mjmcca Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 and look at whats in high inventory now in anticipation of BF sales? I was in Target today and I noticed that there had to be 300 Vsmiles on the highest shelves in the toy department. There were also tons of doddle pros and aqua doddles. I am thinking they may be part of a BF promotion or possibly one before BF. Anyone else go to the storres and look to see whats in high supply and try and guess whats going to be on sale? or a hot seller?
mjmcca Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 You are welcome but it wasnt really a tip it was just something that dawned on me as i was walking through the store today.
starshine Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Yep I walk around every year and look on the top shelves and in the Garden center at Walmart That is usually where they stash the big BF stuff. Like bikes, ride on cars for the kids and things.
Guest Deals4Me Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 yep...The DVD players that were super cheap last year., they were on a palet the week before... I figured BF..... they sold a lot. But after BF they raised the price by 20 bucks... a couple weeks later...probably 4 or 5 days before christmas,I was gonna buy one... was looking for an undamaged box towards the bottom.... WOO HOO! Found one with the Black Friday sign on it...had the price on it! Got an additional $3 off too...
RossMAN Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Not really, I look at the 2003 and 2004 Black Friday lists and ask myself "I wonder ..."
vonnyb Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 This is a really good idea. I am going to start paying more attention when I go out. Especially as we get closer to BF. Thanks!
elena_398 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Walmart had about 50 Cabbage Patch Dolls all over the store. (top shelves today). Hmmmm
treasure60 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 I think the Cabbage Patch dolls are going to be a big item this year. I am hoping so since I plan on buying both my 2 and 4 yo granddaughter's one for Christmas this year. Their dad's had one in the 80's when they were hot...lol
rcrane3232 Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 I stalk the store like Walmart and Target the Wednesday night before BF, to see where each item will be. Here in RI we are having a tax free day on BF and the day after

Gumball Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I saw some VSmiles in Meijer today. I think they had them marked at $59 and change at the moment.
jadedmomof2 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Ooh, my DS needs a new MagnaDoodle(he goes thru one every 6 months). Anyone notice any Leapster stock ups?
elena_398 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I'll have to look a bit more closely when I go to walmart today. Out of dog food so I will swing by toy section and take a glance.
Gumball Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I was in Target today.. they had the overstock loaded with VSmiles in there. Didn't catch the price but the entire shelf up there was full of them.
jadedmomof2 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Not interested in the Vsmile, I trust LeapFrog products, as we've had great luck with the company in the past, and I don't want to jinx that. I'll keep an eye out myself, I have a dreaded trip to Walmart to make in the next few days anyway.
rldelo Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I never thought to look.....I would think they'd keep that inventory in the back, especially if it's something not in their usual inventory. I'm going to have to start paying attention--thanks for the idea.
f1rstclass Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I saw risers in WalMart loaded with Furby's while I was in there yesterday...HMMM....
Gporter34 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Our WalMart also has an enormous amount of Furbys...I just don't know if I want to get them. The last time I bought them for my oldest back about 10 years ago, the darn thing drove me crazy. lol

I just got him the pocket for his birthday and i have a hard time getting him to put it down. It is very educational. Teaches math letters numbers colors ect. I am very pleased with it.

I want to get her the Disney princess game for it but I think the age is supposed to start at 6! So I don't know if she can handle it. Gloey

Jenniferharrison82 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I did that in Walmart last year when I was in a week before BF picking up the kids christmas pictures..lol I totally do that too. It isn't a 24 hour walmart here, so I go in at like 9 pm. (they close at 10) and try to see where they have at least put some of the stuff that won't be on pallets. Two years ago when I did this I was able to get a bunch of the stuff early because it was already ringing up the bf price.
praveenml Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Sorry Guys what si Vsmile ? How will that symbol look like ? -Praveen
timbermommy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 My cousin matt is a district manager for walmart and he can put back items for me.. so thankfully i can avoid some of the rush.. but he cant put them back untill BF and he cant use his employee discount on them but who cares..lol my kids have a vsmile already..it would be awesome if they would put the games on sale!!!!
Ann Fleming Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I walk walmart until I give out . Then I go home and try to recall everything I did and saw.

Then instead of standing in line on BF we went in later that day and they were happy to give us a price adjustment. It kind of took the fun out of it, but that left us more time to hit the other stores.:)

t_mulkey Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I bought the V-Smile last year for my boys. I had a VERY hard time finding the games. Everyone was sold out. Also, try to find an AC adapter. The large console does not come with it. You will go broke with buying batteries. I noticed that WalMart stocks the adapters now. My WalMart even has some of the older games on clearance for $11. But it is a great investment. Good Luck.
