Seedillume Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I wonder if that is the actual speed of the lights are just a low FPS in the video. If it is indeed the speed of the actual display, then I think it would cause siezures amongst the neighbors. Other than that, I think it's neat.
JBKing Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 The an who did this has another light show on his house to, theis house is legend, as seen in link listed, there is also link to alternate light show he has done.http://www.snopes.com/photos/arts/xmaslights.aspThe Trans Siberian Orchestra one is pretty cool, but that Jingle Bells one (especially the song itself) is downright annoying! I agree, I'd like to see it, but I sure wouldn't want to live next to this guy.
sunkisses Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I received this in my email. Thought the same thing as the OP. This dude has way too much time on his hands. i also like the trans orchestra better than the jingle bells. Pretty cool if its real though
dukes4440 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 We have a neighbor that puts up lights almost as bad as this...and he was out on Friday buying more because last year someone stole part of them...call it a public service!
Jennifer0530 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 If anyone lives in Cincinnati, Ohio please go check this out. I'm even tempted to drive the 3 hours to see this show!
alimfp Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Ugh, it makes me want to puke, toooooo much goin' on. LOL!
sunprincess831 Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 These are sooo cool looking, wish I could do it! http://www.break.com/articles/houselights2.html?t=4390 http://www.break.com/articles/houselights.html Sorry if this is a repost, tried searching and no matches came up
Reisch Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Excellent! Now I have a goal for my yard to look like. I hope the neighbours like more lights!
StephanieD Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 This is house is going to be featured on Inside Edition tonight. I just saw a commercial for it and they will be at that house.
teebee Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 That was sooo cool to watch! Inside Edition just came on talking about it.
teebee Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 The one they showed on Inside Edition was different. I guess it was this year's edition. He even had the song "God bless the USA" this year! How cool!
Marcster Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 And for those adventurous souls who'd like to do this at their house:http://www.wonderlandchristmas.com/wizardsofwinter.php
JBKing Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 This house was featured tonight on our local news. It is real! They were talking about the thousands of people who have been to see it. One night there was a car accident and the police were complaining because they couldn't get to the accident due to the long line of cars circling around. The music is broadcast on an FM frequency, so you can listen in the car as you drive by, or well, park in front of the dude's house and watch!
copados1993 Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 I just read that they had to shut the house down because of the accident and to much traffic. What a shame. At least it can be enjoyed still on the computer!
Guest outrbanx Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Featured on The Today Show: http://video.msn.com/v/us/v.htm?f=00&g=ab5246e5-7858-4130-a16f-715edb504cc2,21fb55b7-8676-42ca-b1dc-01dc2420c458,7b9a431e-3076-437c-acfb-f4c1eaa43e9d,cf66ce22-cffc-46f0-b66d-6da212d3b406,cbbe24fc-d30e-4920-9ae0-92270581b056,c3d03936-63d4-45ef-b99a-95144344
tootsieroll23 Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 I still think this is totally awesome. I can't believe it only adds about 150.00 to his Dec. electric bill. Wonder how much it cost to do the whole set up?
MarkRaby Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 I heard on our local news last night that the guy had to pull the plug on this display because the amount of people coming to view his lights had created a public traffic hazzard. -Mark-
missyjane Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I saw this on the news this morning. This man put together a light show to music from the Transiberian Orchestra. Fantastic display. He admits to being a computer geek. LOL! He even has a FM transmitter hooked up to his computer so that you can tune in on your radio. Miller Beer heard about it and wants to use it in a commercial. After a fender bender in front of his home the police forced him to shut it down. He says he'll be back next year though! Click on the link and then click on the "Read" right above the "Recent Entries" line. A lot of time went it to this! Enjoy! http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000263069055/

fairydustcrissy Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Just to clarify, he wasnt FORCED. He CHOSE to, to be true to his word.
missyjane Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Now see, I was under the impression that the police would have charged him with something. I can't quite remember...maybe a public hazard or something like that.
ebony0421 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I know alot of people didn't like it, but I did. I don't know if I would like it if I were his neighbor and had to see and hear it everyday.
missyjane Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 "But this week, Carson Williams became a victim of his own success. After a fender bender in front of the lights, the cops told Carson that the display was becoming a public safety threat. So he pulled the plug until next year." The above was taken from the CBS website. Personally I think they should allow it. Couldn't they, I guess if the neighbors agreed, set up a time every evening to allow him to put on his display and just rope off the street so that you would have to walk to see it. That would avoid the fender benders. It would cause an inconvenience but there are only a few weeks until Christmas.

missyjane Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 The article I read said something different. Sorry.Hey that's ok absolutely no problem. Sometimes I think I'm losing my mind so I just wanted to make sure. It's he!! getting old.
daworths8 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 He was on the Today show last week (when it was still up n running) I dont see any difference from stopping to see the light show or someone stopping to read a yard sale, car for sale, or any other advertisements or slowing down to see anything....could be regular Christmas lights, sitting along the street. His neighbors were fine with it. If anybody had a fender bender I say its their (drivers) problem. He did say on the show any problems at all he would shut it down. Sad it was very cool:g_thumble
iastrmchsr Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 That guy is my new hero! Now I know what I would do if I won the lottery!
