rwking75
My family is pretty large and we have a pretty close group of neighbors and friends. About 20 people. However, I always budget about $50-$75 for my son to purchase Toys for Tots every year. I've been teaching my son about charity the past 5 years. We enjoy going into a store like Gamestop and hitting their sales racks to pickup cool pop culture toys and games for those less fortunate. It's not always the easiest to teach and only child that the seasons is about giving and not about receiving.

Suzy Crampton
Normally shop for 6 and hoping that this year looks better than last year did. Won't let Covid stop us from having a Merry Christmas though.
lucyismycat
Family - 9, including in-laws and 2 special cousins. I used to shop for employees and their families but with us all working from home, I don’t even see them anymore. I may do some gift cards or something, though. Friends - somewhere between 2 and 5, depending on when we see them, if at all. Hockey “family” - 29, but those are all kids that we will get something small for. Door signs, key chains, probably stuff I will make at tournaments. Last year I made them all hockey related pillowcases and face masks. Our church always does some kind of gift donation, so we will participate in that. all in all, definitely not as many gifts as pre-Covid. We just don’t see as many people these days. budgetsRsexy
We alternate which family we spend Christmas with each year. If it is my family then 5 adults and 1 dog (who you spend $5 or less on each, it’s a fun challenge and has made for some good laughs) and 1 child (I’m guessing we will be in the $50 range). If it is my husband’s family then we do children and pets, so 1 kid ($50), 3 cats and 4 dogs. This year we hope to make it down to see my husband’s family but we will have to see how things go with travel and covid. I’ve been buying stuff on great sales for everyone so the only person I still have to shop for is the child, and we will do that once we know if we can travel or not to know which kid we need to shop for. Fortunately all the adult and pet gifts can be kept until next year if we don’t see a particular side of the family this year.

jesusluvu
It is about 24 family members. With so many nieces and nephews my siblings have opted to just focus on the kids and not buy each other gifts as it can be so much. I have 11 nieces and nephews and 2 god children. 2 are in college now. Then I have my parents, in laws and that side of the family. I really enjoy Christmas so it is fun for me. I usually buy something for someone once a week that way it is not a big hit and use BF to get bulk stuff for my immediate family and others if there is a good deal. tracy0504
This year it will be 9 adults and 5 kids... I'm mainly concentrating on the 2 grands and 3 God children and doing less this year for my kids/friends. Hopefully I'll be spending less, as this is my goal, but the affects of COVID has caused prices on everything to increase... My holiday food budget will have to be higher this year for sure... Bopeep
I shop for about 20, plus GD Secret Santa and our family Dirty Santa. 8 of those are kids and grandkids, so of course there's multiple gifts for those (usually about 13-14 a piece, but this year the 2 oldest grands might get 1 big expensive gift. They are getting too big to throw a bunch of toys under the tree). The rest just get 1 .

HanShotFirst
Well I can officially say this year will probably be less people I’m shopping for since I usually give 3 of my work friends a small gift but since I have a new job (yay me) I don’t know that I will see them to give them a gift. Maybe I’ll buy gift cards in case we find the time to get together for a dinner after work. So my normal gift count will be 4…..mother, father, sister and GD secret Santa. SaBell
Shopping for 10 (11 if husbands work does a secret Santa this year). Only shopping for members of the household (Husband, myself and 8 kids aged 25 to 5yrs). We do 5 gifts each (something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read and something to watch) plus stockings (a fruit, a candy, a toy and a couple of personal care products). We stopped buying for extended family and friends years ago. It was just to much when there were 30 to 50 people and more than half of them kids. Before Covid we just gather and eat and play games and have fun. There were a few grumpies the first year but everyone had so much fun that they embraced the change. Last year we ate and played games on zoom and it turned out fun. Going to do the same thing this year. :holiday09 :holiday16 :holiday16

budgetsRsexy
We are adopting a family for Christmas this year so I’m expecting to shop for another 4 people (I’ll know the head count for sure when I get the details this week). I’ve never done this before so hopefully it goes well (ie it doesn’t stress the heck out of me) and becomes an annual tradition (if not then I’ll find a different way to spread the love next year). Looking forward to it, though the supply chain issues have me nervous now. Fingers crossed I can do a good job playing Santa!
