SuperMommy
Wal-Mart has some for about $6 or $7. So you could go get one of those and if it gets left behind it wouldn't be that big of a loss.
dbuttry
Last year I just took a 5 gallon bucket and some cardboard for padding. Worked great! I left it outside when I went in and it was still there when I returned for it. There were a lot of people wanting to buy my bucket from me in line. ebony0421
If you and the person behind you have conversations, there shouldn't be a problem with you putting the chair in the car, just don't do it right before the store opens.

shellypsu1
I was asking myself the same question earlier... "to chair, or not to chair". I finally decided not to bring a chair. I am going to bring a small blanket to sit on and if it is cold out, I can wrap it around myself. Now I just have one more question; will I be able to throw the blanket in a shopping cart when picking up my new computer? lol
erh12275
I see no need in taking a chairWell if I were going to be standing in line for an hour or 2 and then going in and shopping and then going home I would have to agree w/ you. But if like most you are going to be standing in line for 5-10 hours and then be shopping that day for 4 or more hours I could completely understand the need for a chair. Luckily I am neither and I am going to SuperWalmart that is open 24 hours so I don't have to stand in line.

kdblev
My mom and I do this as a tradition now and have brought chairs the last 6 years or so since we get in line early. We pack up and put them in the car 30 mins or so before store, but we have held spots for ppl to put theirs up before too. And for people to take bathroom breaks and all that. Really not a big deal once the first 10 or so are there and have claimed their spot. Now if they leave and dont show back up in 5 minutes or so the spot is gone. Came late and people let her ahead beacuse of her handicap. I'm usually a very sympathetic person, but if I've been sitting outside in a chair for four hours, I fail to see why she could not have. The store manager even let her in first and several minutes before anyone else. Touchy subject I guess. I'm sure she did need the help inside the store, but rather unfair that she skipped the line altogether.
DaleRider
If you and the person behind you have conversations, there shouldn't be a problem with you putting the chair in the car, just don't do it right before the store opens. Exactly!!! After spending several hours in line, you get to "know" the other BF'ers in line with you, esp. if you are VERY early to line. While we got there at midnight, the line didn't start getting long until around 3AM, by 4AM, you could forget the doorbusters completely!!! And probably most of the hot-priced stuff!! We had no problem with leaving the line for short periods and returning to our place during the morning's progression of time....everyone had to bathroom break sometime and the closest was a mile away. An hour before the doors opened and they started passing out tickets, we pretty much collectively took all our chairs, Thermoses, books, etc., back to our cars and retook our rightful places in line. Not a problem in the least.

Not a problem in the least. My experience was the same at Best Buy. I was close to the front of the line. I actually went into BestBuy about 30 minutes before they opened up to use their restroom. It gave me a great start on knowing where certain items were.

I dont see it as a touchy story (personally) both my parents are disabled and if they decide to go on a BF they must be out of there mind. I would not except them to get special treatment. they know what they are getting themselves into and they need to wait in line just like everyone else, period! I think its total bunk to let people cut in front like that and I would be irrate about it.
BLKFRI
I have parked right in front of where I am in line at Best Buy and just put the chair and my TV in the car after they passed out the tickets. By then, peeps pretty much know who is where in line. You could also bring a camp chair. Fold it and put it in the shopping cart. I don't see retailers complaing about strollers, and thats how a lot of stealing is done.
