ilikefree Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I do! I love writing personal messages inside the cards and addressing them. I love getting them in the mail, but have to say I've been getting fewer and fewer each year. I know a lot of people complain about the cost of postage, but honestly, can you hand-deliver a card to other states or even cities for the cost of a stamp?
ClosedAcct Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 You both should join our holiday card exchange!!
abentley Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I bought cards this last weekend and will be actually filling them out and preparing to send in some of my " wait time" while i am waiting for kids to be finished from sport activities. I am so excited about them!
jstluvem Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I enjoy sending Christmas cards and I love seeing my mailbox full of pretty envelopes instead of plain white ones with bills.
jskarp Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I love Christmas cards and getting photos to see how families have grown!
Mandy4Matt Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I do, I usually include a family Christmas photo.
bluebear Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Every year I say I'm going to send out cards... I even buy them on clearance so I have some... But I never do. Maybe this will be the year. We have a family member that every year writes a letter about the whole year and includes it with the cards. That's always neat. I bet it would be neat for her to go back and read all those later when her kids are grown.
momof3luvs1 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I always do the photo cards....but I do miss sending the other old fashioned cards too...lol
momlori Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I try to send a holiday letter with family stuff for the year with our cards. Do get fewer each year though
AndreaInNC Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I normally do the GD card exchange. I used to do a family letter, but I get holiday-itis and always run out of time.
allshoppedout Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I still send them, I get fewer every year, kind of sad. I wonder if it is people having hard times, laziness, hectic lives, illness, or sadly loss of holiday spirit. Anytime I don't get one from someone I normally do, I wonder if the post office lost it, or it was one of the previously mentioned reasons. . . I choose them carefully, while paying attention to price of course. I love to find ones with characters/objects that are the same number of members in our family. Sometimes I choose religious ones and sometimes I send photo cards. I always write something in every card, sometimes a few paragraphs, sometimes just one or two lines. I am always very happy to have a Christmas card in the mailbox
Thumper501 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 We still send Christmas cards. Ours are hand made (hubby is an artist and I scrapbook). But yeah, every year there are fewer and fewer cards that show up in the mail.
HansieDZ Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I have about 25 I send out each year, but with the price of stamps.... I usually send them out to older relatives who live farther away and always include a family picture. I will hand deliver them to closer,in-town friends and relatives. I have a 1950 house with a rounded archway from the dining room to the living room. I always, ALWAYS tape the cards I receive up around my arch along with my lighted swag. It's my favorite scene in my holiday home! It brings me such joy
bribri25 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Our list gets shorter and shorter every year...
faceofboe Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I do! I usually send out around 50 and I'm lucky if I get 15 in return.

jewleyp Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I always get excited when I see the cards I bought last year on clearance! I always buy a couple different styles since I like different things at different years...lol. I send cards for all the holidays. My friends and family joke with me but love the cards and miss them if I happen to forget! Lol

stevierocks Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 i do.its certainly worth the few cents a card for postage to put a smile on someones face.. even if its only a second..plus i hang mine... so they make me smile even more.
