my favorite store last month, the Christmas Tree Shop, I loved shopping there from October to December, but especially on BF...it had become a BF tradition for me and although the store wasn't that big, it was big enough to spend at least two hours walking through and making decisions on what (if any) Christmas paper plates I would purchase that year... buying half price wrapping paper, tape and all the cute kitchen towels, pot holders and oven mitts was always part of the game plan... this year, I'm not sure what to expect so I'll just be going with the flow...

Black Friday has changed a lot. Not as exciting on Black Friday itself with all the sales leading up to it.

I agree, it's just not as exciting anymore and the actual BF sales have been kind of lackluster over the past couple of years...

I miss the excitement of the hunt for a bargain, seems like stores aren't really trying with the deals anymore. We've also cut back a lot on gifts and don't generally need anything. I wouldn't mind a new gel mattress topper or some new vinyl but what I really want to keep an eye out for is a new travel backpack and maybe a carryon luggage. The old backpack is starting to really fall apart now, it's nothing fancy (Jeep brand think it came from Marshall's) but things don't seem to be made as sturdy anymore within a decent budget.
