venerdinero Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 anybody got a proxy server - I think they are using the net... I can get OH, but not outside... hmmm
MarkRaby Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 as for test marketing, it would be because central OH is a major test market for many products, particularly restaurants - not for the "he hate me" thing cant get indy or pitt ads to load... keep setting off that pager!! lolAnd you know what? Sometimes it's nice to be such a big test market. I liked being one of the very first people to be able to order salads from McDonald's or fruit from Wendy's. But then you have companies like Best Buy who take all the fun out of being a test market -Mark-
MarkRaby Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 do you have a cc there? and do then have doorbusters or not? There are 2 major Best Buy's here and 2 major Circuit City's. One of the CC and BB are very close to each other. I could definitely see a lot of people heading out to CC over BB this year. -Mark-
venerdinero Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 PITTSBURGH - mcknight rd pittsburgh pa doorbusters correction 7hr specials... cookie didn't reset this time... my error - sorry we have cc, used to still have db.. don't have the ad yet, haven't gone to site yet
MarkRaby Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 Looking at some other forums, it seems this is reaching to Parts of Iowa and Idaho as well. Maybe Best Buy just hates states that start with a vowel... -Mark-

MarkRaby Posted November 24, 2005 Author Posted November 24, 2005 <--- the other O, OregonEh, that's too insignificant a state for Best Buy to even worry about -Mark-
venerdinero Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Ah... they may have more ads than WM.... at least 3 ads so far... gc ad (oh) , 7hour ad (pitt) and the friday morning ad (indianapolis)

Well, it's @ 5:30am - time for Rusty's last call. bring the ol' #2 Miller Lite car around so we can have a rousing rendition of: TASTES GREAT!! LESS FILLING!! Happy Thanksgiving all. yeah, like I'm not going out for the paper in 20 minutes...
erh12275 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Sorry to hear it. At least it wasn't a suprise this year...even if it is disappointing.
ks8wku8g Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I just e-mailed WBNS-TV Consumer 10 investigations, in Columbus, and explained how Best Buy does not like central Ohio. Hopefully they will look into it and give them the appropriate press.
DLM Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I am so bummed - I had my whole day planned around getting that C360 from Best Buy price matched at Meijers. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Spent a couple days looking at retailers to see who had it so I wouldn't have to get it at Best Buy. Any suggestions???
motoXmom Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Mark I just got the BB ad and it has the doorbusters in it from 5am till Noon. This is in NE Ohio Lake County.
ks8wku8g Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 According to the ad, it's just the Best Buy stores in the Columbus and Dayton market, which includes Springfield and suburbs.
zzxc Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 The $15 gift card deal is good at in the following areas, per the fine print at the bottom: Iowa stores (excluding Sioux City); Idaho stores (excluding Biose); Rapid Cidy, SD; and Huntington, WV Also in the geographic areas: Omaha, NE; Spokane, WA; Poduch, KY; Dayton and Columbus, OH This is actually a better promotion for the Average Joe than doorbusters. Joe can get a "deal" (deal to him... but not if he went to pricewatch) on the item he really wants (digicam, high end laptop). He doesn't think they'll be cheaper any time until Christmas.. so he buys now. THEN, he has Best Buy gift cards - so he has to come back before Christmas and purchase other gifts here, even if they are cheaper elsewhere. It's a win-lose scenario. Also, keep in mind that Best Buy has announced that they would like to BAN customers who buy only sale items without added RAM, protection plans, and who cause them to lose money from their store. If you are reading this post, you are one of those customers. Best Buy would like to ban you from their store. If you boycott them on Black Friday, they've won. Win-Lose scenarios are best for greedy retailers on Black Friday who don't want to give the die-hards their (expensive) candy. (my $0.02)
TamiL Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Sorry for that awful luck in Ohio. Doorbusters are here in Fort Wayne Indiana.
motoXmom Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Sorry for that awful luck in Ohio. Doorbusters are here in Fort Wayne Indiana. I'm in Ohio and got the Doorbusters for Best Buy
missyjane Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Disappointed here too. Officially no doorbusters for Best Buy in Dayton, OH area. This sucks!
Guest general41391 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 How did you guys get all thes B.B. Bucks?
ilalynch Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I am in Northwest Ohio and we have doorbusters! I am price matching though at Walmart! There is nothing at BB that I want tTHAT bad!
sigrist_2000 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 How did you guys get all thes B.B. Bucks?McDonalds had a promotion in October (MOnopoly) which you could have gotten 1 or 3 dollar best buy bucks on large fries or premium chicken sandwiches
teresa92 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 No doorbusters here either!!!! The closest BB is 1.5 hours away and we were leaving tonight at 11pm for the eMachine :( I've got $200 in BB Bucks, so I have to get something!
UAL123 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I'm just confirming again there are no doorbusters here in Dayton. That's a bummer because Wal-Mart will most likely be more crowded this year with no Best Buy doorbusters!
mulchman22 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 It sounds like it's time for some areas to boycott BB and teach them another lesson!
DLM Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 When I go on their site and click directly on the camera (C360) it shows the sale price but says you have to get it in the store. Then I looked for store in my area from the link on the camera page and it shows the BBs in my area. So I wonder if I go to the store if I can get the doorbuster price????? I wish I could buy it online.
Manduh203 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Come to akron.. about 1.5 hrs away.. we have the door busters here
