treasure60 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Greeting Cards that are personalized or store bought? We used to have the family pic. and have it personalized when my children all lived at home. Now I just buy the ones that are personalized with a special saying and each family members name.
alimfp Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Store bought, but I sign every card at least. I just don't have the time (or strength, I cannot write much without my wrist going numb) to write much more than, "Happy Holidays. Love, and our names". LOL.
dorkydiva Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 I used to get store bought and sign them all. Last year I did the photo cards at WM and will probably do that again.
kalle1212 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 I used to buy cards, leave a little note in some and put a wallet sized pic of the kids. This year I am taking my own pic of the kids, getting the picture cards from yahoo photos mailed to me sending them out and calling it a day.
bayhaysay Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 We do picture cards every year. I usually take the picture myself (I love a good snapshot) then take my memory card to Walmart, do the 1 hour thing and they're ready to mail.
timbermommy Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 I have pics made of my kids and put em in christmas cards..signed and ages on each card:heart:
Tracy72 Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 send all kinds of store bought cards....to many to buy the expensive kind....those with only 18 in them is only a drop in the bucket with me...lol..so I get the cheap 32 in a box.....and get atleast 2 if not 3 .....lol...I did get some disney ones this yr for ones with kids...lol.
honest_okie_chick Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 We buy cards, and send a flyer inside to the family with our pictures on it that tells all the "New" news over the year
Mommie2one Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Store bought cards, but I persally write a note in each one. Christmas cards take forever for me! But its worth it.
daworths8 Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I get store bought, but I always take a pic of my crew on Thanksgiving (when were all fixed up and looking decent) make how many copies I need and put them in the cards...thats about as pesonalized as I get right now.
kmbrly Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Usually personalized store bought (last year it was "Happy Holidays from St Louis" cards, with a winter scent pic of the St Louis Arch. Write a quick note inside, and sign my and my puppies names. (to family anyway, who would actually know who Lucy and Macy are) LOL
missyjane Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Store bought with each family members own signature.
Gporter34 Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 We send out store bought cards, usually bought after Christmas, and put a recent family picture in each one and everyone signs them.
thebusylife Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I started making my own cards a few years ago and like doing it better than buying cards. I stencil, color, sticker, stamp, you name it!LOL Every card is a one-of-a-kind! I do tuck in a pic of the family or kids each year. I also usually write a quick note in each and sign them with all our names. I do it over a few weeks, that way it doesn't seem like too much work.
aeraen Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Store bought... I've always hated the picture cards (personal opinion, I'm sure most people like receiving them). I usually buy my cards at the after-Christmas sale the year before, and start signing them around October or early November. Sometimes I include pictures of the kids or the family from one of our trips, but if I don't have any particularly good shots I just skip that part. School pics NEVER turn out for my kids, and we stopped buying them.
wf2afcop Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I am a scrapbooker so I make all my cards, most people get a picture of my kids during an event during the year, this year I took pictures with them and their pumpkins and each person gets a personal note inside the card. Cards take me FOREVER and a day to do, but they are done waiting for Saturday to be mailed out.
msomnipotent Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I used to buy store bought ones and personalize them by adding pictures and a short note inside. Not the brag letters people send out every year, but a quick how ya do kind of thing. I found out everyone, even my grandmother, was just throwing them away, so I stopped sending them. It's a waste of money to me now. I keep all of mine and string them up along my banisters to use a decorations. I guess I am the only one in my family that keeps them.
Kimp67 Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 store bought here, personal note in each. Last year started using red & green glitter-gel pens to put more of a Christmas touch in them!!
Kygal2003 Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I always buy store bought cards, but personalize each one that we send out with "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Love (our names)...Then I include a Christmas photo of the family.
CG480 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Store bought, but I sign every card at least. I just don't have the time (or strength, I cannot write much without my wrist going numb) to write much more than, "Happy Holidays. Love, and our names". LOL.I am the same way. When my kids were younger I use to write notes in each card make sure I said someting personal to everyone I sent a card to made sure there was pictures of all the kids. Now that they are grown. I just made sure there is a little note to each person.
redjacket97 Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Store-bought cards with a personal greeting and a picture. I usually stock up at Target when they're 75% off for the next year.
Kandy Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I will use personalized cards, and store bought cards and add in pictures of the kiddos
ebony0421 Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Our cards are store bought and I will include pictures of the kids in them with a little note.
