momee2twins Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Not quite what I was hoping for, but I should be able to get the kids' gift exchange stuff taken care of for parties. May pick up the docking stations, but need to make sure they fit 5th gen. Only other thing I saw was b1g1 on the happy nappers and thats a maybe. at least i don't have to wait all night in the cold for what I want.
deelite Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I liked the buy one get one for $1 video games but that was all that interested me. Our TRU is a zoo during Black Friday so I dont think its worth it for me just for that. Looks like its still Best Buy for me.
momof3luvs1 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I am happy with all the ads so far..I feel like they all have a decent amount of deals and their standard things to expect. However, I feel that the tru was really bad. No hot toys are on there at all and the stuff that is on there is nothing I need. I do agree with previous post about the b1g1 for a dollar games is good so hopefully that is online. I have a handful of things I would pick up if I can get online but nothing I would stand out in those lines for. I hope the ad had other things that other people need though =)....Im just really glad I bought a lot of the toys already cause I found previous good deals!!!
faceofboe Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I don't think I'll be standing in line anywhere this year. Nothing in that ad is worth waiting in line. Looks like I'll go later on and pick up a few things if they're still available. Or I may end up doing most of my shopping on line this year.
<3my3babies Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I usually go to TRU first.....may not go at all this year. I didn't find much for my boys....and too much for my girl (who I am supposed to be done shopping for). I may make Walmart my first stop this year. I am a little sad.
sbwolfer Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 TRU is usually my first stop but I don't think I'll go until later on Friday this year, if at all. None of the stuff that my kids really want is in the ad. There are a few little things I may pick up. It's definitely not worth going there for an 8 pm Thursday opening. I want to enjoy Thanksgiving with my family, not spend most of the day in line.
Elmck Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 I have been hoping for a 24 inch cruiser bike and a few other toys, but nothing I wanted is in the ad. Oh well no TRU for me this year.
momof5kiddos Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 I can't believe they don't have any leapster software or the leappad 1 or 2 unless I missed it. I didn't see little pet shops, nice sets of play kitchen dishes. And they have the tangled doll but not the brave doll. Seems like those would have been give in items. No TRU for me.
fabnsab Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 I have figured TRU out through the years...their big toy book is the truly good deals(and daily deal emails). That's where you'll find the hot toys on sale...black Friday ad is where they mark down old stuff that they got great deals on. That's just my observation. If you want the stuff on commercials now, big toy book...if you want some good deals on toys the kids may not have asked for...BF
fluffkin79 Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 When does TRU die down? There are a few 'nice to haves' for me but nothing worth fighting for. When is a good time to go pick through the ruins?
momee2twins Posted November 11, 2012 Author Posted November 11, 2012 i've gone around 3 in the afternoon and they would have my "nice to haves" but the store would be pretty empty. I've also gone on wed nite around 8 (ish) and had the items ring up at BF prices.
