MarkRaby Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 CompUSA had a "midnight madness" sale tonight, from 6 PM to midnight. I don't think anyone around here got an official ad for it. I just knew about it from seeing the ad online. They close at 5 PM to prepare for the sale, and it was kind of funny because I got there at 5:50 and there were very few people waiting outside. And from listening to their conversations, it seemed very few of them were actually there for the sale and were upset about the fact that the store had closed down for an hour. And when a manager came out to hand out tickets for the desktop/laptop computers, nobody wanted them. Needless to say, I was able to get everything I wanted (50-pack DVD+Rs for $7.99 and a can of compressed air for $4 - $4 MIR). -Mark-

Thanks!I loaded up on dvd-r and cd-r's. Come to find out, the 8x ones I'd picked up (I was buying for several people and had 8 spindles) weren't on the 7.98 sale. The cashier asked the manager to bring up some 4x ones for me.I said don't worry about it, I don't want 4x, that's ok just take them off. He told her to go ahead and let me have them for that price!!!!! I was a happy camper!

donny2001 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 The Comp Usa out in Brookfield Wisconsin was a trip as well. Since I had to work tonight, a guy from work ran out there when I told him about the sale. HE went to go buy me the memory they had for $29.99 . It took the associates about 20 minutes. They at first told him it was in the locked cabinet, and he looked and looked and looked. NOPE! Then they tried to tell him there was no such sale of that item (Till he showed them the printout I gave him). Then after searching around they found it in the stock room, where it wasn't even put out for sale! ~cookoo~ Is Comp USA usually like this anywhere else? I went to go buy the Targus cooling pad for my laptop on Sunday, and didnt even see the sale sticker for it. I wasn't sure if it was the right one or not till I got to the register. Im glad I didnt go after work, I would have been tired and pissed off. DON
cami_reardon Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Too funny! I'm gonna have to go out there sometime before they close and see what's available. I have to work BF (mandatory OT thanks to some stupid thief!) so I have to do all my weekend shopping between tonight and Sunday without the Blitz sales! UGH! Can you tell I'm a little bitter??
KhakiBoy Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 HAHAHAHA!! I was wondering if anyone was going to post how the sale was. I worked at Comp for a month last year (quit on BF) and we had about 10-15 people in line when we reopened at 6 for the midnight madness sale. I was amazed by how unorganized everything was there. I remember many times I was running around trying to find stuff that was on sale. To me it didn't seem like they ran things the best way to try to make money. Instead they resorted to shady and underhanded business tactics to try to make their goals.
mistereman1 Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 The CompUSA I shop at is in Tampa. 40 minute drive for me, but I don't mind. They always have lots of advertised stuff, very helpful staff, and clearly marked sale items. Tonight I walked in and a guy brought me a cart when he saw that my hands were full. He then asked to see my shopping list and took me around the store grabbing everything I was after. He also helped locate all of the BF items on my list, so I will know exactly where to go tonight at 12am. Too bad you all can't shop at this one. If you are in Tampa, go to the one on Hillsborough Rd.
rockets34life Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 compusa is a waste of time. can't deal w/ their MIRs.
