No, the signup has not started yet :P I'm just wondering - who will be heading up the exchange this year? I'm willing to step up if nobody else does, or to be co-host if someone would like to split the job.

(And yes, I think I'll find a way to participate in this, one of my favorite holiday traditions :D)

You sign up when it is time, get another members information, then send them a Secret Santa Gift. After all gifts have been received the names are revealed. That's the basics but it is always a fun event. :)

I've always heard about this, but I've never taken part in it. Is there a monetary limit? Do people request a specific gift or is it at the discretion of the Secret Santa? Is it open to everyone?

each person sends mod a list of likes/dislikes and then that list is forwarded to ss who takes those into account when picking and choosing stuff. I think there's a minimum but you'd have to check last years thread, might be $20. needs to be sent with trackable method too.

$5 minimum on ornament, $10 on SS BEFORE shipping and packaging and everything sent must have a DC# for tracking. You send your info (including likes/dislikes, interests and any other tidbits you care to share) to the host and then get the name of someone and their info. Go shopping, have fun, but do remember to mail your stuff on time because it stinks to not get a gift :) Elf volunteers are always welcome too, in case someone doesn't get their gift/ornament. In general, guaranteed fun all around.

I was thinking about the card exchange the other day, I just cant wait.

the past few years I have participated in both the summer and Santa exchanges.....my favorite part is the card exchange, nothing brings a smile to my face more than opening the mail box and having cards instead bills/junk mail.

The card exchange is my favorite. My kids love to see where all the cards are coming from. I didn't do the SS last year but I hope I remember in time this year. It is fun and takes your mind off the stress of the holidays.

usually i only do the gift exchange, but now that we are finally living in a house and i don't have to worry about folks snagging my mail... count me in for the card exchange too!
