mamat2011 Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I just got my LTD order and all three of my sons' gf presents, my gd 1st present and my neices 1st present. also I've been using coupons and buying stocking stuffers all year long. Still a long list to go.
Ajshope Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 I'm done with all of the shopping except for the wife and I may just give her money since our 5 year anniversary is on Black Friday and I'm already giving her a ring for that, plus she wants the iPhone 5. Of course all of the shopping this year was pretty easy as 3 people are getting tablets, one is getting a Keurig , one a Kindle, and the other is getting a bunch of tools. All of my shopping this year and last was done on eBay and Amazon so that made it even easier.
shopping4my3son Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 My first Amazon box arrived today.
mrsjackrabbit Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 i just started today! was totally unplanned....but my walmart had something on clearance.....and in the cart it went!!!
willandmel Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I have all 4 of my sisters and both my brothers done as well as all 12 nieces and nephews. But the expensive ones all five daughters are left and parents and in laws. DH wants nothing but always costs me a fortune anyway.
tyreejames Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I just officially started my shopping! Just ordered DD2 the Doc McStuffins time for your check-up doll online @ the Disney Store. I've watched it come in and out of stock the past 2 weeks and finally just bit the bullet one gift down!!
Kanyon71 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 We picked up a few things while out of town for our nieces and nephews. Not a whole lot but it was a start.
draconos Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Just preordered a tablet for one of the teenagers and I want to wait until closer to BF to see if the itikes stuff goes on sale or something. After discussing it with the wife unless there is something major I doubt we will be out with the crowds this year. Might just stick to online and pre-bf sales.
jesusluvu Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Just got started this weekend. Found a few nice things for DD's, so the HUNT IS ON
Star9701 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Started last week. We have a big family. I have to buy a few things every week and then I hope for great sales on BF to finish it up.
Tarmax4 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I finished with my 9 year old daughter already. Got everything from Amazon & Walmart. She wanted a IPad. Too expensive for a 9year old so I got her a Samsung Galaxy Tab. Perfect for her. I hid all the other toys in storage. Got my Mom a casino (slot machine replica-one arm bandit) bank. Everyone else I will get for on black friday at the clothing outlet store. I'm already started to stack up on coupons and saving reward points with various stores so I can cash in on BF!!!
jesusluvu Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I went to my Kmart yesterday and they have an additional 50% off all clearence toys and games. So I racked up - OH HOW THE HUNT IS ON:woot2:
Cinnamonhuskies Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I will be starting as soon as I get Christmas lists back from my oldest son, his wife, and my 17 yr old son. Dh never supplies me with a list so i have to guess. Most of my shopping is done on Thanksgiving Day online and Black friday in line. TY GottaDeal!!!!! Next year there will be a new grandbaby to buy for, so the toy shopping will begin!
Ivetico Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I haven't started yet, but I usually start by mid-August! I'm so bummed I have yet to make a single purchase!
LynnTH Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I have started a bit too. Kids have all the gadgets already (Netbooks, I-touch, I-Pad, I-Phones, X-Box, Wii) So, no big items to get this year. I plan on getting them both a small photo album and filling each pocket with either a gift card or cash. Gift cards will be for stores, fast food, and stuff like skiing etc. Plus other things, but that will be there bigger gift this year. So far I have for 13 Year old son: Champps GC, Beats Headphones (got on groupon deal), Phiten Necklaces, Fun I-phone cases. For 11 Year old Daughter: Coach Purse (from outlet on clearance), Aeropostale G/C, Fun I-phone cases. Niece - Set of 5 Different Sterling Silver Necklaces from QVC. Still have lots to get as I like a tree full of gifts but it's a start.
rsb7706 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I haven't started shopping yet but I have started writing down ideas as I think of them
bpr Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I shop all year. Cinderella just came out on Blu-ray so that makes a great gift for my niece. I've got some stuff for her dad. I've picked up some other movies for my son already and some clothing. Almost done with the wifey. All this and I haven't even hit BF yet, lol.
jakesmommy403 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I always wait until after Halloween to start my shopping, but when that new Skylanders Giants hits shelves Oct 20th or 21st or whatever it is, I'll grab that for ds8. I also got a coupon in the mail today towards fisher price toys at kmart to be used before Oct 31 so I'll run up there and grab some stuff for ds3. Other than that my shopping won't kick in until November.
racerfan Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I started with some clothes from Hollister, Aeropostale and Abercrombie. THey had some awesome sales in the last 3 weeks (including a 40% off Abercrombie. Just went thru my deliveries and put them away/ Ordered DD14 furniture for her bedroom and have been looking at accessories for her. One video game ordered for DS16 (I have his Birthday on 12/21 and then Xmas for him to get)
My3Gyrlz Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I have started with a few items that were 75% off, but I still have lots to buy.
jakesmommy403 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I officially started shopping today! I picked up some Fisher Price Zoo Talkers animals, the zoo talker train, and some Thomas stuff for ds3, and some Lego Monster Fighters and Hero Factory stuff for ds8.
pogiporkchop Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I'm going to start making lists and try to start buying but with limited hiding space I don't know... maybe the kids will be practical in their wishing this year (yeah right).
Danascraps Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Yep, I've started, just a few things though. Mostly I've just started to put some lists together.
alexle2007 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 My DS5 only have 11 things on his wish list but only 8 of them are for him (he included a new car for dad, a new iPad for mom and matching PJs for the family on his list.) I've already have 3 items from the list. The hard one is the basketball court he requested. Not sure how he thinks Santa has time for construction? Maybe while we're visiting Grandmom for the week in AZ for the holiday?

Maybe while we're visiting Grandmom for the week in AZ for the holiday?Love how thoughtful he is! I guess our Santa was lazy. He left the basketball goal in the box under the tree. Besides it being cold, and him being rushed for time, all the presents need to be under the tree so they can be seen...
catholicbride11 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I wait for Black Friday, but do have a few toys picked up off the clearance aisle hidden in the closet for my kiddo. I love the holiday shopping season too much to shop year round, BF and all the sales get me in the spirit
my4bearcubs Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 I have a great start with all 4 of my kids. 3 of them are getting the new Ipods so obviously I have not bought those. Not sure what the big gift for my oldest will be. I start in the early summer. When my kids were younger I shopped year round - it was easier to pick up nice toys that were on clearance. It gets harder as they grow out of toys. I am happy with my progress this year. I even have a good start on my hubby.
casey49781 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 How many gifts do you get your kids or do you stick to a budget? When my kids were younger i bought 10 gifts. They are now 15 and 12 . So I have no idea what I will be doing this year. My 15yr old has a ipod, school computer. but she wants a ipad. My 12 yr old wants a kindle fire.
AuntieJul Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 I just started today for my DH. Since I'm now 28 weeks pregnant I figured I might as well get a head start in the very worst case scenario that I might be out of commission later in December...

My 12 yr old wants a kindle fire.I usually get my 3 kids 10 gifts to open, then Santa brings more. Until last year it was a good bit more, last year it was 1 gift plus accessories for that item. I think I will do that again this year. They are 13, 16, and 21. I bought some stocking stuffers last night, so I guess I've started. Really starting to get into the mindset now!
