  1. Got all the way to confirm order, clicked it and nothing happened :-( Hope others had better luck!!
  2. Looks like they may have a 19" LCD Tv for $99 but the scan is cut off and you can't see all of it. Maybe Brad can help out on this one.
  3. I picked up the one from Walgreens last year to use in our department to view training dvd's for one or two people at a time. It has a great picture although we have never hooked up an antenna to try out the digital tuner. Kohl's has one this year for 69.99 but I think that's after rebate. I will be trying to score one too. I will be looking for one that is able to run on batteries, if there is such a thing. I haven't been able to find out too many details on that aspect though. I have seen one of these types of TV's advertised somewhere that says it cannot be used while in motion, like in a moving car. Can't remember where I saw that one, so be careful if that will be an issue for you. I have a portable 5" black and white which I used to use for emergencies since we have satellite TV and it goes out just when you need it most in severe weather and no electricity. Since the switch to digital TV it is now worthless. I am going to take it with me the next time I go to Mexico or the carribean and trade it for a souvenier or something since it will still work just fine those places.
  4. Is there even gonna be a Black Friday this year?? No amazing deals yet...maybe Walmart will do something worth getting up early. As it is so far, I may get to sleep in for the first time in 15 years.
  5. Thanks to the OP!! This free shipping offer is still working after you sign up and I just used it today!!
  6. 720p models are hovering around $900-1000 now and I was hoping for a crazy deal on an Optoma or something like that for $500-600. On the other hand, if someone had a 1080p for around $1000-1500 I'd have to beg the accountant (wife) for some financial leeway and buy that sucker before she had time to change her mind!! Last year it seemed like lots of deals were out there, new and refurbed, this year nothing. I have an inFocus SP4805 with Faroudja processing. It is only 480p, native 16:9, but with DVI input it looks really great. My seating distance is 17ft from 110" screen. Thinking I might go Bluray this year and that means at least 720p on the projector. If there are no deals on the projector, there's no reason to go bluray.
  7. I was hoping to upgrade to a 720p projector this year, or maybe even a 1080p, but I haven't seen anything yet. Did I miss something??
  8. If you buy the Polaroid, get it with a credit card that automatically doubles the warranty or, if you don't have a card like that, then purchase an extended warranty. Lot's of folks have had reliabilility issues with Polaroid TV's and they don't fix them in warranty, they replace them instead because there are no parts available. After the warranty is up, if it dies, you're SOL.
  9. I don't know, maybe it's because I am in Texas and folks here generally seem to be bit more respectful of others. Now don't get me wrong, not all Texans are like that and I'm not even from Texas originally, but I have lived in several places all across the USA and things are definitely different in this state. I have only lived here since 2006 and I am really glad I made the move to the DFW area. They have a saying here for non-native Texans and it goes like this; I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could:yup:!
  10. Did anyone else know this was a Sears policy? I didn't but here is the story of how I found out about this: Went to Sears this morning to get the norelco shaver for $29.99 because I also had a manufacturer's coupon to get $5 off also. Altogether this would have been a great deal because my older shaver is getting dull and the price on the new shaver is much less than a set of new blades. So, I got to the store @ 0730 and the place was deserted, there were probably less than 8 cars in the parking lot. Went inside and they had plenty of the shavers. got to the check out and they would not take my coupon. They said, "Sears only takes our own coupons, from our own ads". I said 'Thank you very little', left the shaver at the check out, grabbed my coupon and left. On the way home I stopped at the Walmart I had to drive by on my way to get to Sears . I showed them the Sears ad, they instantly price matched it and then accepted my coupon without any hassle or questions. The Walmart people were :) smiling :) the whole time and thanked me for allowing them to do me the favor!!! Two opposite extremes in customer service. I guess that explains why Sears is on the ropes and Walmart dominates retail in the USA:rwb:. I should have just gone to Walmart in the first place and you can be sure that is what I will do in the future!!

  12. RCA has been rated one of the worst for reliability by Consumer Reports. That being said, I have a RCA 32" tube TV we got on BF 2005 for less than $200 that has been trouble free. It has a good picture on Dish Network and component hookup for dvd. I guess that makes it close to an EDTV. We got a free extended warranty for it by purchasing on credit card, but never needed to use it.
  13. There is a Sony 7.1 AV receiver in the add scan. Can anyone figure out what the price is? Starts with a 1. I can't make out the web ID either to look it up on the CC website. I just noticed this receiver also did not make the sale list for the ad.
  14. $550 in Fort Worth and still a pretty good deal @ $599 too!
