KhakiBoy Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 We've had some threads about how much we budgeted and how much we spent. I'm wondering how much did people save on BF? My overall savings were 70%! I figured this out by listing the regular price, the price I paid (on sale price or after instant rebates), and the final price (after mail-in rebates). My regular price total was about $930. I spent about $750. After rebates, my total will be about $275. The lowest discount was 50%. My highest discount was 100% (FAR). So I'd say my BF was well worth it!!
shanni Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I couldn't even begin to put a number on it, but it was HUGE!
hope1976 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I saved right around $400, but that's with the computers at Walmart. Still not too bad, though I don't know how much the Little Peoples sets (got 2), Cabbage Patch Newborns (got 1), Care Bears (got 1), Game Combo (got 1) would have been regularly so it could be more. My Walmart STILL has Care Bears left as of last night. Unreal.
Illinoismom Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Your suppose to save money Its the one time of year I dont worry about money and what I buy and spend, Love that day.
amandasdennis Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Well, I saved a bunch, but then again I bought a bunch...I feel like I saved about $500 when you look at what the things would cost on a normal day, but when you talk to my husband he still says that I dropped $1300 no matter how you look at it! So who do you agree with? Me or him?
ramona1992 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 $110 - which is pretty good for 2 items.
rgb Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I saved alot...not exactly sure how much...I guess around 250. And I got alot for the money I spent....can't wait til next year!!!
MeAGNL8agn Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 2 $400 BB emachines@$150 ea =300......................................saved $500. 1 $600 BB emahcines@$150 ea =150 (it was a uprage for error)..saved $450. 1 $100 BB MP3 Player @$40 ea= 40......................................saved $100. 1 $250?BB Kodak C360@129 ea= 129......................................saved $121. 1 BB 512 Scan disk for camera@19?? one $10 RB........................saved $30? 1 BB$14.99 D-Link Wireless Router; I think it was around $100, 2R.Saved $75? 1 BB Game Boy Bundle @$99 no idea of the savings Then to Walmart: 1 Cabbage Patch Newborn @10 never seen original price --actually never seen them anywhere else. But I'd guess over all I saved at least 50% if not more. And actually this list for my daughter and me. A nice couple gave us the 3rd emachine coupon, which we had to make a 2nd trip back to Best Buy to pick it up.....but I'm not complaining. It was a great black Friday experience!!
Guest all2tired Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Never figured out what I actually saved but I know it definitely would have cost me more if I hadn't gone out on BF
gemini1217 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I am thinking my total savings was around 30%. Not extraordinary, but my "hot hands" tend to shrink my savings!!! I get carried away on BF & start grabbing items that I haven't even planned on buying!
killershroom Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 About $100 Koda z760 usually about $250-$300 Dock goes for about $25-$50 Got both for $200
erh12275 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Somewhere between $250 and $300 which comes out to about 50%. Not too bad since I finished shopping at 6am...lol.
scrappynik Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Over $250 at Meijer (closer to $300 though). Not sure about Target...never figured it out! Old Navy--saved over $30 on my coat...it was on sale plus my discount
msomnipotent Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 If I only count BF, it was $987.32 saved. If I count the tv & stuff I bought the day before Thanksgiving, it comes out to $1677.32 saved, not spent!
mommie75 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 not sure what i saved but got three carts full for like 1000.00 with tax... carts were full top to bottom... yes there were some big items.. sewing machine, roaster, toy box, laugh and learn chair, talking tool bench, two dish sets but we ended up with like 50 items for the 1000.00 so i was happy and i am going to try a pm one item this week i found it cheaper this week and toys r us
elena_398 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Tons. Not sure how much though. My husband was happy with my purchases and the prices. So that means I did well :)
treasure60 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 We saved about $600 in all on BF this year. More money for in my pocket,,,,ching ching!!
jpeyton Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 (3) Compaq V2402US Laptop Computer | MSRP $699 each - Cost $189 each = Total Saved $1530 (2) iPod Nano 4GB Black | MSRP $249 each - Cost $179 each = Total Saved $140 Sony PSP | MSRP $249 - Cost $179 = Total Saved $70 Grand Total Saved $1740 Of course, remember that MSRP isn't necessarily what these items can be had for everyday; MSRP is simply the worst-case scenario price if you bought the item at a retail location. For example, some places have the PSP for $225 and you can even order a Nano for $230 through Apple's Education Store. And the Compaq V2000 laptops go on sale for $399-$599 every other week.
queenofshopping Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 i estimated more than $250, mostly on small things like cds, dvds, & some toys...the biggest chunk was on my dvdr, reg. $180, on sale for $150, $70 AR - more than a hundred bucks' savings right there...my other biggie was my dad's memory card, reg. $60, $15 AR
stacimarie Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 At regular price it was around 600, with the sales and whatever elses, I only spent between 250-300.
joann Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Around $500 at retail. I wound up spending way too much tho.
msomnipotent Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I'm going to smack my husband if he says, " We would have saved a lot more if we didn't buy anything, ha ha ha." just once more. It's not funny anymore!
billcsho Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 I am expecting ~$350 in rebate. I guess the total saving would be around $500. My final out of pocket cost is less than $300. So it is around 62.5% off.
