Batmom
Is it possible to pick the items you want from the BF list, put them on layaway, then cancel the layaway and re-ring them up on BF to reserve them? Just thinking sneaky,Tammy
teresa92
Hmmm... never thought about that. I don't think I'd chance it at Walmart. Not sure what excuse they would give for not re-ringing it, but I'm sure they'd come up with one. I'd like to see the look on the layaway attendant's face though. Here you are on BF with a cart full of doorbusters that have been in layaway for a month
elena_398
I have never done lay-a-way, but my sister does it at walmart as she has 3 kids who get into everything. No place to hide anything. She puts everything in layaway and this helps her store the stuff.
simonalex
I guess layway is for thie things which are too big to carry or transporation problems like bikes, TVs etc. But I don't how you can put toys etc is layway?? Last time we did buy a TV from walmart on BF and put it on layway because it wil not come in our car and we had to get bigger vehicle to tae it home. so it was in layway for 3 days or so. elena_398
Tons of people do layaway if they cannot afford the toys all at once. I was behind a lady leaving the layaway department in december last year. She just got done getting all her stuff out (I was coming out the restrooms as they are next to layaway). She must have had two carts of toys.
teresa92
I've done layaways before too, but say you checked out the Walmart BF ad here & went ahead and put the stuff from the list in layaway at today's prices. If you went in on BF and cancelled it, do you think they'd let you ring it all up again at the doorbuster prices?
biomajor
you wouldn't even need to cancel it--they could price adjust the entire layaway as long as it was within the time frame
vonnyb
Last year the layaway line at Walmart was very long. It looked to me as though people were putting BF items ON lay away.

Just thinking sneaky,TammyYes, you could do that, but if you have ever seen the layaway line at WalMart on BF I think you would quickly change your mind. It could take you hours! Stowasser
I did that two years ago at Kmart. I went in several days before and had some PS2 games put in layaway and went in when they had their sale. I agree, it might be a mad house but maybe later in the day it wouldn't be that bad. Of course, wouldn't help for the pallet items that they bring in just for the sale. Not sure about other stores...
simonalex
Thanks True!! It takes hrs to get through layway in Walmart. It is actually very frustating!!. Last yr when Is aw the layway line in Walmart, I could not believe my eyes. And the CSR at layway was not very friendly. He was taking way too much time giving things to people, sipping coffee etc etc. Hated that. Simonalex

jasminesmommy
My walmart must be hip to this beacause they kept all the BF stuff in the back till 2 hrs before then kept it under tarps so you wouldn't know where anything was and let it be a free for all. The layaway line went pretty quick though. They had 4 people at the layaway counter and about 6 people with these hand held things.
Tink214
Is it possible to pick the items you want from the BF list, put them on layaway, then cancel the layaway and re-ring them up on BF to reserve them? Just thinking sneaky,Tammy I don't think this would really work for some items. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that often the BF items are in special packaging. They will come with bonus packs, different colors, electronics might have slightly different model numbers, etc. which mean different barcodes. mama2ella
Not sure...I don't think I have enough faith in Walmart not screwing things up and suddenly all my layaway things are gone I would rather just have the things in hand then to come up short a few days before Christmas
gijimenez
I was thinking about that. The good thing if it is permitted is that you don't have to be at that store so early which leaves you free to other stores.
elena_398
I wouldn't want to do layaway on BF though. I've seen the lines so forget it. People were waiting 2 hours just to put their stuff in. I don't do layaway, but I really wouldn't on BF
monster2369
I generally put toys and games on layaway early sept that my kids must have. I shop on bf for those things to add to their must have list. Those toys that are on layaway I can pay for from sept to dec usually up-to the 15th. I have never tried on bf, because the lines are usually way too long.
caseyslilangel
I want to go put that jeep in layaway and then do a price adjustment on BF and get it out to make SURE I get one. Think they will let me do that?LOL

treasure60
I put things on layaway starting the end of September each year,,,when I see something that I want to get for someone and if I don't have the extra money for it I put in on layaway. This way I can get it and not go back at another time to find it sold out. And you can have more than one layaway.
5holders
I was wondering the same thing. A while back my sister put the car dvd player on layway and when she went to get it out her balance was less than it was supposed to be. The price had dropped like $50 since she put it in layway and the computer adjusted it. As far as long layway lines I think if you put your things in layway ahead of time and then if you are there are 5 am and go straight to layway to pick them up there should not be a line yet. alimfp
I thought of the same thing a few days ago. I'd be afraid to chance it though and be dependent on it working.. just my luck I'd get the weirdo kid telling me his weirdo reason for not allowing me to do it. jadedmomof2
All you need to do is put the items on layaway(the items that are already available that is). Then, on Black Friday, run back to layaway, pull out your receipt, and ask for the sale prices. Then do a few things in the computer system, and your prices are updated(if they weren't automatically updated)
Gporter34
I would love to be able to do that but on BF our layaway line is wrapped around the building and close to the front of the store. At our WalMart, that is. I would be afraid that I would lose too much time and not be able to get the items that are not available ahead of time. lol
Gumball
I need to check my store and see if they have one of those DVD recorders in right now. I'd have that in lay-away so fast your head would spin. LOL
Gporter34
Our's didn't have that model yesterday. I checked on it just to be sure. I felt like I was on some covert mission. Running around the store looking at model numbers.lol
